Weeks ago, even.

According to the translator, it is 99% translated, expect some minor error and typo here and there I guess, since the editing is not finished.

So where does this one sit on the timeline between the trails games? Or is it a spin off? Don't want to get needlessly spoiled when trails 2 is a few months away (hopefully...).

Ooh, nice. Time to take the dust off my PSP

It's basically Zwei 3, but they called it a Kiseki game for maketing purposes

This one is not related to the trails series at all...different genre too, this one is action rpg.

What? I did not know about this game.

Seems like a slower Ys Seven. I'm okay with this.

Thanks for letting us know OP! Time to get more PSP games.

Cool I always wanted to play this, I tried the demo once. I found it weird XSeed didn't localise it since it's not a direct sequel to any of the Legend of Heroes games.

Here's my OT for the Japanese version, for people who are curious: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=483085

Also, although the game does not have a place in the general Kiseki timeline as of yet, it does seem to take place in the same world, as there is a common link (the Sciencia sea west of Zemuria, and also a couple of other elements). Not really particularly useful info at this point, but something to throw out there.

I really liked the game, and I think calling it Zwei 3 is selling it short. The action and platforming and dungeon design are on a whole other level compared to the Zwei games. They're just so bland by comparison.

Fucking adored this game from top to bottom, and like Aeana says, called it Zweii 3 sells it short.

I'd easily recommend it to anybody.

Confirmations that the game is indeed good? Hell yeah!

I don't follow the Kiseki games at all, so I hope to not be super lost here, but I'll get this one ASAP.

I'll pass by the OT once I start.

Maybe XSeeD can license the fan translation and release the game in english, like they did previously for some of their games?

UI at the top reminds me a little of Last Ranker.

Anyway, I'll be playing in an emulator too (also for not being able to use my PSP right now).

How does level design compare to the Ys games (OiF, AoN and Origins)?

I think this is one of the best games Falcom has made in recent years. I'm hopeful their future action RPGs (upcoming on the Vita and PS4) will be of comparable quality. Very glad to see an English translation has been released.

It's a good thing there are fan translators around. You can't depend on XSEED.

Please explain how you've reached this conclusion, Mr. Passive-Aggressive. ;)

...On the subject of Nayuta no Kiseki, the game is amazing (at least in terms of graphics, gameplay and music, though I have some issues with the story), and I really wish we COULD'VE worked on it. If you guys play it, I'm certain you'll have a fantastic experience.

I do think this game looks pretty nice. I'm terribly, terribly out of the loop re: modern JRPGs, but it's been a while since I've seen something so charmingly "old-school JRPG" in aesthetics. I'll strongly consider picking this up, although it'll be a long while 'til I can get to it since I've launched a massive Squaresoft retrospective playthrough series.

Really like the osp translation scene. Each new "discovery" makes me feel like Last Ranker and Super Robot Wars Z2(besides menus) are closer and closer. Plus its so easy to play em on real hardware.

Nayuta is a great game. Dungeons are well designed and it has some amazing boss fights.
Still hoping this gets the Evolution treatment at some point.

I'm probably the only person hoping for King's Field Additional to be translated for the system at this point. ;_;7

"The Evolution treatment" means making the music worse and adding gratuitous amounts of extra skeevy scenes. I don't want to see Noi getting her bikini ripped off.

Sweet. Just ordered the game from Amazon, surprised it's pretty cheap. Need to go finish up Ys already while that gets here.

Great game. Started playing it about 6 months ago or so when some of the names and quests weren't fully translated but it was easy enough to understand. It's a little slow at first but picked up after the first few hours imo.

It basically picks up after the first boss. You get access to stuff (sword moves, Noi's abilities) that makes the game more fun, and the first boss is just not very well designed either.

Out of nowhere lol.

That reminds me though.....

There is a fan-translation of Romancing Saga 1 on the SNES sort of completed on another site in English (was done weeks ago as well). They're just looking over the script and doing corrections on that and any bugs found but the state it's in now is the state the translator was going to release it on before others started helping out.

I'll need to relocate it again and Idk if that's thread worthy. If so I'll make it later.

This makes me 1,000x more interested. It seemed like such a waste to use the Kiseki name and style and not have the story be anything at all relevant to the vast lore of the Kiseki worldview.

I'm ok if it's at least possible that it could be relevant at some point. Better than no hopes, no dreams!

Zero Evo had skeevy scenes? I don't remember any fanservice in it.

The first boss, as in the masked thing that knocks the platform around so it spins 360 degrees? I *loved* that boss -- I thought it was really clever, and visually astounding for a PSP game. That's actually one of the game's standout bosses IMHO for being so unique and memorable.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess!

When RS2 gets translated, that'll be the day. Strange that people took on 1, skipped 2, and did a adequate translation of 3.

Not that much. But Ao Evo is loaded with lots of crappy stuff. for example

Whhhaaaaat?

I actually already own it, I remember ordering it with Brandish a while ago, I can't believe both games are already playable in English.

Does it work on PPSSPP?

The reasoning for doing 1 now was the translator was on the original team that first took on the project but overtime they drifted apart and the project died. The decision to finish up the translation was more personal, returning to finish unfinished business, which I find commendable.

There are people right now working on Romancing SaGa 2 and 3. A spanish translation was finished not too long ago and one of the people on that team is assisting in a re-translated english patch. I have no idea what's happening with 2 but the translator is still around and says the project hasn't died yet.

I don't know specifically if you can respond to this at all but thats fine if you can't. I'd much rather support XSeed on translation if something was actually possibly going to happen on that front, however based on what you've said Nayuta in reference in the past it doesn't seem like something you guys are largely pursing.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is ... "hypothetically" is it worth my time to go ahead and buy an import from Amazon and give this game a shot like I want. Or.... could it maybe at some point by potentially advantageous to wait.

Also, is all the story stuff for the most part fully translated? Seemed confusing based on the first post and the subsequent update that have been released?

Well, I was going to say, make a Vita-enhanced version...but I see your point.

I was hoping that this day would come. Bought the LE when I saw it going for ~20€ on Amazon. I wasn't even aware at the time that somebody was working on a translation. Never even bothered to open the box. Now's the time....

It's a no-go for us as it stands, unfortunately. I can't see us pursuing this game at all unless it gets ported to another platform at some point in the future. It's a shame, as the game really is quite excellent, which is why I really hope Falcom does remake it at some point.

The only thing Nayuta needs is to get released on a system you guys can justify putting a localised version (considering the amount of text) - but again, the former part is up to Falcom.

I concur, especially with the bolded part. :(

I thought it was depending on Brandish's performance, I guess we know now how that performed.
