Lolwhat? Destiny has pushed a lot of PS4 hardware and pushed up PS+ membership. It was also th most pre-ordered game in PSN history. The partnership has beneficial for both of them.
I can't believe people are still upset about Destiny. It's becoming an unfunny inside joke at this point.

I don't get it, if its only 3% difference in the gap, then that means xbox one outsold ps4 by more then 230k right? the gap was 700k before december.

Alright, since too many people quoted my post, I admit I forgot about the bundles.
I just want Sony to stop marketing that game and focus their efforts somewhere else. GTA V is a better thing to focus on just like MS is playing it smartly with COD.
Actually I don't want to see Sony showing Destiny for the umpteenth time in their conferences -_-
MS did the same with Titanfall. But yeah it is dumb to hang your hat on a title for so long especially when it is not exclusive.

Yeah but not at launch and no marketing. PS3 received a BO2 bundle a couple years ago too.

Its no PS4 but lets not act like a price drop would do "nothing", they can still get a reasonable amount of sales outside of US and they should continue to aim for that. They will be dropping the price and trying to get what they can.
Not sure they should do a UK price drop though, it would probably end up raising the price right now...

XB1 is appealing in NA and the UK at an even price with the PS4, but not as appealing. It becomes more appealing when it's $50 less than the PS4. That appears to be the difference that consumers have set to tip over their opinion.
The XB1 is not appealing outside of those two regions, at least not in its current configuration. The problem with the XB1 is deeper than just price outside of those two regions. Microsoft needs to go back and redesign the system for a global market, and not just a few english speaking markets. System, controller, OS, the whole shebang.

Destiny will be a mainstay at Sony conferences just like CoD is for MS. They'll likely spend time this E3 on the expansion, next year on the sequel, etc. We should get used to it

Are you for real? Yes Sony is much stronger outside of NA then MS but the 360 actually had great success globaly.

I can't wrap my head around the fact that Captain Toad had an NPD month of 250k while Bayonetta 2 (incl. Bayonetta 1) struggled to even reach 70k.
It seems consumers are much more receptive to Nintendo developed franchises as oppose to third-party offerings via Nintendo funding.
Maybe the comparison is not just as one title is more niche compared to its counterpart, but what message will Nintendo take from this? Stay the course and develop a more robust, but Ninty software ecosystem?

Maybe nothing is the wrong word. Of course it wiuld have some effect but it would be negligble. The X1 is not competitive outside the US. MS IPs are NA centered, there's no real reason for someone to pick an X1 over a PS4 outside NA and the UK (which is basically just a smaller US).
Not to mention, the gap is just continuing to rapidly increase.
To put things in perspective, assuming a 35ish percent NA to world Ratio, the PS4 should have done 3 million+ in Dec. Whereas (using a generous 60%) the X1 did maybe 2 million. That'd be a 1 million increase in just one month (again, this numbers are just pulled out of nowhere, I have no info, just trying to get my point across).
I think MS is doing well to focus on NA because that's really all they can do
