Really don't think it's going to do well at this price if true.

The skateboarding/X Games craze died down a long time ago.

Why do I feel like there's going to be tons of DLC even with the full price?

They've said as much. It's not going to become a yearly series so they instead want to build off of the base game rather than just doing small upgrades and releasing them as full priced games.

graphics look the same on both tbh from those screen shots

wont be day 1 this game, will watch streams and previews before deciding , i hope this is good

Judging from the screenshots, this is looking to compete with Sonic Boom for worst looking game by a major publisher this gen.

60 bucks for only 9 levels, 2 of them being remakes of older levels? The remaining 7 levels had better be massive then.

Hahaha no way in hell, Tony.

Let's try $30.

As the name indicates, Pro Skater 5 is a call back to the old-school lineage of the first four titles – back when the franchise was in its prime. The game weds the series' finely tuned gameplay with new additions such as power-ups and the ability to shoot projectiles for specific missions.

... Let's try $15.

Isn't this better for creating brand awareness, though? Most people didn't know of THPS HD simply because it was soft launched digitally on three platforms at varying release dates. This game already got coverage in Game Informer, was trending on Twitter, and is using the original name that everybody knows. I've seen more people talk about this entry in the series than any recent one.

I'll wait for gameplay before passing final judgement, but these screens & developer do not inspire confidence at all.

Am I missing something on why this is an issue? (Other than the price differences of new gen and old gen)

Because the game looks like ass & the developers (Robomodo) are the ones behind THPS HD, which was also ass.

Fuck the law, they can eat my dick, that's word to Pimp?

On:topic: This is slightly unfortunate news. I said I'd wait to hear more details and I still will but so far it just looks like a cash grab to see if there's interest in the franchise. Of course it seems like they might fail to take into account the quality of the title they're using to gauge that interest.

The additional details posted in the other thread were all pretty positive. Sure it could turn out to be a mess, but Robomodo has acknowledged the issues with HD and GI mentioned that this game already feels tighter than it. So they seem to be on the right track.

I don't particular care what the game looks like. I never thought the series was all that impressive visually anyway. If it plays like THPS then i'll gladly pay $60 for it. The amount of replay value that it'll have would easily justify that price.

Reality just hit me.

There's a new Tony Hawk: Pro Skater coming out.

In 2015, we get a new Guitar Hero, a new Tony Hawk: Pro Skater and a new Star Wars: Battlefront.

What planet is this and are we in 2006 again?

..and there's no way this is just a placeholder price so Amazon can start taking orders, right?
Coz there's no way they've put the price at $60 to be safe, in case they put it at $40 and then the final release was higher and Amazon were caught out with their preorder guarantee, right?

We weren't even sure if this was going to be a physical release at first. I don't think it's a placeholder due to the 360/PS3 versions already being a lower price.

No. Even the cross-gen Disney Infinity stuff, while simpler, looks a hell of a lot better

Yeah thats my main thing, maybe there are simpler geometry current gen full priced games, but this thing is just outright ugly. It looks like a 20 - 30 dollar digital download only title

Is it hyperbole to say these are the worst graphics of any $60 current gen release?

No. Look at this:
-the fire effects
-the textures
-the everything
Aside from resolution there are GC/PS2/Xbox games that look better than this.

also what the fuck is going on with the shadow? No skateboard shadow? At what angle is the light that the weird shadow lines in the bottom right get created?

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Full priced and by Robomodo.

Bye Felicia.

Looks like a game destined for the GameStop Bargain Bin.
