Ollie was really pissing me off with wanting to save Merlyn, I was having the exact same reactions as Laurel.

I'm glad he's doing it more because he's an insane jerk who can't handle a loss than that terrible Thea excuse.

and what's with that Iron Man suit, you're supposed to shrink dammnit,

Pretty good episode, Oliver was actually killing dudes again

I know suspension of disbelief and all that but even Iron Man crashed on his first few attempts.

Ray got the suit working minutes before and was flying like a pro :p

Cisco made a gun that shoots out absolute cold in his spare time.

Loved this episode

+ Raylicity is REAL.
+ Superman with the beard
+ The suit is so awesome, even though I have a problem with the helmet still
+ Diggle/Ollie's bro moments are back
+ Malcolm swagging on Laurel, while she's swinging at him
+ SEASON 1 FELICITY BACK
+ Nyssa is such a badass, I wanna see more of her.
+ Roy and Thea's chemistry.

- The last 10 seconds of the episode. Come on Ra's, he aint Batman... Hopefully the writers drop at least a hint of Batman next episode, something like Ra's saying "You are not HIM Mr. Queen, but you're worth of the title."

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
I can already imagine how Ray will exit the show for a little bit:

Billionaire Ray Palmer missing! No leads to his whereabouts!

Turns out his suit shrunk him and he can't reverse it.

Then we get a spin-off Atom show with him saving the subatomic world.

"Why does this keep happening to me."

Good episode but how Ra's worded his wanting Oliver to be the "new Ra's" instead of just saying his successor concerns me a bit even with Ra's mentioning being around in 1854 or whatever and the 67 years ago thing. But I guess he's really just saying he wants Oliver to be the new head of the demon.

Oh, he changes, all right. He changes into (MAJOR SPOILER for The Affair)
a statutory rapist.
Well, to be fair I wouldn't be surprised if Tommy
hooked up with someone under 18 either at some point
.

I think I just realized something...

Oliver and Felicity never slept together

:O

Yeah and I for one hopes it stays that way.

So Oliver > Nyssa > Merlyn...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

That bugged me at first but then I just figured Nyssa wasn't on her A game when first fighting Oliver due to Sara nearly killing herself.

I'd still love a series where either Bruce or Ollie ACTUALLY becomes the next Ra's as a plot twist and the show takes a completely different direction.

That'd be a good twist but with the way things are going Roy will get murdered with a crow bar, but come back via the Lazarus Pit as Red Hood and Ollie will knock up Nyssa, who will give birth to Damian Queen, the next Arsenal.

Okay I just saw the promo,
never mind my confusion/concern, they are just going the comic/animated Batman route and not the Nolan route.

Oliver already has his "Damian" though, no Nyssa required.

Hopefully Laurel stays out of love with Ollie forever.

Also I hope he accepts Thea as a member of Team Arrow with open arms, and continues to be a jerk Laurel.

Well that was it, this entire Ra's storyline has completely destroyed Oliver and Arrow for me.
Those last few seconds were the final straw.

Im done with this series, so disappointing considering just last season it was my second favorite series on tv.

Seriously Diggle & Atom are the only likeable part of the show anymore.

Yeah this is my thinking at the minute. I've tried to give this season a chance hoping it would get better but it's got to the point where I can't stand Oliver and most of major story lines. Hopefully by the time the show comes back from its hiatus I'll be ready to give it another shot but I'm not enjoying it so far and now we have plenty of other options for comic book shows I'll find this easier to drop.

I for one think the show has gotten a lot better since the beginning of the season. Yea I know the story lines haven't panned out but it seems to be picking up steam again. I thought tonight's episode was really good, dat Atom suit!

Also I'm fine with Ollie and the league. There won't be a batman in this universe so why not see where this goes

Thought it was a good episode. I loved that Thea told Laurel. Great Diggle stuff. Ray looked hot. Felicity got her groove back.

I'm ready for Malcolm to die now, his character does nothing for me.

The best advice I can give? Dump the show. Read recaps/reviews if you think you'll be back in S4, so you can keep current on what's happening, but otherwise quit it cold turkey. And join us in posting stupid shit about Tommy or writing audacious fan-fic about the show. Because it'd be nice for this thread to be God-tier again instead of 'OMG WHY IS ARROW SO BAD? NO FUN ALLOWED.'

BTW, can we get a fucking hint or something about Talia for christ sake??? Like wtf? Nyssa can't even say "My sister..."? It's so annoying that they keep chopping the canon off like that.

Truth. The only criticism of tonight's episode should be that Tommy didn't come out of the pit and that Roy didn't flip.

I already know how bad the complaining regarding inconsistencies of Barry's powers will be in The Flash in later years and dreading it.

So after watching the 3:16 promo. Ollie is going to accept and then from there they're going to rip Daredevil's story when he became leader of the hand?

Also

Sarah: "The league are trained in ancient and deadly arts. You would be no match with your military training"

3:15 - Diggle kills like 8 members with a handgun and assault rifle heh.

Great episode. Love that they went with the apprentice storyline, especially since Green Arrow as a killer is far far better candidate than mr. no-kill rule Batman ever was. Hope we see more and more Ra's now. I never cared much about that character in comics or movies, but I absolutely love this interpretation of him. Makes both Malcolm and Slade seem like kids throwing a tantrum.

And it was goo to see Oliver straight up go on a murder spree against League's guards. Welcome back, Frank Castle.

Lots of great action scenes this week. Oliver easily besting Nyssa was awesome. But what I loved the most was how similiar in moves Malcolm's fight against Laurel was to Ra's vs Oliver.

Also..Felicity's magic vagina is hilarious. I guess when you're a fat slob (by Arrowverse standards that is) you need that power to make a scientific breakthroughs. ;D

I feel like comic book writers really don't know what the fuck they're talking about and/or have zero clue just how brutal Special Forces training is.

"Where I come from, they make the Special Forces look like Kindergateners"

Yeah, no. That's utterly insulting, tbh.

It feels like this show is becoming Batman and Friends

It's good thing though. Movies were too short to do proper adaptations of many of classic Batman storylines and animated series always focused on procedural storytelling. So I'm happy to see them using Batman storylines this way, even if they replace Bats with Green Arrow.

that was much better than last week's shit tier episode.

i love how laurel took thea's news in stride, blaming the right person for something finally. she's gone from one of my most hated to one of the best characters in the show in season 3.

that ending was pretty stupid lol, but i suppose they're really pushing for oliver to be CW's Bruce Wayne so I guess I'll get used to it.

Nah. It's just they have to assume there are special trainings far above those real world one that superheroes get. Otherwise there would be no point in non-powered superheroes. Batman, Daredevil and to lesser degree Green Arrow..all would be dead meat in real world.
It's not any different from action movies, where heroes also mow through trained killers and special forces mercernaries like they they would be Storm Troopers.

Diggle has been training with Oliver for three years and going on missions with him. So at this point he would propably be able to dismantle his whole previous squad.

l, but i suppose they're really pushing for oliver to be CW's Bruce Wayne so I guess I'll get used to it.

It's best to assume Bruce Wayne is dead/crippled in this world and this is a alternative universe where Oliver takes his place, at least partially. It's easier this way :D

Yeah man, it's a consistent theme in all forms of media regarding Batman and Ra's Al Ghul. He's asked Bruce to succeed him in the TV animated series, the movie Batman Begins, and even in the game Arkham City. But, Batman does not kill and always refuses to take his place despite the fact that he is actually in love with his daughter Talia (and she with him).

EDIT:

BTW, I'm completely okay with this. You all need to let it go, Batman ain't ever going to happen (at least not anytime soon) so just let Ollie fill in some of that role.
My issue here is that, and again this is my issue and I don't know if others share it, but...with Batman, Ra's always referred to him as "Detective." Like respect for him. Bats bested Ra's in combat, foiled his plans, and was the love of his daughter. There was a certain air of respect and they matched each other.

In this tale, Ra's smack talks Ollie like he's the kid no one wants for dodgeball, kills him, and then goes "Welp you survived and you're a good fighter. Wanna lead the League of Assassins?" It just feels so...I dunno. Unearned? It's not that he isn't Batman and they're just ripping the storyline, it's that it doesn't feel like, based on the story at this point, that Ollie has reached that level of respect and rivalry with Ra's. That's been my issue with this storyline from the beginning is that I don't feel like Oliver has done anything to reach that level yet. Maybe he has and I'm undermining it, but I just don't feel like he's reached that point. Now, had this particular storyline been saved for a much later season, then I'd probably feel that way. As of now, though, I don't. I just can't feel like this has been earned.

Regardless, I'm eager to see how this pans out.
Did ra's say he was around in 1854 or did I hear his story wrong?
You heard right.

More than okay with this.

Slade will be the one murdering Roy, yes?

Hey now Batman The Brave and The Bold was a fucking radical show.

The AVclub review was pretty good

It’s small wonder then that can never quite tell the same story twice, and why even he struggles to articulate what’s really driving his actions. If we are to believe what Oliver says in Nanda Parbat, that offhand lie to Laurel is a Russian nesting doll of untruths: He lies to protect Laurel from the truth, by which he really means he lies to protect Thea and justify his continued training with Malcolm, by which he really means he needs to win his rematch with Ra’s al Ghul to regain the very confidence he needs to lie effectively in the first place.

I love this part:
What we may well be seeing, at least for the rest of this season, is a literal divergence between what Oliver and the Arrow represented, with the mantle of the latter—the haunted billionaire playboy who protects Starling City, fights crime, and romances Felicity—being officially taken up by Ray to allow Oliver the space to explore alternative destinies.
:D

Welllll... Flash Spoilers/Speculation
It's possible the Reverse Flash came from the "prime" timeline, and saved Bruce's parents, thus stopping him from becoming Batman, and imprisoned Superman as a child somewhere he would never feel the sun... or something like that.
