this is what i wanted, it is essentially gears 3 with gears 1 maps. sensational

''brand new control scheme'' - might be able to aim while in the middle of wall bounce now
wonder if the weapons from gears 3 will be available in multiplayer

It remind me i need to play this back on PC, but jesus christ, where do we buy this game on PC???? Its not on Steam, Xbox, Microsoft store, nowhere!!!!

Skill based matchmaking as opposed to letting people choose where they matchmake will mean that I will skip this. When are devs going to get it in their thick fucking skulls, that skill based matchmaking is null and void if half the people in a game are playing on servers on the other side of the hemisphere/world.

It's beyond belief.

Ya it's real unfortunate.

So many games are completely lost due to GFWL, and people wonder why PC gamers are so wary of Microsoft's, and other publisher's, DRM solutions going forward.

Stopping power was great in Uncharted's MP; I hope this remaster has it. Especially now that the game is 60fps

Are you saying you're skipping it because the multiplayer doesn't group you up based on region? If every game was laggy I'd skip it to. I dunno though, I think alot of FPS/TPS competitive games have skill based matchmaking (but they usually put you with others from your country).

August 25, enough time to get my Gears 1 skills back before Halo 5 comes. Now all we need is a low preferably under $20 price (highly doubt it).

Oh god, if it's not all the Halo threads, it's now the Gears threads where you're gonna complain about picking servers.

It just sounds like Gears 1 with updated mechanics from Gears 3 and a streamlined MP mode thats a combo of Gears 1-3

I don't want it choosing for me, like halo MCC and the halo 5 beta did, I want it like titanfall does, and what 343 have said halo 5 will do... Choose where I play.

If its the former, then no I definitely won't buy it. Playing 90% of my games on US servers is not fun.

They wouldn't do 1 and 3 and leave out 2, that would be super odd. So either it's the complete trilogy or they're releasing all three separate. Could be that the date is for Gears 1, and then 2 and 3 will be every few months to space out over the spring and summer so that there's things to play next year before Quantum Break and Scalebound and Crackdown.

With the 90 minutes of stuff from the PC version, it could mean that they're adding some Gears of War 3 stuff into the original game's multiplayer and it's just weird wording.

This is what I think will happen.

Gears of War Campaign - August '15
Gears of War Multiplayer with maps from all 3 games in the trilogy. - August '15

Later down the year Gears of War 2 and 3 campaign added. Similar to what they've done with Master Chief Collection and adding in ODST this month.

Give the fans what they really want which is multiplayer with everything included. Maybe give Horde later in the year with one of the campaigns.

to me it sounds like they're describing the original gears of war

doesn't seem like we're getting gears 2 or 3.

Well, it clearly says 19 maps there though. And that's the 19 which came to Gears 1. I really hope they'll add more maps from Gears 2 and 3 later on.

Gears 1 has 19 multiplayer maps if you included the PC maps. (10 base + 6 DLC + 3 PC)

I like Gears a lot, but I'm not buying one that doesn't include Horde mode. Horde Mode on GoW3 is still the best one I've ever played.

I think we can all agree that with GoW 1 confirmed.

Gears of War 2 & 3 will come some way down the road.

If it´s in form of a collection, a seperate release or just as DLC for GoW 1 we will see.

Thank goodness it's not.

Gears 3 had too many new mechanics, terrible weapon balancing, and not to mention crack head wall cancelling.

A refinement of Gears 1's mechanics, along with an emphasis on simplicity, an even playing field and going back to basics is what Gears fans want and what the series needs.

Gears 2, Gears 3 and Judgement each had a ton of crap that no one wanted added. It's about damn time Gears goes back what it should have been.

Only Halo 2 was remastered for Xbox One. The Halo port is a 360 remaster and the other two were just tweaked.

Just because it was great in Uncharted doesn't mean it was great in Gears. Not really sure what that has to do with 60fps though.

Stopping power was one of the worst things added to Gears. Nobody asked for that, and since, people have begged for it to never come back.

It would be great to have some maps from Gears 2 and 3 as DLC.
I wonder how campaign will look. I played it many times but can't wait to replay it nonetheless.
