Sorry, I meant for it to be informative. Should have PM'd. Will do so in the future. Apologies.

I don't agree that PM is the way to go. By posting in the thread you are informing both the seller and any prospective buyers, possibly saving someone from spending more money on an item than it is worth if a seller disregards a private heads-up. And besides, we have an unfortunately notoriously unreliable PM system. What if I PM you to let you know that an item is overpriced, you don't get the message and so don't change the listing, and so I'm left thinking you're a jerk and avoid doing business with you in future when it was entirely a communication issue and your intentions are good?

I think posting about this keeps us honest and I appreciate it, both as a seller and as a buyer.

edit: Just to be clear, I don't think mgs2master2 was trying to rip anybody off or otherwise be dishonest. I am just saying I think we as a community benefit from a concerted, mutual effort to be transparent and look out for each other. :)

WTS:

Various manga titles and some DVD's (in english), but the manga is all in Japanese except for the IKAGAMI titles on the far right.

All of the manga is in excellent condition, haven't been touched in awhile.

Titles Include: (GIVE ME AN OFFER)
Fairy Tail (probably like $8 a copy? IDK prices.)
World God Only Knows ($10)
Kuroko no Basuke (Kuroko's Basketball) ($10)
Slam Dunk ($10)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ($12)

TXmnbtr.jpg

Pricing may vary, but shipping in the US (I live in the US) will be discussed (probably won't be much unless you order all of them). I might include shipping because I'm not exactly sure of the prices of the manga, but feel free to correct me or give me an offer!

Also,

PS2-JP Kingdom Hearts Final Mix - OBO (send me a PM or something, yo)

I'll be honest on the pricing with this. The price fluctuates so hard on this item, I can't exactly put a number on it. But I'm willing to part with it for a comfortable number :D thanks.

(ebay's cheapest for NEW (unused) was around $140, so I am looking for around that number. Even though there are some that are listed for $500 that are new, I can't really apprehend why it's listed for that much.

But what the hell do I know :D

(bought this while I was in JP)

The only things that aren't NM on this is the outer plastic cover and the actual box, (not the disc's case).

The disc has never been touched, and the extra stuff (black box) included has never been opened. I have not opened it, but I will open it if someone is interested. (or go watch an unboxing.)

I will put more pictures up if anyone is interested!

Sorry friend, but I completely disagree with this. A big difference exists between mispriced / over-priced goods and out-right scamming.

If someone feels that a seller is blatantly scamming, then a level-headed public post would appreciated; but publicly calling out someone for over-pricing something is down-right ignorant--either PM them or just let it go. The end result will be one of two things: 1) someone who's not intelligent enough to make educated purchasing decisions will over-pay for the item; or 2) the item will remain unsold until the seller either drops the price or takes the sale elsewhere.

That's what I was trying to say before, and I completely agree with you, I am not the internet and sometimes a heads up about a lower prices is very appreciated as a buyer.

A $10 difference wont make a seller as a scalper for me, so there is no problem with someone selling, but if I can get an item on a lower price I appreciate a little heads up for me as a potential buyer. (A $600 difference, though...)

I completely disagree with you on this. There is a massive difference between whining over something being priced higher than you want it to be and simply stating that an item can be found somewhere at a lower price. The difference being that the former is explicitly prohibited in our rules, while the latter is simply informing potential buyers that there is a better price somewhere else.

Also, I take issue with your line: "someone who's not intelligent enough to make educated purchasing decisions." Seriously? It is generally assumed that items, unless rare, are going to be priced for less than MSRP in this thread. As such, if someone posts something that can be readily obtained at a retail store, then the general user is going to assume that the price posted is a reasonable one. I fail to understand why you would insult someone's intelligence over that presumption. Conversely, if another user simply states that an item is available somewhere else for a cheaper price, then that user is simply doing a service to others on this forum.

Again, there is a difference between calling out price scalpers (Rule 3) and what occurred in this instance. He probably could have done without the trailing ellipsis, but otherwise he just stated that the case could be found at a lower price at retail. I've dealt with mgs2master2 before, so I'm about 100% confident that he would have never consciously try to "rip someone off". However, I really don't think that's what the other guy was trying to say he was doing in this case.

I don't know. There comes a point where we have to assume that buyers in this thread are thinking creatures capable of using the internet. I don't care for sellers that overprice because I know that the market should tell them their prices are too high. Most of the time they're just wasting their time trying to squeeze a few extra bucks. At the same time I don't care for buyers who buy overpriced stuff because they obviously made the conscious decision to buy a product at the advertised price AND failed to search Amazon, eBay, Gamestop, Walmart, Target, etc. for lower prices. I may have PM'd one or two sellers about their prices when their posts explicitly said "I don't know how much this goes for..." but other than that, I tend to stay out of pricing discussions. If a seller knows how much an item is going for and chooses to sell it a bit over that price, calling him or her out publicly just seems like violating rule 3 because then it seems like you're shaming them into lowering their prices. I mean noone ever calls out sellers who sell something too cheap because they don't research product values do they?

That's just my opinion though. Might be wrong.

just to be perfectly clear on this topic since it came from my post, I had no idea what the going price for it was. I mean I looked at amazon and the lowest priced there is 26 dollars shipped without tax. I thought I was honestly giving a deal by having it for 10 dollars. I did not know that gamestop had it for 10. Considering I got the case as a gift and its brand new (Pulled it out of the package to just take pictures) I had no clue. next time i will look into gamestop and see what is going on there too.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like that. I'm not accusing you or any other seller of trying to scam some buyers. I'm just saying either way the market should tell you if your price is okay or not. If someone buys it, you'll both be happy. If noone buys it, you'll know to drop your price. Someone could always PM you to ensure that you're informed of the product's price, but publicly posting about it seems like it'd force you to drop the price which (at the very least) seems to be against the spirit of rule 3.
