What do you think this is hinting at?

Personally I'm hoping that PS4 finally is getting Logitech and Fanatec wheel support.

As a Fanatec owner, pCARS support on PS4 is massive news. Shame MS couldn't follow suit for Forza, but a PS4 is now on the shopping list.

MS/Sony really should prioritize previous peripheral support.

Arcade sticks and wheels aren't cheap and how many of these things do you want strewn around your home?

These things take up space.

It amazes me MS won't even support the Forza branded wheels.

I'm sure they would if they could, but they went with a different protocol on Xbox One to support higher quality peripherals. Unfortunately this means XInput devices like the CSR and CSR Elite don't work, but new peripherals should benefit in the long run (when they appear).

Logitech got out of the console peripheral business a long time ago

I know that, but their excuse for not providing wheel support on PS4 was that their wheels lacked a security chip.

Guess what, these Fanatec wheels don't have such a security chip either.

we need support for all old peripherals.. Sony and Microsoft really need to step up and change their systems or release a dongle

The Logitech wheels are over 5 years old now. Really old tech and in a completely different league compared to other modern wheels available today.

You guys need to move on.

Both G25 and G27 are better than many actual wheels.

And they were huge investment. It's normal ask for the support.

Logitech, please?

Polyphony is the best hope for Logitech at this point. They're the one console developer that had/has a very tight relationship with Logitech. And Sony will basically bend over backwards for GT. So if support doesn't happen with GT7, then Logitech support on console is dead.

The fact that my Forza Motorsport branded CSR does not work with Xbox One severely pisses me off to no end. I really hope the compatibility Thomas has been talking about is an adapter or firmware update, cause this is some bullshit. Thank god I can use it for PCars on PS4 at least.

PD moved to Thrustmaster in the more recent games

Knew Logitech were lying from the start - really hope when the Immersion patents expire at the end of this year that full platform support will arrive for the G25/G27

What does confuse me is that AFAIK Fanatec used to piggyback off the old Logitech direvers so how have they got support unless PCars paid for it? Perhaps Im talking rubbish but dont they use Immersions FFB?!?

I know, but a lot of GT users still have DFGT's, G25',s and G27's. High quality wheels aren't cheap, especially in the case of the Thrustmaster wheels which costs as much (T300) or more (T500) than the PS4 itself.

No. The DFGT is one of the finest wheels for less than silly money you can buy.
All those buttons and dials work fantastically in a whole heap of games.

I'm not saying that they are terrible wheel or anything but I couldn't see myself play with a gear driven wheel ever again.

Still astounded by the news that Fanatec kit will work with pCARS on PS4. I was holding out hope but never really thought it would come to pass.

Looks like all those 'technical' arguments were nothing but a smokescreen.

What's a good replacement for a G27 if it's so outdated? I can't find anything for a decent price that includes a clutch.
