Will Resident Evil 7 have any form of Sony exclusivity?

Thinking about the Street Fighter deal and how that may kickstart a new collaboration between Sony and Capcom. Or is Resident Evil too big of a brand to be on a single platform? Judging by Capcom's focus on sales numbers and how Resident Evil 6 didn't sell as well as they wanted it to, is it feasible that they would go with either a timed or full exclusivity deal?

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
hell no lol.

at best, some exclusive DLC or in-game content, but total exclusivity is very unlikely.

looking at how many platforms Resident Evil revelations 2 and the remake of 1, I'd say probably not. It will probably be ps3/4, 360, xb1 and pc

Probably a PS4 exclusive in Japan at least, like more and more big-name Japanese titles are becoming. No real XB1 market there.

RE is bigger than Street Fighter. I highly doubt it, even with Capcom's financial situation they probably have something allocated for RE.

The only 2 absolutes at Capcom now a days is Monster Hunter and RE if you ask me.

Depends if Capcom can't afford to release it multiplatform and needs the help of a console manufacturer to develop it and get it out there. We probably would've heard about it by now. RE is Capcoms big money maker at the moment though, so I imagine they have a bit put aside for the production of their big hitter.

Hopefully no one helps make Resident Evil 7 a reality. Resident Evil 5 & 6 have already done enough damage as it is.

Well let's see, Dead Rising 3 was Xbox One Exclusive with a PC port later on where as Street Fighter V is a PS4 and PC exclusive so going by that Resi 7 will be WiiU and PC exclusive. Funny thing is I wouldn't put that barmy decision past Capcom.

I can't see it, Resident Evil does really well for Capcom and they're also putting out Revelations 2 on both.

Uh... why would it?

Revelations 2 is multiplat already and it would make no sense at all to confuse and infuriate your fanbase by releasing a spin off on multiple platforms only to then deny all but one platform's fanbase access to the next mainline entry in the series...

...on the other hand...

If MS/Sony/Ninty are going to fund anything, they should fund a new Dragon's Dogma or Onimusha.

RE is tired. Let it rest outback and quietly fade away.

The series has been on a recent downward spiral. If Revelations 2 isn't a hit, it could end up in limbo and someone could nab it.

However, it's very hard to fathom it going Xbox exclusive, since Japan does love its Biohazzard.

It would be a better deal than the Street Fighter exclusivity IMO.

Not that I really care though, I hated what I played of RE6 (even though I liked RE5).

Resident Evil? No, the Xbox install base is too large and it would be more profitable for Capcom to not accept moneyhats or co-funding offers.

A new Onimusha/Dino Crisis/Lost Planet installment, now that could happen... I hope.

More likely as an MS exclusive. You know the moneyhatting will get bigger from them after the SFV deal Sony made. Sony would be smart to fund a Monster Hunter PS4 game and get 3 game console exclusive deal with Capcom on it. It would probably cost as much as funding a single RE game. They would sell a ton in Japan and a solid amount everywhere else. They also don't have a game like it on consoles.

What downward spiral?

All of the past RE games have been a huge success. It is not like they are losing money on them. They have gone down in quality though, not the sales. Resident Evil games still sell a shit load of copies and generate plenty of buzz. They are just not up to the quality of their previous releases.

I don't see RE being exclusive at all, but if it was I don't know why you'd assume it would be a PS4 exclusive, it could just as easily be a Xbox, considering MS was willing to fund Dead Rising 3, which was probably more of a risk than a RE game would be.

is people forgetting Dead Rising 3? becuase that somehow draw the SFV exclusivity, imho.
I mean, I don't think that Capcom prefers to go with Sony, but I think they look for funding developments, for those games they are not "certain" about in terms of sales success.
Btw, I think that RE is not one of those games.
