Uncharted 4 Gameplay Demo [Up: Sony - Was running at 30 fps]

Looking at the 1080p Youtube video, which is still heavily compressed, and the game definitely looks more impressive than first impressions suggested. There's a nice amount of detail in the scene.

Still, it doesn't feel like the leap I was expecting. It certainly does seem possible that it will run at 60 fps in the final game if that's their target, though, which isn't a bad thing I suppose. If they can deliver visuals of that quality at a stable 60 it should prove rather impressive.

Compare this sentiment towards the visuals on demonstration today versus the initial tease.

Its a fairly significant drop; and there's going to be a lot of apologizing and "look here" posts to distract crow feeders

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Definitely a huge level below that teaser trailer in terms of graphics. everything is pretty cutback. its not the best looking ps4 title, or even close to it. impressive if its indeed 60 fps tho.

And this is why devs shouldn't make 60fps games.

Game looks good but nowhere near as mind-blowing as cryptic insider tweets for months have indicated. Also doesn't look as good as the first reveal IMO.

my only disapointement is nate model far far from the trailer one
game seems huge even if the more /vertical gameplay don't impress as much as linear one in demo.

Wow literally every game lately has dream a lot of negativity from some Gaf members lately. Even bloodborne and No Man's Sky. So I wouldn't take many of these people seriously or at the least not be bothered by it.

Seriously. The "everything is shit" attitude sure can be tiring. Sometimes you just gotta take a break from forums and people with wildly unrealistic expectations.

Surprise, surprise. It doesn't look as good as that E3 trailer.

I think that should be expected. It looks near enough during the conversation section at the end but you can see the change from game to cutscene, which was the same with previous games anyway iirc and not much of a big deal.

Level design seemed stellar, and I like them not highlighting every single thing to latch on to and stuff. Foliage was pretty damn great too.

So it's pre alpha running at 30FPS. Hmm, can't say I'm not let down a little but I'll wait on more footage.

To be expect though if they move from more powerful dev kits to the actual console for the show (i think). That can be worked on later

Visuals look great, I'm sure I'll be properly blown away when I see the 60fps footage, but the gameplay has become so stagnant and boring.

silly me, expecting gameplay improvements.

How could you expect much more than what was shown? It is still an Uncharted game, there is only so much you can change or improve upon before it becomes a different game.

Nobody plays Uncharted to experience some deep strategic third-person shooter or anything.

Nowhere near as impressive as I thought it would be, but I guess it's expected if they are truly aiming for 60fps.

Guys holy shit.. the game doesnt come out for another year. If its running at 30fps now - thats a very good sign.

Although we are still in the pre-alpha stage of development, everything you see in the video is in-game and in real-time running at 1080p and a stable 30hz

That's not what ND said. That what the game is running at currently they have always been targeting 60fps.

Unreal...unreal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New stealth elements, more open, more enemy flank points and verticality. Uncharted platforming taken to the next level. New mechanics with the grappling hook..... the slide mechanic against enemies....

The graphics are just insane.

Drake's brother?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People forget this every single time.

For those saying the initial segment looked boring:
Uncharted games always have a mix of game scenarios, from quiet lonely moments where you're exploring in the wilderness to intense action to wild humor. This is one section of the game.

For those saying it looked ugly:
You're crazy, but the game has a year left, and Uncharted 2 looked much better at launch than it did in previews, even.

I'm impressed with the framerate for that level of simultaneous detail.

Guys.

Framerate is the LAST thing you work on in development. The last few months are generally just optimizing, optimizing, optimizing. Please relax about framerate until the game is in Gold.

You can tell if it will be 60 by beta. It's prealpha atm.

yeah, the last few month is, when you drop the targeted 60 fps to 30.
and then you release it with drops to low 20s.
