any HBG mains around? I'm thinking of picking it up

what's the best normal S bowgun between rathian/najarala/tidal najarala?

what about pierce? I see everyone talk up gravios but holy cow that deviation and reload speed.. how are you supposed to use that thing? just wait until you have siege mode opening or what?

Molten Tigrex is the strongest normal gun but it's endgame stuff. I've stuck with Najarala since high rank and I'm still using it in G3.

I LOVE the Daora pierce gun. Looks and sounds badass, and is made for limiter-off play.

Full chameleos G set.

Charm has Hearing +6 (minimum of +3 to activate HG) and carving +7 with three slots.

I then simply used 5 slots to gem in Asylum jewels for the protection (by the way, a defensively honed weapon, divine blessing, and Defender Hi is so powerful), 5 slots to gem in the tectonic jewels for Tremor res, and One slot to gem in the Heat res jewel to remove heat surge. There should be two slots left over.

I haven't been able to get a large elder gem to make his sleeves and got tired of trying after countless battles. I also honed for defense and use Divine blessing skill and food. Sooooo great.

Is there any way to break Basarios back other than mounting him? My guild quest only has one point where I can jump from (without using a wep that can do it, I use hammer) and he never goes to that area.

I've searched quite a bit for this, but haven't had any luck.

Like I was saying a little earlier, grab a bowgun. You can aim it at his back all day and it'll eventually break.

Another option - Bring Barrel Bomb L's with you. When he leaves the room, he'll go to another area and burrow into the ground. Wake his ass up with a bomb to the back.

Ya know, i'm not sure what to gem in for Rath Z. I have a sharpness *+6 2 slot tali that gave me back razor sharp and used the slots to get HGE but with the slots I have left i'm at a loss.

It's there a way to be less influenced by elemental damage? My ukanlos set has like -25 against fire, -15 against thunder etc. Also, to get new better IG, I just have to do a lot of quests with IG bias and hope to get lucky?

What do folks do for armor when you main a ranged and a melee weapon?

Seems like it would be tough to maintain both a blademaster armor set, and a gunner set. Is the gunner set required if using a light bowgun?

Make a general Gunner and Blade set first and then make specialized sets later.

Felyne kitchen skill. Eat bread and veggies for ____caller skills that up your resistances.

As for IG, GQ IG is relic farming so that's a whole separate thing but yes, you want to do GQs with IG bias and preferably very high level (130+) for the rarity 10 stuff. The monster you fight determines the weapon skin you get so if that's important to you check the wiki. You can also do RARE! GQ farming with saving and reloading but that's boring.

If you want better crafted IGs you upgrade through kinsect feeding.

Just bit the bullet and used some resources to build a velociprey S set (mostly done). Using the royal line of LBG as suggested, will be giving him a shot soon. Thanks!

Anybody want to do some Wycoon upgrade quests in G-Rank 1-3 that I haven't been able to get around to until now? Preferably people that need them as well but anybody that just likes to play are cool too.

EDIT: Nobody joining, I'll just set up the room again later at a better time.

I tried but the room didn't exist.

So the game has stopped looking for the CPP when I boot it up. I have to manually activate it in the options. Any way to fix this?

In the main menu when you exit out of the game, go to options and set CPP to on and it'll look for it every boot up. It won't automatically look for it if it disconnects mid-game like if you close the 3DS lid though.

I've gotten my friend and another GAFfer to G1. One spot open in the room. G1 keys. They are in HR armor so there may be deaths.

Dalamadur. Lol Fuck this guy man. Use my gunlance, like a guide suggested, get rekt. Use a my bow, get rekt. GS, get rekt etc.

I just don't understand how to do this fight. Anyone want to help me? Pretty please.

I've fought him a few times now and I'm not great, but I have a few tips.

If you see his feet, beat the crap out of them. It stumbles him up too. I think his feet are his weakest part as well, so beating them up is good.
If his face is laying down like he's knocked out, beat up his face.
If you see arrow, climb up his abs/tail/whatever as far as you can and beat up the top of it wherever your attacks don't deflect. Use bombs if you can.
If you see the red part of the edge of his tail is available to be hit, beat that up.

If you can't do any of those, beat up wherever you can find it that doesn't deflect.
His red belly center hurts for some reason. I don't know what kind of damage-over-time it does, but it hurts and adds up.

The Najaralas win out over Rathian's since they reload faster and have a more consistent upgrade path. It seems like the regular and tidal are more or less equivalent once the affinity is factored in.

Gravios is basically just for crouch-firing. Daora's is better for general-purpose pierce shot, though I've had to make due with Zinogre's for awhile (despite its lack of level 3 clips).

Are you G? If so the crimson fatty one is absolutely amazing and will work for both pierce and normal.

Molten Tigrex is the strongest normal gun but it's endgame stuff. I've stuck with Najarala since high rank and I'm still using it in G3.

just hit g2 so I"m still a ways off from crimson fatalis and molten tigrex. I think i'll go with the najarala for now and I'll definitely look into daora, thanks for the advice all :)

Ha okay, I'll give this another shot.

I might post in here a little later tonight, need help on Azure Rathalos farming (HR6). Need some scales, 3 tails, and a Rathalos ruby to make the Rath Soul set.

I open a gathering hall to raise my HR, some people come in, we chill and chat, then they all embark on a quest without me.

Come on now.

Skills.

I'm 140 hours in and all I have ever had was auto guard via a charm necklace and attack up.

How do I get other skills? Decorations? Armor sets?

I've held more than my own in GH6* quests with others, but would like to learn more opportunities to improve on.

I hear about skills that boost your weapons sharpness or make your roll/dodge better. Is there a place that can show me how to get these skills?

The easiest way is to get full armor sets.

Mixed sets can give great skills, but are often not as easy to spot. These are some example of good mixed armor sets:

Does anyone know a good method for farming Frenzy Shards? I want them for the multiplication of Kelbi Horns and Screamer Sacs. Right now mainly Screamer Sacs. I'm going to be farming Black Diablos and Diablos for awhile for various things and soloing these monsters uses a ton of sonic bombs. Killing G. Jaggi cannot be the most efficient way to get them, but I haven't been able to find a quest that consistently gives a good amount of frenzy shards.

You can search through all the armor skills there and click on them to see what all armor sets give points in certain skills and what the individual pieces give points for. Also, you have probably found a bunch of talismans by this point, so go to the red box in your house and search through equipment. Talismans come with randomized skills, so they could potentially have useful skills for you to work towards.

Thank you, I do have a IG over 1000 raw, and I have it honed for defense which I love. I already have its last upgrade, but I can still feed kinsect, what is the point to keep feeding the kinsect? I also love that I have the max speed on it and the things it ask me to upgrade is stamina and power which puts my speed down. I am also wondering if those IG that you get by doing Guild Quests can be honed, because it would suck to lose my defense

And as far as better armor for defense, and sharpness+1, I have an ukanlos set, there's chances of getting even better armor just doing random GQ?

Which set should I be focused on completing if I'm only just now getting to the second village? It seems like new ones are constantly popping up.

I use hammers, if that helps.

Are there a combination list of foods that shows what buff it provides? I'm constantly spending a bit of time mixing food around to look at buffs, would help if there's a chart.
