-Cumulative PS4 & Xbox One sales are now almost 80 percent higher than the combined total of PS3 and Xbox 360 sales after 13 months.

Great news all around and congrats to Microsoft. Glad to see that the Wii U is up as well.

Microsoft won November NPD, this is a fact. Mr. Boyes knows.

The question is will we find out by how much?

I'm predicting BIG.

I'd imagine most November PS4 sales were not the Black Friday bundle.

There may have been some deals here and there. But that bundle was gone in just a few days.

That's super impressive that Sony held their ground without slashing prices. There's a time and a place for that. Just not now.

I trust CBOAT but 7-10k is hard to believe. How can it be that close with the Xbone price slashed so much? MS will still get a good PR cycle from this, as tech blogs usually don't provide numbers, but that's a costly victory for them.

Sony, you fools. You could have won if you had simply sold your grey PS4 in November!

Lol, this is probably true.

MS could barely win in November with massive price cut deals along with exclusives coming out. They are going to get annihilated first half of next year when they have no big releases in sight.

They combined Smash 3DS and WiiU, but not pokemon ORAS.

What is NPD doing?

So if Sony adds Vita sales to PS4 sales, they "win"? :p

Sadly, maybe not (no idea what Vita usually sells each month these days. Earlier this year though Vita would not have even made the difference in those sales though one could argue it was cause they were hard to find as Sony was trying to sell off the remaining original ones). Though it does seem I saw a lot more posts about people getting Vita this month... Not sure why as I don't think anything new/interesting has happened to it, but hey, as some one who really loves the console and would like to see more support for it, I'm not complaining.

what's Wii U's number if it increased 90% from last year? I know it's never going to be remotely successful, but I am interested in seeing the type of unit effect Smash Bros. had vs. Mario Kart.

Hardware only up 10%.
Software up 90%.

I can't believe it myself.

Sony nearly pulled off a massive upset here!

No brother ;) there would be no nearly about it if this is true. You know it, all the posts about Sony not dropping the price, it shows they knew exactly what they were doing. This is an upset if the difference is less than 10k, even if MS won, Sony comes out smelling like roses.

And based on some of the NPD Predictions, with MS winning by 200k, 300k, 2:1, this is a huge upset. There was also some of the posts about MS erasing nearly half of the USA gap this Holiday alone.

That 90% was for software only, whereas the 10% is hardware.

I think a post earlier in the 7k-10k shuffle says the 10% puts the Wii U at Just shy of 250k for the month.

MK8 had a bigger effect, I think.

7-10k dif
No, that can't be true. Can it? I'm sure Microsoft will be understandably vocal about coming in first but surely the sales have cost them far more than these sales are worth? With all the work they put into this month it makes it sound like they wouldn't have sold any at all without the discounts.

Crazy!

CBoaT's post totally makes me feel better about what I was seeing.

There was virtually no clear winner on our end. Stores were all over the place. Huge Sony shipments that didn't sell as 'fast', but sold like a goddamn truck, just constantly pushing numbers after the XB1 bundles emptied out.

So, yeah. 7-10k difference matches completely with how close of a game I figured it'd be.

This almost feels like a PS4 victory.

Sony didn't have to budge on price at all and still came close to winning :/

I feel really bad for MS right now lol
It pretty much is. You could even say Sony sat on their butts and still did really well. 10k is a MOE-type of number given how many units they both probably pushed.

It's like February all over again, but magnified. Tho this time the PS4 did technically come in 2nd, that shouldn't be forgotten.

Did you even read the OP? Or the title?
