Bloodborne: TV commercial debuts, customisation features detailed

Playing most of my games on PC (where I usually go with a much cleaner IQ) really spoiled me. It's sometimes really hard to go to console games who have some bad aliasing. I developed an eye for this stuff and became very picky about aliasing and framerate. At least the latter doesn't seem to be worrisome.

I play on PC too. I'm well aware of the benefits. I guess I can set my expectations accordingly between my $1100 (at the time) machine and a $400 console.

Not really sure why people are okay with that. It's deceptive marketing.

By how much, though? It looks super awful in one of the old builds that IGN played in their 18 minute demo.
People have been streaming the full game. Looks much better than it did in the IGN videos.

Youtube compression definitely doesn't create aliasing. It's the game. I hope it won't be too distracting.

30 fps (not even locked from what I've read) but aliasing is still clearly visible. From should finally hire some competent programmers.

Souls games were never know for their great graphics. Doesn't stop them (especially Demon Soul) from being great games. I think your concern is unfounded.

I also set expectations based on what else I see on running on the same 400$ machine.

I know.

Can't find the right gif, so I'll leave a "WTF!"

Don't have to be fine with it but that's how it is. Ads for every product on earth are touched up to look better than they actually are.

That mid run weapon change is so good!!!

like what? and don't you dare say The Order.

I'll give you Infamous - but obviously the actual game content was lacking. I'd handle nasty shimmering if it means the game's content is much deeper. That's the tradeoff here.

Infamous is a pretty good example though. It's even an open world game were much more stuff is happening simultaneously. "Deeper content" doesn't impact performance. If you mean what I think it means.

You know a games awesome when all you can complain about is some of its technical difficulties.

That's always a good sign, I agree. So far we only complained about a boring loading screen and aliasing.

I strongly advise you to not buy this game. You will save money and headaches.

I hate when PR insert completely inappropriate songs in trailers (Ubisoft also)

I think the music was completely fine and the trailer fantastic. I hate when forum lurking basement dwelling headbangers complain about the music choice in trailers every fucking time.

Great commercial.

Having seen some people stream it, the footage definitely makes me think its an older build. The game looks much improved, especially from the 18 minute IGN video.

I haven't been this excited for a damn game in forever. I seriously feel like I'm going to explode if I don't get my hands on this fucking thing soon. AHHHHHHH

yeah, but you're ignoring my point therein - the game content was lacking. wasn't a bad game by any means but it definitely got repetitive halfway through the (short) campaign. and we can't blame launch window because the game was delayed also.

give me jaggies if it means they're focusing on a deep 45-50 hour game.

I still prefer this song/trailer combo for Dark Souls

Oh fuck you Book Depository !

The release date for Collector's Edition Strategy Guide is now 10 April 2015 the fuck : (

On Amazon's page for the guide it has this info...

=> The page count is increased from 400 to 528 pages.
=> The Collector's Edition guide is delayed to include important game changes applied through the Day-One-Update, ensuring that it will be up-to-date and that online-only elements are covered.

I feel like with Sony's help on the technical side of things, a compromise shouldn't have to be made.

Why? The only reason I could see myself not getting this game is if the gameplay also isn't very good.

Looked around and it seems that it's pushed back everywhere. In US it's even later 14th April.

Edit: Oh I see.

The game content doesn't impact the performance! "Deeper content" or mechanics don't impact the performance. There is way more stuff happening in First Light simultaneously on the whole map. That's the measurement here.

This is by far the most ridiculous claim I've heard this year. Deep game content impacting performance....

Yep, I'm pretty disappointed given how impressed I am with layout and content of the Dark Souls 2 guide I just picked up at Barnes and Noble.

But it'll be more fun going in blind. I'll worry about where I'm putting stats probably, but otherwise it'll be great with nearly everyone going in with no trail lines. Plus I want the guide as up to date as possible if I'm referencing stats.

Who cares if a game takes 45-50 hours if its just cramed with "content?"
*cough*
DA:I

I don't think having no jaggies is why Infamous was lacking content variety.

you're not getting what i'm saying at all, but that's fine bc you just want to complain about this game anyway.

How do you know they weren't having a hell of a time keeping the game running properly? and that's why First Light had to be seperate content instead of put into Second Son to begin with?

The best looking games on PS4 so far, mostly have been short and disappointing and LIMITED experiences.

You got me. I got myself a PS4 and pre-ordered the game so I can have an incentive to complain about the game.

How do you know they weren't having a hell of a time keeping the game running properly? and that's why First Light had to be seperate content instead of put into Second Son to begin with?

So what? SO. WHAT?

The best looking games on PS4 so far, mostly have been short and disappointing and LIMITED experiences.

I agree. Nothing that's in any way related to perfomance though. Jesus. FUCKING. CHRIST.

This may not be the place to ask this but here goes...

Is your character always in the same outfit or are there different looks or equipment pieces as you go along? I know next to nothing about the game other than what I've skimmed through so I apologize if it's a stupid question.
