This is a correct answer.

Also, if you're a newer PS3 owner, who wasn't around six (SIX!) years ago when The Last Guy came out, give it a run. Neat little game.

I find it hard to recommend as I have no idea how to describe it but yes it's a weird but neat game, not much else like it.

I bought the third birthday using the last of my PSN credits in the end. I was thinking of either that for Suikoden 2, but I already have too many rpgs. Loving the sale.

I'm at 9/10 for my cart, and need one more game.

Can someone recommend me a relatively obscure PSP or PS1 game to pick up? I'd prefer something tactical, or possibly rpg though doesn't have to be. Drpgs okay, though I own elminage and class of heroes 1/2 already. Any kind of tactics / srpg suggestion would be fine, the more obscure (but still good) the better.

I don't own Breath of Fire IV, so I'm thinking maybe that? Or maybe I'll rebuy Socom Tactical Strike? But really, looking for recommendations. Dungeon Maker? Dungeon Explorer? Hrm. Blazing Souls? Spectral Souls? Something else?

I was gonna recommend BoFIV, so definitely go with that if you've been eyeing it yourself. Solid game. Looks pretty damn goos, but it has some visual quirks do to the PSX's graphical abilities.

Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time. It's for the PSP. I think most people in this thread have never even heard of this game before.

I haven't really been eyeing it, don't actually know much about it... just remember someone here mentioning it, I think. I've been going around in circles, would probably have already picked up Unchained Blades or one of the Patton games if they weren't so expensive.

But BoFIV is solid? It looks the most like a normal jrpg, which i guess is okay, though i was hoping for something a bit different. But if it's good, it's good. I have some time to decide, I guess.

Looking around the psp store has just made me realize how much a mega $5 psp game sale would rock. I'd be bankrupt.

I... already own it. But... I haven't played it yet. I will move it to the top of my 'must play' list, though it doesn't fill my cart.

Well that was a bit expensive. Decided to go nuts and got:
Driveclub season pass
Fishy Tales of the Nekomata
SK Bon Appetit (both halves, and the 2 extra characters that work in Versus)
Costume Quest 2

Here's what I got.

Shadow Warrior is excellent. Not sure why I let it slip by before today. There's just something about sticking a sword in a demon's face. So yeah. Get it. It's 6 bucks.

any thoughts on

FINAL FANTASY® V (PS3™/PSP®/PS Vita)
FINAL FANTASY® III

best versions? - I'm inclined to think the Vita is the best place to play them... but not sure if they are good ports (or the lowest price)

Best ver. of FF5 is GBA, PSX ver. has shitty translation but gameplay should make up for it.
FF3 is OK. I kinda regret getting FF5 PSX now that I think about it, lol.

Is resogun vita worth it ?

IMO, yes but you should've gotten it for free if you owned the PS4 ver. via PS Plus.

How's the screen tearing? Gotta know if it was fixed or not.

I've been playing it one and off for a couple of months. It's pretty fun, though it took me awhile to get used to the system.

So question. Has Sony extended their PsNow trial, because it's the 8th day for me a games are still working. Also, they couldn't have charged me since there is no card, and I unchecked auto pay.

Still spinning in circles for my 10th 'treat' game. Almost bit on BoFIV then read a review that said it's great for story, but combat is bog standard jrpg fair. Was hoping for something more... combat oriented?

Made the mistake of searching the net, now I'm even more confused. Someone just bought Fate/Extra, now I'll go research that. I wish Brandish had a launch discount so I could talk myself into grabbing that.

EDIT -- anyone know how Field Commander PSP is?

EDIT 2 -- so many psp games not on psn makes me sad. D&D tactics, Valkyria Profile Lenneth, Metal Gear Acids....

Is anyone else having trouble downloading avatars? Bought an avatar of my bae (Hikage) during the sale and I can't download it to my Vita.

At least US gets good avatars. Would love some of your Capcom avatars over here in Europe.
Bought some GnG before I realised they were tied to the account and could not use them on my main EU account.

Yay or nay with Resogun Vita?

Yay. Solid port of a great game that fits perfectly on a handheld.

As of today I now have 2 1/2 folders full of Vita games. 8 of those games were bought in the past 2 weeks.

I'm drowning in Vita games over here.

Edit: For some reason both the ps3 and vita version of Resogun are in my download list even though my ps+ sub ran out.

Because since you redeemed the PS3/V versions, do you now own it forever.

Rollers of the Realm is, as you probably already know, a pinball game meets an RPG. Your two main flippers have HP bars, and will break if they are attacked enough, becoming shorter as time goes on. Each character/ball has their own attributes; the knight is a larger ball that is slower but does good damage, the thief is smaller and faster and can summon her dog to help her out (multiball), that sort of thing. The story is pretty standard RPG fare, but the gameplay is what makes it really fun. It can get surprisingly challenging, especially when you want to figure out how to both defeat your enemies and get the treasures hidden around a specific level. Personally, I love it, and especially since it's on sale, I highly recommend it.

Welp, sold me. I loved the demo.

Probably gonna get this, Unfinished Swan... DriveClub Season Pass... Uhh

Sorry, should have replied to this last night. I went ahead and bought Rollers of the Realm. I'll have time to try it out today. Thanks!

Is it just me or does OlliOlli shows up as free for anyone else on the EU store?

That's Sony's way of making cross-buy work for titles that got another version added. You probably own the Vita/PS3 version and can get the PS4 version that way.

It has the neat side-effect that if you got it through PS+, you get to keep it forever (at least I think so)

Bought Monster Monpiece (because I have no faith it will be discounted for NA after all this wait) and is pretty satisfied so far. It's a pretty cool card battle game. I wonder if it did well enough to be considered for a sequel.

2+2=5

The Amiga Brotherhood
Night Cry looks rough, but could be interesting, i hope it will be good.

Well, now that you laid out the facts™, a big Vita conspiracy really does sound more likely. Thanks and good luck out there!
Stupid me that i have even wasted my time, keep on day dreaming.

It has a sort of sequel, but it's not a card game, it's a dungeon crawler called moero chronicle.

ok went nuts an bought too many games this week , all of them retail

Tales of hearts r (not my type of jrpg but its the only tales on Vita so i need to try this)

Senran Kagura shinovi vs lets get physical edition (The artbook is damn amazing, game is fun as hell)

Tearaway (i dont care about the unfolded version on ps4 , this game has enough to be played on vita that will not appear on that version for obvious reasons)

NepReb 1 ( i need to have the console wars jrpg game , it is too weird i mean you fight enemies that are tetris pieces and sim date games? yeah im in)

God of War Collection (my ex stole this game so i had to buy it again)

Modnation Racers (it was like tooooo cheap to be truth, and i think for that price, like 5 dollars, it is good enough)

Hope I'm not too late. But I highly recommend Riviera. It's a port of the GBA version. Unique srpg of sorts, where individual weapons have specific uses, and number of uses. Great art, and a different design of game.

Edit: Despite a broke'd Vita, I'm still buying games up left and right. Finally completing my FF collection, plus picking up Legacy of Kain, and Shadow Warrior. My cart has 9 games, and the total will be less than $30 bucks. Love it.
