It is, but AMD will be releasing a new line of cards in a few months.

I'll probably wait. How many games apart from Star Citizen will need a Titan X to Max out?
Most PC exclusives are artsy indie games that run on toasters and then they port them to the Sony & Microsoft branded toasters

I love my ToastStation 4 though, home to gems like Infamous: Second Toast and #TOASTCLUB

Ouya is Farmer With Shotgun
XB1 is Yajirobe
PS4 is Android 18
Titan X is SSJ 4 Goku

Fixed.

Oh man.... PS3 is Cell joke would have been great back in the day!

As a Titan Black SLI owner, this was just what the doctored ordered. Release date is tomorrow, but I'll take two of the SC versions, thank you!

I'm honestly tempted, all this crazy VRAM shit has me a bit antsy about buying a 4GB card. But I think I'll wait for AMD's 300s before buying anything, and still hoping to spend $500 or less. And there's no way in hell I'm doing SLI/Crossfire so a single crazy GPU is quite tempting.

Kinda surprised/glad they're sticking to the $1000, I was worried after that $3000 shit.

Hmm, the price of the 295x2 makes it a bit more appealing to me and its got water cooling built in. I'm wondering why more people aren't excited about the fact that you can get that card for $300 less than the Titan and it even outperforms it.

From what I've heard, the PS4 is around equivalent to a GTX660 GPU.

In the GTX___ number series, the first number is simply the series (so 9 is newer than 7), and the next two are generally indicators of their position/power in that series (so 80 is better than 60). This means just from naming you can probably tell that a GTX980 is a few leagues faster than a GTX660, because it's two series newer (they skipped the 800 series on desktop) and two models faster.

A GTX760 would typically also be more powerful than a GTX660 despite still having the "60" in the model name, just because they're normally more optimised or improved in some form from being newer.

It's not completely right but that would be the basic gist of how it works.

Pretty much all of these cards fit between the Titan X and the GTX660 in terms of power, so I'll list them to demonstrate the gap between PS4 power and Titan X PC power:

GTX660, GTX670, GTX680, GTX760, GTX770, GTX780, GTX970, GTX980, Titan X

Even a GTX660 and a GTX780 are miles apart in power, so hopefully that illustrates it a bit.

Thanks for this reply!

Fantastic post!

1/32 double precision is interesting.

Do any games/applications actually use DP? I don't see why you would need that level of precision unless you are simulating galaxy collisions.

I believe it's just us today.

As far as I'm aware, yes.

No information on that right now. You'll definitely be able to buy anything and install it yourself, though, and that's pretty easy nowadays.

Regardless, the reference cooler is excellent, in my opinion, and dumps all that hot GM200 and 12GB RAM air out of your case instead of into it :)

Witcher 3 promo codes with this ??

What about drivers ?

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
What's the return policy on Nvidia.com? I can't find it in their ToS...

Hard to figure out what to get! I want to update my GTX 580 but this doesn't seem to be a good "gaming" card. 980 Ti makes more sense I think, which looks like it'll be a few months at best?

Edit: 24GB to 48 GB RAM? I have 8 haha. I thought Win 7 only supports 16GB?

And I don't mean it can't game it obvious can, but it's not gaming focused from what I'm understanding.
