Wish I could go digital and preload the game but the collector's edition was too tempting, and I'm not going to double-dip.
This game is going to be something special isn't it? I'm not sure if i'm up to the challenge tbh.
There isn't any die and lose your souls-type of mechanic in this game right? Also is co-op drop in drop out? Or is it only in certain places?
Of course there's a die and lose your souls mechanic, it's a Souls game in all but name, after all. Don't be intimidated though, because as you said, this game is going to be something special.
lolDon't know if this review has been posted yet. not really an in depth review just letting us know what we're in for.
Uh what does that headset stuff even mean?
Always the Sunday before release.
Cool, nice find. That makes it more interesting.I just found out that the song was commissioned specifically for this commercial:

I hate when PR insert completely inappropriate songs in trailers (Ubisoft also)
nyone who has the game is it easy to get co-op going? Or is it like that Dark Souls 2 bullshit?

hmm do we know if there is "soul memory" from DS2 or something like it in BB? I hope not
The multiplayer system in Bloodborne differs from those in Demons Souls and Dark Souls, he explains. As for the matchmaking system criticised in Dark Souls II, we are using a level-matching system similar to the previous titles I have directed.
From what I've read, there isn't. Pretty sure the legendary big M said so himself.hmm do we know if there is "soul memory" from DS2 or something like it in BB? I hope not
Man, I know I'm in the minority here but I really don't like the look of the Threaded Cane. I want to do a Dex build though because I've never done one and that seems to be the obvious starting weapon. The cane form just looks so ineffective (I don't think I've even seen a video of someone using it in non-whip form). The other weapons are so visceral and raw and there's just no ooomph from that cane. I'm tempted to just go strength again...
I feel like I'm the only one who really likes the song in the trailer =[ reminds me of Wolf's Rain OST somehow. Yoko Kanno <3

You do lose your blood edges when you die and mob enemies can and will pick up your dropped blood edges. If they picked up your dropped cash, they will have glowing eyes or something to differentiate them from the mobs that don't have your loot.
Co-op is summons based, I think. You should be able to summon pretty much anywhere in Yharnam except inside the Chalice Dungeon because that dungeon is procedurally generated (you have to summon outside just before going into the Chalice Dungeon).
Sounds good, what's blood edges and what is its significance? When you summon can you just pick someone on your friends list easily or is it a random player that end up in your game?

Man, Ready At Dawn really needs to spend a week giving this game some proper AA. Looks great other than all of that shimmering. Oh well...
BTW -- have they revealed when the reviews will go live???
RAD?
Reviews should be 10 A.M EST on Monday.
I just mean to say that Ready At Dawn, thus far, has the best AA solution on PS4 by far. This game could really use it.
if it meant playing BB w black bars, lol nope
Man, even though nothing will top the Bartholomew trailer for Dark Souls that was still pretty damn great.
would be well worth the tradeoff, since I never noticed them in the order, regardless that probably wouldn't be required to get the AA solution working in BB
I've never heard the term 'blood edges' to refer to it before, but it's basically this game's equivalent of souls. You spend them to level up, buy gear from merchants, and pay for upgrades. It's basically currency for everything. When you die, you lose it and need to pick it up on your last life or they're gone for good.
As for co-op, you don't just use a friend list. You basically use an item to summon others and if someone else is using a corresponding item saying that they want to be summoned then they'll be placed in your world. This game does allow you to set a specific pass phrase for your game though, and other players with the same phrase are the only ones who will be summoned. This can be used so that you and your friends all share a phrase, or so a larger community like GAF can all be using the same phrase and therefore only co-op with other Gaffers.

I dont want to give away any more information so as to not spoil any major surprises or spoilers for you. But I do have one cool piece of news for those of you who have an official PlayStation headset. You will be able to upload a custom Bloodborne audio mode, tuned specifically to bring the unique world of Yharnam to life, to your headset through the PlayStation 4 headset app.
Some people aren't crazy about the AA, but I am all kinds of HYPED for the BB!
game was designed around those bars, bb wouldn't have been and it would've been an atrocious view to play an action game with.
I'm glad you know about the overhead on ps4 to know the AA could've been better.
also a vast majority of souls players are laughing at the thought that black bars would be worth the tradeoff. that's insane.
It just wouldn't be a Bloodborne thread without some clown going "well if The Order can do it...!"
C'mon, son. Send some of dat Sony money to From's AA department. Everyone knows that Japan Studio = instant access to tech at RAD, Ice Team, ND, etc. etc. etc... /s
