Uncharted 4 Gameplay Demo [Up: Sony - Was running at 30 fps]

Looking at the 1080p Youtube video, which is still heavily compressed, and the game definitely looks more impressive than first impressions suggested. There's a nice amount of detail in the scene.

Still, it doesn't feel like the leap I was expecting. It certainly does seem possible that it will run at 60 fps in the final game if that's their target, though, which isn't a bad thing I suppose. If they can deliver visuals of that quality at a stable 60 it should prove rather impressive.

Surprise, surprise. It doesn't look as good as that E3 trailer.

It does...watch it at 1080p. Even on youtube it looks like it does...

Comments in the OT are as bad as youtube...Neogaf discussion always goes to shit during conference.

Looks better than Unity to me by a decent margin.

I know GAF is made up of a lot PS4 fans (myself also), and all I see from people are bitching about the quality of graphics from a stream of one of console's biggest exclusives. If Uncharted isn't going to wow you, what the hell is?

People questioning the visuals... Cmon now. If there's any certainty when it comes to UC4, it'll look great when it releases.

Now if you expected more from the gameplay I def understand that. Looked fun to me though.

Anyone who's saying this is downgraded is full of it. Go back and watch the E3 reveal and then look at this one in 1080p.

Looks glorious.

People who believed that were just as gullible as anyone who got pumped for the initial Killzone 2 reveal.

Meanwhile, the rest of us reasonable people with our expectations in check can get excited by this gameplay footage. It still looks great and while probably either look better or have a better frame rate by the time its released. Maybe a bit of both.

Looks about how I thought. Great looking, though not the silly ass "generation ahead," stuff some people have been spewing.

So it seems that demo was running at 30fps, not 60fps.

Although we are still in the pre-alpha stage of development, everything you see in the video is in-game and in real-time running at 1080p and a stable 30hz. It’s looking pretty spectacular already and we still have quite some time to optimize and refine our technology to make this the best looking and playing Uncharted game to date.

Are they not targeting 60fps anymore? That'd be a great shame.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.

Completely agreed. I'm still very excited about the game, but you can see the decision to hit 60fps getting in the way of better even better visuals.

I thought it looked very nice. Next fall is going to be amazing for adventure games.

I couldn't help but think what Jak & Faster would look like with those visuals. I'm still praying they return to it.

ND is notorious for last minute improvements/opimizations. There also could be effects turned down for purposes of getting this demo at a presentable framerate. I remember there was a Corrinne Yu tweet that said TLoUR was running at 15fps a couple weeks before launch.

It looks great, and I love that ND gave us raw, unscripted gameplay (likely) a year out.

While the lighting may not be at AC: U or The Order: 1886 levels (yet), it's entirely too early to dismiss this graphically as some in this thread appear want to do.

Wow literally every game lately has dream a lot of negativity from some Gaf members lately. Even bloodborne and No Man's Sky. So I wouldn't take many of these people seriously or at the least not be bothered by it.

Man, the Youtube version looks so much more washed out than the Twitch stream @ Source.

They need to release another high bitrate version like they did with the UC4 teaser.

The visuals in the final in game cutscene from the demo do not look like a downgrade from the initial reveal.

.

The E3 footage was always cutscene quality real-time graphics. You wouldn't even notice blood rushing to Drake's eyebrows from the perspective of gameplay.

I dunno, I was expecting a better looking game. I'm not feeling the generational leap. But it's 60fps so I think it will play great
