Considering the game is already $59.99 just for the basic edition, this is not how you get off to a good start with the community:

I realize they're just cosmetics, but still, $6.99 for skins is ridiculous. Believe it or not, once upon a time content like this was free of charge.

a bunch of friends bought it, so i did too. haven't played the alpha or beta, and i haven't really been hyped for it lately at all, but if its half as good as L4D, ill be happy.

gotta disagree. this is the way DLC should be done. not new weapons or classes, or perks, but all cosmetic. maps for free, but $$ for cosmetic only items? yes, thanks.

Par for the course anymore for games, I really don't mind companies selling skins personally, but I see can see how people hate it.

It's better than non-cosmetic items, don't get me wrong, but why should we pay for simple things like skins when we've already dished out at least $59.99 for the game? If this were a F2P game or even reasonably priced (somewhere around $30) I could maybe understand it.

Ahhh, the glory days when all that was extra stuff for beating the game, or doing special tasks. But, at least now we get achievements...

I have an issue. I can play the game with keyboard/mouse and ingame prompts show up correctly, but I can't get a mouse pointer or prompts when I'm in menus. I thought this might be because I had a controller connected, so I removed that and then got this

Basically the game became completely unresponsive until I connected the controller back. Then I got controller prompts and was able to navigate menus. I just can't seem to get any keyboard prompts or a mouse pointer in the menus though.

Anyone have this issue? Any suggestions?

Anyone get a physical copy early? I'm starting to kind of want this and I want the DLC, but I'd rather get it from Target tomorrow while I trade in some things.

Just curious if the DLC is a code in the box or if it's digitally on the receipt.

1 as monster and 2 as hunters.
I lost badly as the monster, i swear I have no idea how to properly damage the hunters :(
As hunters I lost once and won once so that's all fine

Game is still as fun as I remember it and great to just jump in and play a round or two

How was the communication? My friends are not into it so i'm gonna be stuck with randoms if i get it.

Or playing with GAF is the Xbox One community is good. Hopefully its not as lopsided as Destiny is..

so I had it preordered, and no DLC code on receipt or in the case of the game...

mom and pop shop too if it matters.

Do a google search for "is evolve 60fps" and there's a crapton of hits stating it may be 60fps on consoles and they're aiming for it and so forth. I had a feeling it wouldn't be. No huge deal but it would have been nice.

Yeah that's what I was doing - practicing with Monsters against bots. You can rank up normally this way as well.
But yeah the bots are no slouch - they've got the same insane aim that L4D bots did. They're pretty clever with the trap placement as well.

I only bought it an hour ago and only the playgo portion has downloaded. I hope I can at least play a game or two in that portion before tomorrow.

You mean like the open beta? Pumped for this tomorrow. Add me XB1 Minx88 send me a message so I know who you are. This game is most fun with hunters who know what they are doing instead of rsndoms who just follow tracks, don't cut off the Monster, and don't know when to run.

The game doesn't support on-the-fly input method switching. I discovered that for myself when I made the PC perf. thread.

Ah. It's 30 fps (source: it's out in UK) and was during the beta and alpha too. They always targetted 30 in development, so I don't know why they claimed otherwise.

Big Alpha was code only but It has a sign up and it was really easy to get a code. 2nd Beta was completely open to the public on XB1. Everyone from the alpha on the other platforms code still worked to play again.

There should be a DLC section when you view Evolve in your Library. If it says you have the Monster Expansion Pack, then you've got the pre-order bonus.

That's weird, I had my X1 pad connected and saw prompts for it while using kb/m. Then I pulled the plug because of the rumble, game said 'controller disconnected', I could continue and everything was still fine.

You're thinking of TF2/Dota 2 promo items. The Monster Expansion Pack was advertised on GMG also.

I have an X1 controller also but encountered the same issue as spin. Maybe the game's OTF switching needs a little TLC.

Naturally when I decide to order at the very last minute Best Buy's checkout won't let me confirm and just fails to confirm order. Guess I'll just get it at Target then.

I actually live in Canada. And I made a mistake, I looked at the DLC section and I actually saw the Hunting Season Pass only, no Monster Expansion Pack.

I wonder why I can't see the Monster XP..
