*shudders to think how huge the NPD thread will grow*

So are we expecting to hit the 20K post limit in the first Nov-2014 NPD thread tonight or tomorrow early morning?

Honestly, I wouldn't see a November win as a sign of sony arrogance in action. It's not arrogance to lose in sales when your rival slashes $70 off the cost of their console and bundles in games for the holiday season.

I mean, you can't see that sort of action coming. They could have lowered their own costs, but I imagine sony was waiting to see what the effect on MS sales would be for November.

Arrogance would be a vita situation where they refuse to do any price changes despite months of thrashing and vanishing good will.

I don't expect MS to make a big deal of it, winning two months out of twelve is nothing to brag about. After the price cut, gift cards, free games and stuff its sort of a pyrrhic victory. They should be humble and focus on their strategy to maintain the lead from now on.

They'll only be in the lead if everything starts moving in the opposite direction.

And then technically, the Wii U will be in the lead.

Or the Ouya.

If your not calling the shots your decisions and influences can only extend so far.

Dude was in charge of MS Game Studios during its 'Halo/Gears/Fable/Forza rinse and repeat" haydays. Backpedaling from his predecessors plans after said plans backfired, doesn't erase the fact that Spencer was running MS first party studios when it was at its most anemic.

They're not in the lead though, they're desperately trying to catch up

I don't understand people putting all their hopes and dreams for Xbox into Spencer. I mean come on now:

Did the returning king suddenly sell an extra 6 million units (maybe more?) to dethrone the ruling king? 0_0

Gonna love reading this thread.

Now THAT would be a meltdown thread. Granted, MS would have to absolutely flood the market and sell out, and Sony would have to have pretty much no sales to speak of world wide that month.

But man would that be a fun thread.

Some companies don't have the luxury of being able to operate divisions at a loss without consequences. I wouldn't hold it against them.

Microsoft won November NPD, this is a fact. Mr. Boyes knows.

The question is will we find out by how much?

I'm predicting BIG.

I believe so too. However it would be funny to see who actually made the most money for sales during this time.

And guess who control the budget and revenue target of first party games?

when you given a low budget and high revenue target then only thing you can do is make games that are sure bets

Monthly lead.

P.S. Probably, that is.
Let's say we're at a F1 race and the leader is 10 seconds ahead of everyone else. If the driver on second place pulls out a lap that is one second faster than the leader, he's still #2. slowly closing the gap if he can keep it up, but he's not suddenly ahead now.

That's how I see it.
