Game Informer July cover story: Halo 5 [Up: Character Shots]

I posted in a Halo thread a few months back that Halo 5 might take a more ODST approach with Locke following in the MC's foot steps to look for him. I think ODST was pretty great in that area and the flashbacks really worked well for the game.

Also i dont mind playing as Locke. I am always open to playing new characters in the halo universe. Noble 6 and the rookie were great. Just keep me engaged.

I'm sending Buck in first every time.

There must be some great lines with him. Halo needs to get back the lighthearted side and still laugh when the shit hits the fan, humans are just like that.

The light tan Spartan with blue lights / accents is Tanaka, introduced in the Escalation comic series that's somewhat bridging the story between Halo 4 and Halo 5:

The only Spartan whose identity we don't have confirmed is Scizor over there.

I had no interest in this at all, but after recently starting my replay of ODST and seeing this new and improved Buck... yes I'm finally getting hype.

Yeah, it was my Grandma making the game and that's why it was so broken...

Why are people still saying this? They have written a full apology and taken full responsibility.
Because it's true? MCC was done by a multitude of companies with oversight from 343, but they didn't make it. They apologized because they let if happen. The mess that is MCC doesn't mean 343 couldn't handle a PC port of Halo 5.
I'm not being an appologist either, I'm one of the biggest 343 critisizers there is and refuse to buy Halo 5 at launch because of MCC and Halo 4, I'll be waiting to see what people are saying a month after it releases before I decide.

Yeah, looks super rubbery, and his beard looks painted on.
And I just realized how dead his eyes are.

So pumped to see Blue team and Buck. I could not have been less excited for this campaign, I'm now I'm on board again.

I truly hope that all of 343's missteps with the MCC have been because they've been much more devoted to this game. I don't want my heartbroken again, but I can only hope for now.

Enjoy it all. I'm going to probably skip it - first Halo FPS game I'll have done so - as the direction and EU just aren't of interest to me.

Nice to see enthusiasm though. Board has felt fairly bullish of late for some reason (could just be me of course).

So, they bringing back the classic Halo theme? Or was that more of a choice on GI's part..

With Kaz in charge, it appears we are seeing more of Marty's repetitive rhythms being heard again. They can be heard in the Vidocs.

So, I imagine that the Halo theme will be returning, if not, why the hell not 343?

Funny enough, because 343i was working on the netcode and it's the thing that was broken the most and literally unplayable. Really don't see why we should blame Certain Affinity for the maps, Blur for the cutscenes, Sabre for the remastered graphics or Ruffian Games for the ports, because those things actually worked with slight issues. Only ones to blame are the people who put that whole thing together and that was 343i and United Front probably (UI design). Well and maybe the publisher, because they probably didn't give them enough time. Enough of the derailing, though.

I just hope it doesn't happen again.

I like that despite the newer Spartans having more organic, evolved armor, Chief and the rest of Blue Team still look pretty industrial. You really get the impression that they're the old war-horses.

So is Buck a spartan now, when did this happen? And where did all of those new Spartans pop out from? I thought Master Chief was the last one.

I already paid off my legendary Halo 5 box of goodness.

I hope that we get to find out next week what is included in it! :)

Super excited for Halo 5. We have the conclusion of HuntTheTruth on Sunday, and E3 on Monday....

A lot of stuff if covered in the Halo novels. Buck becoming a Spartan IV is covered in Halo: New Blood.

People talking about the Locke model, but he just looks that buttery smooth in real life

Getting to be a spartan and Luke Cage, good times ahead for Mike Colter.

A statue of some sort then whatever else.

Looking at those Banshees... Oh yay more redesigns. :/
I'll reserve judgment till I get a better look at them.

My thoughts, exactly. The banshees looked back to normal in the cover for H5. The banshee was the worst redesign from H4, imo. Hope they aren't even worse now.
Then again again, my motto for this game is "I'll reserve judgment."
