if this is true...

"we have it on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Whether it’ll bear any relation to the game last shown at E3 in 2009 is anyone’s guess."

Devil's advocate: There's a possibility this doesn't mean The Last Guardian. Sony may announce TLG is cancelled, but deliberately waited this long so they could showcase what the team have been developing for the PS4 instead.

I swear to god I'll masturbate with tears in my eyes if TLG graces my television screen during the Sony conference stream. I'll do so with my wife sitting right next to me in the couch, I don't even care.

Now i want TLG to be there just so this can happen.

Wow. I'm long past the point of caring about this game one way or the other. I've always thought that if it comes out and is a good game, I'll play it. If not, no biggie.

Having said that, if this is true it'll be amazing to see people hit full meltdown mode if it appears at E3 at all. It'll be legendary.

One week left until people remember that this is a puzzle game about throwing barrels at guards in stealth sections and herding a deliberately unreliable AI partner around

Nothing wrong with said puzzle game if it is well designed.

But yeah, it isn't the Second Coming either.

Maybe they don't mean the videogame The Last Guardian. Maybe the newspaper is ending it's historic 200-year publication and the last ever copy will be at E3

Considering that the game has been in development since Man discovered fire, I'm sure Sony won't just toss all that time and money invested in it out, it had to pop up eventually. So yeah, maybe it'll show up, maybe it won't, neither is hard to believe.

Are you kidding me...

A publication called The Guardian of all people, and it wasn't even the main focus of the article, just a casual mention.

Wooooow.

Again, anyone who constantly said it was dead doesn't deserve to play this game once it's out and I hope you won't be purchasing it. It's like getting into heaven if you don't believe in god. Don't think so pal.

Cast down the non-believers. Let them not touch the glory that shall come.

Some novice journalist is getting major props right now for getting insane numbers of clicks on his little list piece, and all he had to do was slip a little thing like this in.

Good for you, guy.
dont toy with my emotions :(

If this game is at E3 I will be absolutely shocked. Even if (IF) it's ready, TLG seems like a TGS or PSX reveal.

I hope tlg alive, that game is an icon of all unreleased hyperhyped games of all time. It would be super cool if tlg finally gets release date.

It's cool guys, BobTheFork is here to tell you nobody gives a shit about these games
? My comment was about both games being very similar in many regards. One of those happens to be very vocal minorities.

You don't think it's crazy they after 7 years we may see The Last gaurdian and ME at e3. That's fucking nuts.

If by novice journalist you mean someone who's well known and has been working in the field for the last 20 years, sure.

Why would Guardian be privy to top secret info? I hope its true but shit, if it turns out to be false guardian will be banned on neogaf.

No, development hell means it's development. There are many stories about all the concepts, demos and mock ups they have been making. They have apparently scraped what they had many, many times. Who cares when they 'announced' it. They have been trying to make another ME for a very long time and have restarted often

So Jak & Daxter 4 is in development hell at Naughty Dog too?

Making prototypes is not the same as development hell. Development hell starts when full production runs way over time.

Not that one thing is mutually exclusive or anything but if you do put stake into it so much based on publication as opposed to taking it as a think piece, they were dead set on proclaiming Zelda as the "game of the show" before having to be corrected on Nintendo already saying it wouldn't be there.

I don't really think putting much stake into The Guardian's knowledge on games is going to make that much of a difference in the long run. Plenty of proclaimed insiders are already saying that it's likely to show up and The Guardian reporting on it doesn't make it any more likely the way I see it.

I started playing games again (after a 10 or so year hiatus) only recently. This game has never been anything but a meme to me. Now... I don't even know what to think.
