Actually, is Capcom even developing anything for the Bone? I never recalled them talking about it since current-gen started.

Not feeling the visual style, stuff like street fighter 4 feels timeless, this to me seems like something which will feel old in a few years.

The reason Respawn chose Source engine was because it worked well on PS3, and peering into the code/data of Titanfall you can see many hints at PS builds.

Respawn was actively getting ready to develop a PlayStation version until MS renegotiated the deal.

Wow I never saw that coming, that is a big win for Sony. Hopefully for XBO owners it's only a timed exclusive, makes no sense to leave out the system.

Didn't MS recently say they are close to 10 million sold while Sony sold 13.5 million? While I believe it's selling 2:1 in certain markets, the gap certainly isn't that large on a worldwide basis.

LOL, MS pr at it's best. Sony was at 13.5 END of sept..MS said they will SOON be at 10 that was near black friday with holiday shipments....Sony is closing in on 20 million soon, it is near 2:1 Worldwide. The gap is large worldwide and growing weekly.

Street Fighter 5 is exclusive on PS4 and PC. Street Fighter 5:[insert subtitle here] released six months after will be everywhere.

This is Capcom we are talking here

Holy fuck I was not expecting this. Now every console has its own (console) exclusive fighting game (though KI is only on X1 now I think and SSB Wii U is different from the 3DS version).

Did people really believe that Sony wouldn't attempt to gain third party exclusives? This actually makes a ton of sense since the inevitable Super (then Ultra) Street Fighter 5 will most likely come to the X1. Does Sony have a hand in its development at all? If they did I'd assume it wouldn't come to PC.

And for the people saying Capcom is the worst publisher this gen, really? Did you already forget about Ubisoft's 2014 and EA's Battlefield 4? I'm willing to bet that SF5 will be a very playable game at the very minimum.

Looks like an Ultra Street Fighter IV on steroids, not like a next-gen game...maybe it's the art-style or it's a Tekken 7 situation (unfinished and unpolished), but yeah first impression is meh...

Yeah, the graphics look like like a conservative cross-gen game IMO.

That said given how that seems to be true for just about everything Capcom is able to get out the door, this is about par for the course.

Wow! The art style is similar but the animations and effects look new. Eager to see more of the game - it's about time Capcom said goodbye to Street Fighter IV.

Didn't Adam Boyes work at Capcom before? I wonder if that had anything to do with this deal. Actually, do we know for sure that the game is skipping the Xbox One globally?

If you want it that bad, buy a ps4(or PC). I have to buy an Xbone to play Killer Instinct, and a Wii U to play Smash Bros. It's really that simple. The bitching and complaining is amusing though. Sad, but amusing.

GAF needs more of these to let us see who we are really dealing with.

Well said.

well, then it's ironic that Sony is helping to fund this if they are indeed given that Sony has been bleeding money for years.

Sony is a far bigger company with more access to capital markets. Because of their size, their bonds are pretty much guaranteed by the JP goverment.

Capcom being a shitty, mismanaged company isn't really changed or affected by the fact that some companies released shittier games. Your point isn't relevant.

Yeah they'll probably release the Super Ultra version later.

I mean Street Fighter was always kind of a Playstation game, (all the alphas and other series spin offs came out on PS first). We just all played on 360 because that was the popular console at the time and the online was superior when vanilla SF IV came out.

That's all changed now, I'm glad for this exclusivity. This is a healthy kind. Think about it, there will be a definitive place to play SFV now, there will be no arguments on which platform it's better on. I mean I guess the PS4 vs PC discussion will inevitably happen but as far as tournaments go, it's gonna be played on PS4.

So much wrong here that I don't know where to start...

Ok, how old are you? You are aware that Street Fighter has been around long before the first Playstation had even been conceived? To call it a Playstation game is first degree bullshit.

Also, healthy exclusivity vs unhealthy exclusivity? That's a new one. Are you suggesting all games come out on one platform only to save us from arguments over which is the better version?

You do see that you're comparing Sony buying a 3rd party exclusive to MS and Nintendo having a first party title though, right?

Dammmn I hope the Xone gets the super SFV update the year after.

This sucks for all the Xbox players

While it wouldn't surprise me to hear Sony partially funded it, I think it's only PS4 and PC because it's cross-play (a similar situation to how Final Fantasy XIV works, which Microsoft wanted no part of) and free-to-play. Even though they could do what Tecmo's doing with DoA5 and give the Xbox One a version, it'd be more beneficial to Capcom if they kept all of Street Fighter V's audience under a single, unified ecosystem under their control. I find it very hard to believe Microsoft would let an exclusive like this go if it's a matter of funding from a hardware manufacturer. They could easily outbid Sony without putting so much as a dent in their bank, and they wouldn't be afraid to do it either. Sony's policies are simply more accommodating and allow them to chase the crazy "League of Legends/microtransaction" format they've been trying to chase for years.

I dunno. I'm probably wrong. Time for sleep.

They've gone and done it... they've gone and woke the sleeping dragon now.

Sony should have left well enough alone and now they're going to get it. It's not enough that they're bleeding benjamins from practically every crevice of their existence. Now they go and throw immense moneyhats at a niche game like Street Fighter just to piss off the market. Why pay to keep a game out of the hands of as many gamers as possible? Why not put that money into first-party studios and games instead?

I know, I know... this is the way the business goes as they say. Well, they forced Microsoft's hands with their early sales lead and Microsoft only responded with an NPD whooping (source: musings thread) by way of incredible deals and value. Microsoft will undoubtedly follow this announcement up with some real megatons of their own.

Gears remake collection. A true Banjo sequel. Halo 5 beta in the hands of gamers. The next Bayonetta, Dead Space and Crysis as exclusives. Those are the kinds of blockbuster response announcements I expect, and then some. You hit Microsoft with a jab, you best be ready for a flurry of uppercuts coming at you in response.

So Sony moneyhat for SFV, everything is alright.

MS moneyhat for TR, shitstorm ensues.

Gotta love the hypocrites here.

Extremely disappointing acquisition for me, if it is a full console exclusive

I expected a new IP, and if you are going for an exclusive, why put it on another platform!

Commercially, this is going to be great for the PS4 though
