I dont care at all what the graphics are like but man is the gameplay still the same. Looks a little less linear but overall i expected more. Maybe more physics where rocks break and you can use the environment into your advantage. More challenging parkour where you have to press more than one button. Less set pieces. AI looked good though.

I have to admit I only bought Uncharted 2 and didn't really like it. But for some reason I love the Last of Us.

Guys.

Framerate is the LAST thing you work on in development. The last few months are generally just optimizing, optimizing, optimizing. Please relax about framerate until the game is in Gold.

You can tell if it will be 60 by beta. It's prealpha atm.

Sure you can optimize, but doubling the framerate? That seems highly optimistic. I am sure the game is early, but with that I would expect it to be unlocked framerate with some drops right now, not 30fps.

Guys holy shit.. the game doesnt come out for another year. If its running at 30fps now - thats a very good sign.

A lot of people simply do not understand how games are created apparently.

The art in the demo environment is astounding. Really liked some of the enemy death animations, and the way fauna reacts when you're moving amongst it is second to none.

This defintely looked like a next gen Uncharted game.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
Hopefully someone can clear up if this was just the demo target or if they decided to go for 30fps. Seems like it would be a dumb idea to announce publicly going for 60 if you weren't positive you were going to go for it.

Yeah, what struck me is not that an alpha demo is not running at 60fps, but that they are quite proudly saying that it's running at stable 30fps without more comment on this. If you hadn't heard that they target 60fps, there is nothing there to make you expect that. Sounds more like "Look, we are already at our target!"

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
Looks like the latest Tomb Raider, which looked like Uncharted 2. So, looks like uncharted.

Looks incredible graphically but yeah, I thought it was funny how much it borrowed from the last Tomb Raider which in turn borrowed from Uncharted which obviously borrowed from the original Tomb Raiders.

Looks a great reason to finally pick up a PS4 for me though.

As much as I agree it's silly to judge IQ from a stream I did see some blocky looking shadows from the flashlight in the cave that stood out. Otherwise the game looks like more of the same which is good or bad depending on your stance but the foliage looked incredible. I like the wind blowing things and giving it a little more life.

Also if that's gonna be 60fps then yeah that's even more impressive

Hmm... a bit disappointed with the visuals. In the initial teaser Drake looked damn near life-like, here he absolutely doesn't. His gameplay character model honestly doesn't look like anything the PS3 couldn't do at a lower resolution. The environments looks good, but not mind-blowing. Vegetation density is nice.

Graphically it looks great. Hoping they push it to 60fps for release.
Expected more of an evolution in the gameplay department, however.

Lord Error

Insane For Sony
It looked spectacular, and seemed to play amazingly well. I loved the freeform encounters and all the kinds of things the environment made possible to do. Also, finally completely flawless transitions from cutscenes to gameplay. I know they are saying it's running at 30hz, but the game looked smoother than that when he played it.

btw, I don't think they downgraded visuals form the E3 trailer, but I need better footage of this to judge image quality.

The gameplay looked absolutely fantastic, great combat design, I kept seeing lots of alternate tactics to try and everything looked satisfying. Can't fucking wait to play it. It didn't blow me away visually... it's probably the best looking console game ever but diminishing returns is a thing. If it's 60, I'll be pleasantly surprised, otherwise it's as good as I expected and no better. Which is fine and all I ask for.

The video compression isn't doing it any favours, but definitely disappointed overall.

The good:

- Beautiful lighting
- Fantastic animation, especially the transitions (take note Bloodborne)
- Lovely foliage

Need to see some direct feed footage.

I can see that it looks better than Uncharted 2/3 / Tomb Raider but doesnt blow me away the same way those games did....

Its also seems like the same gameplay so far. I would just replay UC2/3 or Tomb Raider if I wanted.

More like they should be proud that the game is running stably at all in their not-nearly-finished development environment.

a Pre-alpha demo is running at a stable 30fps. It's still very likely the game will run at 60fps upon release....

Seriously. The "everything is shit" attitude sure can be tiring. Sometimes you just gotta take a break from forums and people with wildly unrealistic expectations.

I feel like we're at the point where they could have shown 4K video footage of a real jungle and some people would claim it was a downgrade from the E3 trailer.

The gameplay looks far beyond anything previous Uncharted games offered in terms of variety and ways to approach situations

I was working under the assumption that this is the level of fidelity they targetted even though it only runs at 30fps for now.

Definitely deserves praises for pushing those graphics at 60fps (not to mention the game isn't finished) but I'm not impressed at all. To my eyes Batman AK or The Witcher 3 look a league above that.

Looks fine, but not like the teaser, and not at 60 fps.

As always, if something seems too good to be true it IS too good to be true, people overhyped the graphics so hard.

Of course certain gaffers will try to downplay the game

Some saying it looks like an Uncharted game, Errr yea it is Uncharted

And it does look very close to the E3 reveal, difference is that E3 was a full close up and already has clear footages away from twitch, the camera is more far in this gameplay and twitch quality isnt good but if you compare with the first close up, they look very close..

You cant even compare the footage and foliage with the previous Uncharted

Awesome footage imo,

- Beautiful lighting

You think so? The lighting looks static and a bit flat to me. Hoping it's just the YouTube compression, but after playing stuff like Assassin's Creed: Unity and Dragon Age: Inquisition, I think my standards for lighting in big budget video games has risen a bit.

This looks probably more impressive to me than the Order...
Very different games but I have to agree with the other poster. The Order is clearly more limited in scope but it looks damn near pre-rendered in motion. The lighting, post-fx, and animation are all very impressive.

I don't know the game looks pretty underwhelming as of now and nowhere near the E3 trailer when it comes to Drake character model : One more year before release let's hope for more refine.

There is no release date. How do you know it will release in Dec 2015?

Furthermore, it's my prediction.
Not necessarily December 2015, but end of 2015 (probably October-November 2015). They still have plenty of time to improve the framerate as well as otherwise improve the graphics. This is Naughty Dog and their first PS4 game. If their first showing of their first PS4 game that is (almost) a year from release looks this good now, then it will likely look a lot better at release. Doubt they showed the most graphically impressive stuff either.

Jesus Christ... It seemed like the same model...

Damn, I can't say I was hyped at all for another Uncharted game but this footage has definitely changed my mind. Looks amazing, especially if this is actually targeted for 60fps. Stoked! Might be time to fire up the old PS3 and give these games another playthrough.
