R9 270x
Core i3 4130
4 GB RAM

Average of about 40-45 fps on the High pre-set. Normally, I don't use presets, but I went with it. Might tinker around some more, but this is what I'm getting. Ultra gives me about 27-30 fps. I have all of the post effects set to ON and well, minus motion blur.

Not a bad port at all. I'm limited by my processor obviously, but that's my fault. Game looks gorgeous.

1080p, HBAO+, Everything on Ultra except Foilage distance and Hairworks off.

Looks like it holds 60fps, but I've only played around in the small intro area

Running on 350.12 drivers.

I'm pulling average of high 40's, 47-48'ish w/ultra settings for most things, but foliage range to high, shadows to high, hairworks off, vsync off @ 1080p.

I still notice a strange stuttering though when moving around, it just doesn't feel "smooth" to me.

Anyone else?

Also noticed that cutscenes (even the 2d art ones) are playing <30 fps, which makes them feel stuttery.

This is a slightly silly question but anyone know how to turn on the Polish language option? I've played the other two games like that so it's weird to listen to Geralt and co. speaking English now.

Also, i5 2500k @3.7GHz 4GB Ram and a 2GB Radeon 6970 seems to be doing pretty well on Medium settings.

Played for an hour, no crashes so far.

Everything on ultra apart from foliage distance, have that on high, and hairworks is disabled. Locked it at 60 (got 120Hz) and so far I haven't seen it dip below 60. I have only gotten to the tavern after you ride for a bit though.

i7 4770K@4.3GHz

Win 8.1

I have tweaked the settings file a bit, hope I can still maintain 60 with these small changes I did.

For people wondering why cutscenes stutter, they use ubersampling by default. They're also capped at 30 FPS.
You can change this in the config file in your documents folder.

I can find the movie framerate option in the config file, but where is the ubersampling option you speak of?.

Something's wrong. I can sit just outside the White Orchard town and slowly rotate the camera. It'll make several full revolutions around Geralt with absolutely no stuttering, but then I'll start to get massive stutters every ~three seconds or so, still rotating in the same area. ...and then it'll go away 30 seconds later and it's perfectly smooth. That's with G-Sync on a single Titan X, with hairworks on or off.

How do I know if the game patched from GOG? Never saw a patch today. Never saw any patch notes? I got the free DLC and the 2 free items, but no patch.... :(

Could you tell me what FPS you're getting? And at 1080p I assume? I also have a 2500k and 2GB 6950 (well, flashed to 6970). Thanks.

Game looks great and is running smooth as fuck. I'm running a 970 @ 1440p and getting 50-55 fps (played up to when you first encounter the griffon) with Hair off, motion blur off,SSAO and Shadows on high (everything else maxed). I'm using the Acer Predator and have Gsync enabled so its super smooth even under 60,however the pre-rendered scenes are very choppy and run at 27fps which is a bummer.

I get my Titan X in tomorrow so I'm looking forward to turning Hair on,should still be able to hold 60fps easily judging by what my 970 is doing now.

Sure:
Core i7 2600k @ 3.4Ghz

7950 OC @ 975/1475MHz

Select ultra first. Now cap the framerate at 30 and turn off hairworks. I need to turn down shadows and foliage range to high to prevent dips below 30fps. You may or may not have to since your GPU is faster than mine. If you are getting huge dips, hairworks is the only thing I can think of. I believe high turns Geralt's hair on, and ultra turns it on for everything, so each time you change the preset, you need to turn it off.

SSAO vs HBAO+ in post processing can make a small difference.

It works!!!

Is the chugging when objects are loading in something that can and will be patched? It's really annoying.

I thought it was an intentional part of Geralt's walking animation and the galloping animation at first, but it happens when I turn the camera sometimes too.

I'm using almost the same setup, please be sure to post your experience because i will have to wait for my copy to arrive first, which will take 5-10 days longer ;_;
Running at 1080p, majority of the settings are high and averages around ~50fps. In the forest and road areas I am hitting ~60 fps and in towns I sometimes dip down to ~45 fps.

so..my monitor broke a couple of days ago..so i have to use my older one on 1680x1050

with that,a 970,i5 4670 and 8gb of ram,i got solid fps with everythink at max and enabled apart from hairworks and the foliage visibility setted to high...hairworks it's pretty demanding..losing around 5 fps with that enabled, more in cutscenes or when there are many people on screen...vegatation distance it's even worse..got around 45 fps with hairworks and the vegetation setted to ultra..but the frame rate seems also extremely jerky..so i sacrificed them for fluidity

I feel like an asshole for not pre-installing the game the moment I could. Now I'm just sitting here waiting while everyone else is already playing the game.

On a side note, what kind of speeds are you guys getting with GOG Galaxy? I normally get ~30mb/s with Steam/Origin but GOG is topping out at 15-20.

Getting some weird stuttering while moving. It's like the camera is trying to catch up or something . Hard to describe. Didn't seem to be there before. Doesn't seem like the FPS is dipping or anything, it seems related to the camera.

Crappy old PC report:

2.4 ghz q6600
560ti
4gb ram

on 1920x1200, settings are medium-high and it runs pretty nicely at 30ish fps. Load times are suprisingly quick. Might mess with some settings to get it higher but better than I expected

Great game so far, really enjoying and I think I've got this technically at a place where I like it. Got it running at a locked 30fps with more or less everything on high and the hairworks feature turned off, that hurts your fps the most I find and it's not something I'm too worried about having on. I have some things turned off I don't like much like motion blur and bloom but I'm very happy with the results. I'll get a new graphics card in the next few months after I see what Nvidia and AMD have been up to (and hopefully get a price drop) but there's still life in the ol GTX 670 yet!

Running 1080p @ Medium settings, high for texture detail, motion blur off. Maintaining around 30fps in gameplay. looks pretty sexy.

Thank fuck for that, had douche chills over whether my ancient setup would even run the fucking thing. Can't wait for performance tweak guides to milk some more out this game's prostate.

Wow, slaughters my 980 at 1440p. Still in the prologue staring at the mountain pass with everything minus chromatic aberration and sharpening at max. Getting 30-40 FPS on a 980 clocked to 1520 MHz; where is the "980Ti" already, I need it.

Side note, does GOG Galaxy have a screenshot function? Steam's won't work.

Edit: I disabled hairworks and turned shadows and detail level down to high. Now I get a stable 60 FPS. Amazing what a couple settings can do. The hanging leaves in Kaer Morhen look pretty bad.

I think I can accept 30-40 at 1440 with everything maxed. What cpu do you use? I have a 2600k at 4.5ghz and 980, don't know if I should buy it now or wait for future updates.

Am I the only person running this without running into any crashes? I've already put a couple hours in, and the game has played flawlessly - not a crash to be found.

Try disabling vsync if thats enabled.

My 6-year-old PC with AMD cpu and gpu combo runs the Witcher 3 on ultra (w/o hairworks) at 1080p 35 fps.

AMD PhenomII x4 955 BE 3,2Ghz
AMD HD 7870 Ghz edition 2Gb
Memory 8Gb

I've only played for about 30 minutes (gotta go to work) and didn't experience anything weird/crash.
The game's beautiful and well optimized, even without a dedicated driver from AMD.

i already had 3 crushes..seems a driver problem though..game was still running and could heard the sounds, but the screen turned black 2 times, while the other one i got back to the desktop but couldn't move the mouse and had to exit the game with esc button

Trying to download the damn Nvidia driver, their speed is ridiculously slow. Getting 300kb a second.

Also, for those of you who got it from GoG as part of the GPU pack in, how do you keep it updated? Just a manual process?

Crash culprit : display driver unresponsive so it restarts. We are left with no graphics only sound. Nvidia and amd alike.
A video driver crash could be due to a unstable overclock. If the card is overclock, whether by the user or directly from the factory, downclock and run it at the normal stock speed for that chipset.

So you apparently can't rebind WASD... not going to lie, that's kind of unacceptable. If anyone is feeling helpful, can you tell me whether the user.settings.ini file or whatever has keybinds that might be directly editable?

Me too on a Titan Black and i7 4960X.

Seems like Maxwell is crushing a lot. I will test tomorrow my 980GTX to see if it crushes.

I've given up for the night, crashing every 10 minutes without error has completely killed the launch for me :(
