Normal names are only normal because they have been used so many times. I am sure at one point everyone's name was weird or strange.

My condolences OP.

Your best hope now is to train him to like his middle name so he wants to use it as his preferred name. Then the worst thing that happens is "Your first name is KALE?!" instead of the years of inevitable vegetable jokes.

Don't name your kids after LoL characters. at least don't list them next to each other so it's so obvious

It's different looking at a name on websites/books, than actually looking at your child a considering the names you've chosen. For us anyway. Have a list of names you both like, even if not completely sold on it for your kid. Have another short list of names you really like, true contenders.

We had a short list of 3 we were certain of, but when our son was born (he's 3 months old now) we just couldn't name him any of them as they all just didn't seem right looking at him in our arms. A name came to my mind of one we'd liked, which hadn't made the shortlist. We ended up going with Harlen, which felt right and we both now love.

OP, I'm late to this thread, but my best advise is to refer to the Poll's results.
Go with literally anything else
. If she's so persistent in naming him Breckin, can you two at least make it his middle name? (sorry if it's already been discussed, as I'm very late to this thread)

It's going to be Kale Everett.
Frankly I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, kale-the-vegetable is in vogue right now but it won't be by the time li'l Kale is grown enough for it to matter to him. He'll be fine. Besides, flora and fauna are pretty common namespirations.

Really late to this thread. Just read the whole thing and god damn what a ride lol.

I'm so glad I'm actually okay with my name. Osman and Rami were fought over until they decided on Sami.

Apparently my dad hated Rami because he knew kids would call me Rami Harami, which means "Rami the thief" in Arabic lol. I'm glad he caught that.

P.S. Breckin is awful, Kale is a bit better. Miles was the best by a huge margin
