Did ra's say he was around in 1854 or did I hear his story wrong?
Pretty good episode, Oliver was actually killing dudes again
I know suspension of disbelief and all that but even Iron Man crashed on his first few attempts.
Ray got the suit working minutes before and was flying like a pro
I can already imagine how Ray will exit the show for a little bit:
Billionaire Ray Palmer missing! No leads to his whereabouts!
Turns out his suit shrunk him and he can't reverse it.
Then we get a spin-off Atom show with him saving the subatomic world.
Well, to be fair I wouldn't be surprised if TommyOh, he changes, all right. He changes into (MAJOR SPOILER for The Affair)a statutory rapist.
I think I just realized something...
Oliver and Felicity never slept together
:O
So Oliver > Nyssa > Merlyn...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
From Bruce Wayne to Oliver Queen...Ra's lowering his standards to find an heir.
I'd still love a series where either Bruce or Ollie ACTUALLY becomes the next Ra's as a plot twist and the show takes a completely different direction.
That'd be a good twist but with the way things are going Roy will get murdered with a crow bar, but come back via the Lazarus Pit as Red Hood and Ollie will knock up Nyssa, who will give birth to Damian Queen, the next Arsenal.
I've seen worse episodes of the show but I don't think I've seen any that have had so many characters behave like they were being guided only by a writer's pen.
No Flash and Arrow for almost a month...
Well that was it,
This entire Ra's storyline has completely destroyed Oliver for me.
Those last few seconds were the final straw.
Im done with this series, so disappointing considering just last season it was my second favorite series on tv.
No Flash and Arrow for almost a month...
Yeah this is my thinking at the minute. I've tried to give this season a chance hoping it would get better but it's got to the point where I can't stand Oliver and most of major story lines. Hopefully by the time the show comes back from its hiatus I'll be ready to give it another shot but I'm not enjoying it so far and now we have plenty of other options for comic book shows I'll find this easier to drop.
The best advice I can give? Dump the show. Read recaps/reviews if you think you'll be back in S4, so you can keep current on what's happening, but otherwise quit it cold turkey. And join us in posting stupid shit about Tommy or writing audacious fan-fic about the show. Because it'd be nice for this thread to be God-tier again instead of 'OMG WHY IS ARROW SO BAD? NO FUN ALLOWED.'
So after watching the 3:16 promo. Ollie is going to accept and then from there they're going to rip Daredevil's story when he became leader of the hand?
Also
Sarah: "The league are trained in ancient and deadly arts. You would be no match with your military training"
3:15 - Diggle kills like 8 members with a handgun and assault rifle heh.
It feels like this show is becoming Batman and Friends
I feel like comic book writers really don't know what the fuck they're talking about and/or have zero clue just how brutal Special Forces training is.
"Where I come from, they make the Special Forces look like Kindergateners"
Yeah, no. That's utterly insulting, tbh.
l, but i suppose they're really pushing for oliver to be CW's Bruce Wayne so I guess I'll get used to it.
My issue here is that, and again this is my issue and I don't know if others share it, but...with Batman, Ra's always referred to him as "Detective." Like respect for him. Bats bested Ra's in combat, foiled his plans, and was the love of his daughter. There was a certain air of respect and they matched each other.Yeah man, it's a consistent theme in all forms of media regarding Batman and Ra's Al Ghul. He's asked Bruce to succeed him in the TV animated series, the movie Batman Begins, and even in the game Arkham City. But, Batman does not kill and always refuses to take his place despite the fact that he is actually in love with his daughter Talia (and she with him).
EDIT:
BTW, I'm completely okay with this. You all need to let it go, Batman ain't ever going to happen (at least not anytime soon) so just let Ollie fill in some of that role.
You heard right.Did ra's say he was around in 1854 or did I hear his story wrong?
More than okay with this.I can already imagine how Ray will exit the show for a little bit:
Billionaire Ray Palmer missing! No leads to his whereabouts!
Turns out his suit shrunk him and he can't reverse it.
Then we get a spin-off Atom show with him saving the subatomic world.
Slade will be the one murdering Roy, yes? That'd be a good twist but with the way things are going Roy will get murdered with a crow bar, but come back via the Lazarus Pit as Red Hood and Ollie will knock up Nyssa, who will give birth to Damian Queen, the next Arsenal.
Hey now Batman The Brave and The Bold was a fucking radical show.It feels like this show is becoming Batman and Friends
And the ending was good. If we needed any more confirmation that this show is essentially Batman dressed in a green hood, that sealed it.
Its small wonder then that can never quite tell the same story twice, and why even he struggles to articulate whats really driving his actions. If we are to believe what Oliver says in Nanda Parbat, that offhand lie to Laurel is a Russian nesting doll of untruths: He lies to protect Laurel from the truth, by which he really means he lies to protect Thea and justify his continued training with Malcolm, by which he really means he needs to win his rematch with Ras al Ghul to regain the very confidence he needs to lie effectively in the first place.
The AVclub review was pretty good
What we may well be seeing, at least for the rest of this season, is a literal divergence between what Oliver and the Arrow represented, with the mantle of the latterthe haunted billionaire playboy who protects Starling City, fights crime, and romances Felicitybeing officially taken up by Ray to allow Oliver the space to explore alternative destinies.
It's best to assume Bruce Wayne is dead/crippled in this world and this is a alternative universe where Oliver takes his place, at least partially. It's easier this way
