Life Is Strange |OT| Rewinder Me

Bought all the episodes last night thanks to discount code on GMG.

Just started this morning and really enjoying it. Taking my sweet time, talking to everyone, and looking at everything. Got all the jokes and references haha. Also the choices you have to make! Ahh!

Game runs great on max settings.

I do wish the hair was better and had physics. Hell I'd like to see the earrings sway too. Kinda jarring seeing them stuck in place. Also lip synching isn't as good.

I'm hoping there are multiple endings and at least one of them leads to a satisfying one.

I don't think so. I think he has a crush on Max for sure, but he didn't seem all that worrisome to me.
He looks to me like a guy who is extremely thirsty and that wants "his price" for his engagement. Max makes the mistake of amusing him, without making things clear (I presume, that she only sees him as a funny friend, despite knowing that he probably wants more). He will probably snap at some point for not getting the reward he yearns for.

Yeah he seem to be a bit to clingy, he will either fuck someting up or he's trying to trick Max.
Yes, I could see him snitching on her or actively endanger or even attack her.

Random Guess:
He was Max BFF but they will fall out perhaps?
He clearly wants more than being the BFF. And this is the problem I think.

Can a fellow PC explain the anti alias settings? I assume 16x whatever will be the best? I feel like it's just random letters and numbers :)

Anti aliasing smooths edges of objects, but is resource intensive. Turn it up as high as you want until it starts to impact your performance, but once you go over about 4x there isn't too much of a visual difference

MSAA is better but more taxing on your system.

FXAA is easier to pull off, but some people don't like the slight blurriness from it.

If you don't know what these mean, then it's likely you won't notice the difference between them enough for you to spend the extra computing power. Even if you do know the difference, it's mostly up to which you prefer.

MSAA at 16Q will look the sharpest in most situations but will lose you some framerate.

FXAA at high will look just fine, and won't kill you framerate.

If you have a decent computer, then the game should run at a high enough framerate that you shouldn't even see the performance impact of either setting, so if you felt like it, you could just turn both options to the max and still get 60 fps.

I personally ran the game at 4K and MSAA at 2x and FXAA at high, just because I could. Had no performance issues.

If your question was simple which MSAA setting to use, the higher the number, the higher the quality of AA and the higher performance impact. Don't pay attention to the C's and the Q's etc.

Poor Warren! I'm going to stick with him.

Finished episode one earlier, impressed so far, it reminds me of Quantic Dream's games in terms of feel.

Might give it another run on a different save, see how the choices play out.

Wow I just finished episode one and this game make TellTale look like amatures. Amazing game so far. Art, music and writing all great! If you like games like this, buy it!

Are there any spoilers on the steam forum?

I'm intrigued by how bad it sounds, but haven't played the first episode yet and don't want it spoiled.

That French touch.

The Steam forums for this game are making my head hurt.

It really is a mess, I never wonder there so I was kinda shocked at some comments.

Not on the first page at least.

Played an hour last night, and I definitely like it. This kind of full 3D world adventure game is where I always thought the genre should have gone. Telltale's stuff feels more like a half-step in comparison (although they definitely win when it comes to the writing aspect).

The only thing I'm not liking is the chromatic aberration. I have no idea why so many people keep using this effect.

Don't even bother with them. Personally I think the Steam forums should be done away with entirely.

No way. Their super important for lesser known games that aren't ever discussed elsewhere.

Probably, but they're all buried under complaints about lesbians, social justice and more dumb internet shit. Nothing worth looking at because it's literally all just trolls.

Planning to play through Ep. 1 tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm on a nights schedule, so I need to get some sleep first. Was up all night playing Dying Light.

It looks great from the media I've seen, so here's hoping.

I mentioned this in another thread, but why is the PSN version $10 more (AUD) than the Steam version? $29.99 Vs. $19.99. Ten dollar surcharge for the fucking atrocious service that PSN is...insulting.

Haven't finished the episode yet, but i feel i've got a good grasp of things. I enjoyed my time with it. The writing is actually pretty great for what it is, and does a great job of establishing the context and world the game explores. There's a ton of content to hear and read, not to mention every character interaction and random people. They're dropping names like no one's business though. Bresson, Capa, Doisneau, Arbus, Avedon, Frank, Weston, holy crackles. Calm down for a second! The school is ultra well fitted too. Leicas by the bunch, studends with MF cameras, jeez.

I like it. Very strong experience.

Hidden psn hate post detected.
Though that is odd that is charging more.

I'm disappointed at all the TBA tags in the OP. Looks like the season pass won't be bought then. I might go ahead and enjoy Episode 1 but I think Telltale has taught everybody to never buy season passes for these games.

It's almost February and there is STILL no word on Episode 2 for either Game of Thrones or Borderlands.

Here's a list of the 10 hidden photos if you don;t want to search for them, or the clues aren't helping.

1.
A drawing is etched into the middle desk in Mr. Jefferson's classroom.
2.
The statue just outside the main entrance to the school.
3.
Talk to the group of skaters, and when Justin calls you a poser rewind time and choose the noseslide option. When you're asked which trick you want to see choose tre flip. After the the guy performing the trick hits his balls go up to him and take a photo.
4.
Outside the dorm area there's a squirrel with a can of soda by a tree with Make art, not war written on it. Take a picture of it.
5.
The mirror in Max's room
6.
Mess up the photo's in Virginia's room and take a picture of the results. You can always rewind time after taking the photo if you didn't want to rearrange her photos.
7.
After warning Alyssa about the football take a picture of the broken window.
8.
In the Parking lot there's a dirty R.V. Draw on the window and take a photo of the result. If you didn't want to draw on the R.V you can rewind time after taking your photo
9.
Once you're on the path to the lighthouse turn around and go down the path. Eventually you'll come to a crow on a rock. Take a picture of it.
10.
When you reach Chloe sitting on the bench stand behind her and select "Look". This will give you the prompt to take the final picture.

Game of Thrones Ep 2 is out next week, isn't it?

Life is Strange i think has around 6 weeks between each episode, which makes sense since at the end of episode 1 they say ep 2 is out in March.

I hate it when I cannot play game on release date and developer do not response properly like this time.

At least they should tell me how long do I have to wait because I am waiting to play their game now. I will go to sleep if it is too long.

Someone uploaded the main menu theme to youtube and welp it's going on repeat for the rest of my work day

I loved this track. Every time it came on in the game, it punched me in the gut. So warm.

Also, a neat spoiler for the main game, when you're in
Max's dorm
room and you turn on
the stereo there and then tell her to play the guitar shortly after, she plays the same track on the stereo, but it gradually transitions to just her playing the guitar. A very cool moment.

If I had to place it within the Sliding Scale of Modern Telltale, it would definitely be on the Walking Dead S1 end of the spectrum. I'd say about on-par with the intro to Fahrenheit, which was fantastic.
:O
I still think Fahrenheit's Diner scene is, like, the pinnacle of the "interactive movie" subgenre.
There's so many things to interact with and basically EVERYTHING you do will have a repercussion when you later play as the two detectives. (Did you hide the knife? Did you call your brother with the payphone? Did you pay the bill or just ran away? Did you take the cab or the subway?...)
And the best thing about this is that you make these choices just by interacting with the environment and not in a TellTale fashion (dramatic "Press A for Choice 1/Press B for Choice 2" moment). Also, the game lets you make bad choices that result in a game over if you fail to use common sense (Leave the bathroom without washing the blood away? People will notice and you will be caught immediately).
Shame most of the game is hilariously bad...
Anyway, just bought this through Nuuvem since the price is awesome, I hope I've not just made a huge mistake lol

Interesting, thanks for this. MSAA really taxes my FPS, but no setting I choose improves the FPS much when lots of people are around =/

Higher values will always be more taxing. Just completely shut it off. Turn down the resolution as well if your framerate is low.

Finished the Episode. Love it. The game is going to end up in my top 10 of '15 if they don't fuck it up. I like it even more than Walking Dead. The characters and setting are top, and i can somewhat relate to quite a few things that happend and to Max as a character. Man time in school sucked ass.
Now i've to wait for Ep. 2 :(

i finished the first episode earlier today and i'm not sure i loved it that much:

- The game really feels like a teen tv show with all the bad thing that come with this type of show, Max is an interesting character but it's really the only one, most of the characters are "Too much", too caricatural, the setting is great but the situation Max is facing aren't believable a second.

- The game had a great start but the story really shine at the end of the episode with nothing amazing during a great part of it but i will wait for the next episode to see if the scenario goes up or not.

- The gameplay isn't really exiting either, you're just poking around with some little puzzles you have to do with the Time power stuff, it's ok.

- The Soundtrack is really good and there is a really good choice of voice actor, congrats on that part.

I will wait for the second episode to decide if i buy the complete season or not.

the overall game its pretty okay. i like the music, i like graphical style (reminds me of Team Fortress 2, the school yard and stuff looks like one of these timberland maps on TF2, and thats good) and the VA cast is nice too.
i actually like the game despite all the SJW and stuff bullshit that many people seems to tag the game with

PD: they really need to smash some bugs. when i
get to the victoria event,at the dorm entrance stairs and failed it. Max says that she should rewind, but i cannot rewind.

There is no "SJW" stuff in the first place, that's the craziest thing. I just don't think they can comprehend a game written from the perspective of (and about) a high school girl.
