Tidal Clock - Tells you when the next minute of lunacy occurs. (24hr cooldown)
The Third Scroll - The alchemists have vanished; only their curse remains.

I guess the scrolls are lore for the game, not some secret weapon on the website.

Can't we just have a whip sword?

Bloodborne is practically the next best thing to a 3D Castlevania anyway!

There have been talks of blood, and diseases..vampirism? Main character is bitten and has to kill the vamp to cure herself and on the way you gain cool vampire powers and cool alchemy stuff for weapons and magic glyphs?

It makes sense, you're a vampire hunter, how can you protect your friends from vampires if you have the vampire curse?

The way the promos and this teaser site have been talking about alchemy as a running theme, I'd be more inclined to think that the "disease" relates to something like that.

Wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine some type of alchemical epidemic propagated from the search for the Philosopher's Stone, turning stuff to gold and/or Elixir of Life.

What does everyone think of the "Ironic, isn't it? That I can only destroy you with your help." Obviously, our help is Kickstarter, but who is "I" trying to destroy us. Is Iga going to be the antagonist? It just seems too specific and I don't think any of this text is presented to us without deliberation.

Maybe a reference to the game being hard like Ecclesia was? Igarashi makes a hard game, but we help him by crowdfunding it.

Holy shit, did anyone else get this one:

"Monday morning, 11. I suppose you can watch."

EDIT: Oh, guess we saw it. SWEET

Like I said earlier...I want to believe that means the game will be a tough, but fair challenge. "Destroying" us because we should expect to die a lot!

Yeah, Castlevania has been building on folklore, classical literature/film and pop culture ever since the first game. Heck the first game was supposed to be a riff on horror movies, which is why you have the little film roll holes in the cutscenes.

Furthermore, a lot of the characters' names are based on real people or literature and film. They only won't be able to directly use characters created for and used by Konami's games (e.g. "Sypha Belnades" or "Shanoa"), or the name "Belmont". They still could do Alucard though, and even give him a silver-haired black/gold-armored design.

There's nothing Konami could do to stop a horror-themed platformer.

I would hope this game would go a slightly different route. I mean, with the whole demonology thing(72 Demons of the Lesser Key of Solomon) and alchemist thing, maybe have a main villain that's not a vampire, but an unholy figure similar to Aleister Crowley, as well as naming certain historical figures, such as John Dee. You could still have monsters of all sorts(horror is horror, so there can still be vampires, zombies, werewolves and such), but distance itself somewhat from Castlevania and Dracula just a bit.

Got a Tidal Clock yesterday and The Third Scroll a few minutes ago. This is a little addicting. :p

Which clan? I got the tidal clock, but not the third scroll...

Not surprisingly, the next "minute of lunacy" is "hours away". These clocks are not very specific. :\

Konami
is the antagonist.

So it is said and so it shall be!

EDIT: "We are meeting in the New World. An army of Igavania players and developers." IGA knows how to melt my heart <3

C'mon whip clans. Let's keep this going.

Also, you guys should check the previous pages to keep up with the quote we've seen. Lots of repeats coming across.

This was such a fun way to build hype. It's stretching a little long but I'm just happy this is finally in motion.

Cat O' Nine Tails. Seems to be winning quite a bit from what I see when I get back to clicking. :D

I fully agree with you! :) But I'm just saying that if they wanted to, they could use Dracula, Alucard, Elizabeth Bartley (who is, in reality, Elizabeth Báthory), Carmilla and various other characters, because they're historical people and/or from public domain literature/films.

I'm assuming that through the weekend we'll get some sort of link to whatever is happening at 11 and maybe a more specific time. Either way, I have off that day and I'll be sitting around waiting for it.

What? No one (that I've seen at least) thinks this is a hoax at this point.

I hope so. Because, right now, this is in the 'too good to be true' category for me.

Igavania is literally my favorite genre, if you can call it that. The SotN,GBA/DS castlevanias are some of my favorite games, and to get a brand new one feels like it can't be real, like I haven't been good enough to deserve this.

I'm excited too. I was sick of the formula after OoE but at this point I'd rather have that than nothing at all. Hopefully this is familiar with its own identity. Being nervous this is fake makes sense, but the evidence is looking like it stacks up.

Said it before, I'll say it again: I hope it's such a shameless rip off of Casltevania. Almost all of the enemies (bosses included) are open domain, so he could grab damn near everything. And I love the feel and atmosphere of the Igavania's so much.

Fingers crossed!

Keep in mind that in Lament of Innocence, the entire reason Dracula came to be in the first place was due to alchemy. Don't rule vampirism out just yet :p

A message like

"We are meeting in the New World. An army of Igavania players and developers."

sort of worries me.

That doesn't sound like something someone would say themselves if they were making a game in their namesake.

How certain are we that this is actually Iga running the site? It seems weird that Iga would say "An army of Igavania players and developers."

It says #igavania right on the site. And igavania.com redirects to it. Use of that term isn't anything new...

Also I imagine it's the English campaign staff using US fan terminology since the campaign is mostly playing off US specific stuff. I imagine the Camp-Fire campaign will be handled a bit differently.
