PlayStation Network Thread | April 2015

I cannot for the life of me get my Vita memory data to restore from a backup on the PS3. I've tried about five times with two different backups and every time it freezes on restore.

Is there anything I need to keep in mind if I decide to just transfer my game saves?

The Vita's full backups are garbage, it's much more reliable to back up the games individually at the expense of system settings.

As for saves, those should be linked to gamedata - which means no transferring those individually (unless you do it on PC, and even then it's a bunch of bullshit as you need game data to resync anyways).

Other than redownloading updates nothing really comes to mind

decided to just wait til black friday to get a PS4 after all.

Going to finally pick up a PS3 now though instead, which model is the best?
Slim model is best model for reasons stated below.
Unless you want backwards compatibility with the ps2 badly and want to risk it dying soon but even then i think CFW allows ps2 emulation

People irrationally hate on the super slim, but but it's perfectly fine. Smallest footprint of the three, whisper quiet at all times and newer, smaller, cooler guts. It's fine. And you can still get it new these days, unlink the first slim.

Thanks. I'm going to go game-by-game I guess. So I guess I need to individually back up games that have save data I care about? I'll just redownload the rest in due time.

Not asking for them to give me then for free but seriously not expecting insane times either.

It literally feels like I am underwater and one arm in a cast.

My statement was more about turning sensitivity up making it even less precise. Example in duke turning it to almost zero actually improved the aiming.

So don't go on about free headshots, it is not what I am asking for.

Found the motion aiming this is perfect. Almost.

Megaman collection would play sooooo nice as a ps2 classic on psn. Seeing gradius makes me dream. Yeah ,is not gonna happen

Well these are the PSX Megaman/Rockman games that were released
Rockman 1-6, Rockman 8, Rockman X3-6
PS2 had X7, X8 and Command Mission

Going with the PSX games, SNES X1, X2 and Rockman 7 are the only games missing, but the rest would be Vita compatible.

I'll ask the reasonable Vita fans that end up here a hard question: Do any of you really want clickable sticks on a system with the form factor of the Vita on a hypothetical next system? I think they would be a disaster. You could not comfortably use it on a stick that size while holding the system as you do. It works on something as big and thick as the Wii U gamepad because you can properly brace the thing.

L2/R2 of course makes all the sense in the world.

Do I want them? Actually, not particularly.

Do I think they could work? Yes. I'm not sure how you hold your Vita, but how I hold mine makes it so that the clicking analog buttons would be 100% usable.

Realistically too many "little parts" = durability issues. Bad idea to include such a function on something as small as the analogs on the Vita.

If they really wanted to adding some sort of tiny ass button somewhere else would work better. Games that double up duties of the analog stick + L3/R3 well tough shit for those games honestly.

If they wanted to make some money , Vita compatible games are( not all are available) , rockman 1-6, 8, x3-x6, rockman dashmegaman legends 1 and 2, super adventure rockman and the spin off tron bon .from PSP land we could get maverick hunter x and mega man power up but they are lazy enough to let us have both in An.

I don't really need them, but at least for my hands/grip, they would work without a problem. That said, I have small/thin manhands, maybe it's different for bigger pawed people.

And best wishes of recovery to cardinal at this point, just catched up to the thread!

No. I think using the bottom corners of the screen is good enough - as long as devs doesn't map something frequently used there, that is (running is fine. Melee not so much).
Also, what Parakeetman said.

I'd be happy if home consoles got rid of clickable sticks.

I don't think some money is gonna walk well for Capcom :p
I'm grateful for the games we got but it's not like these classics will sell gangbusters; case in point, Megaman X4 and X5 may have gotten their MOST sales from when they were $1 each as opposed to when they were both released for $5.99 each.

That Vita grip looks nice, might have to get one too if the price is right.

Got great deal with PS3 Eye + Move controller so bought them, just ordered Gal*Gun and the wait begins.
I heard there was demo for Gal*Gun, is it still up on Jpn PSN?

Regarding the Mega Man series on Vita, I think all Capcom has to do is port over the PS1 versions of MM5 and 6 to the West and add Mega Man X 3 and X6 as a PS1 Classics to 'complete' the Mega Man PS1 series collection.

Sadly, that excludes the Legends series; Capcom couldn't port those over even if they wanted to due to VA issues (apparently one of the US/EU VA's was involved in a crime or something, so they don't want to associate with them or something). They could localize the PSP ports of the Legends 1 and 2 that JP got but it still wouldn't be that great due to missing the NA/EU VA (a big highlight of the Legends series was its cast of characters; losing their VA would be a sour compromise in getting the games on PSN :l).

A good thing is that if you have a CFW Vita, you could load the PS1 ISO's to the Memory Card and play the game that way, but that opens up a whole other set of issues (downgrading firmware, losing access to PSN, ect).

....At least we got the first 4 of of the Classic series on PSN alongside X4 and X5 :). Those two were very recent additions to PSN too, so their is home of Capcom releasing more PS1 classics or PSP games in the future on PSN :D.

I don't see why the western installed base should suddenly stop buying the localizations so they will keep coming for a while.
The Vita is niche but one that keeps buying games.

I've never understood where these strong localization sales actually come from. Looking at the UK charts every week, nothing this year has sold well (both Neptunia games did pretty badly, Criminal Girls too, Toukiden opened weakly).

Guess USA is making up the difference.

Guess will have to wait for gameplay videos. :/

Those portraits though. There expressions are complete opposite to what is happening in the game. ugh.

Game looks phenomenal, yes. I would buy this in a heartbeat if it got announced over here too, just for the visuals alone aha. The premise sounds very interesting too though.

What?

Mine just renewed on the 10th, and it auto-renews whatever subscription you bought to activate the PS+ membership. I had signed up with a 3 month, and it renewed me another 3 months at the 3 month price.

Are grips really that necessary? I mean after years of handhelds plus MoHan with claw grip, you get used to holding it without any cramps.

I've never had any issue holding my Vita/3DS/PSP/GBA/etc. I mean there are bad controls with some games, but I never felt pain or discomfort.

I mean it helps some people but I didn't think that it was that bad and necessary for so many.

Also Ray Gigant in 3 months? Excited. I like how the perspective shifts and changes according to your character, terrain, and enemy. They nailed the aesthetic so far.

If you are referring to the pics I posted they add L2 / R2 buttons for you (they actually touch back panel for you if you press those buttons. Purely for remote play purpose IMO).

Bummer that Titan Souls doesn't seem great :( I was looking forward to it on Vita.

EDIT: Anyone else getting this when they try to buy a $20 PSN Code on Amazon?

I just redeemed my CoinStar coins for an Amazon card to buy a PSN game..... Is this happening to anyone else, or just me for some reason?

I mean grips in general for all handhelds. I'm surprised at how many people find handhelds uncomfortable and unplayable without a grip...
