"The latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation reveals God Eater Resurrection, a new entry in the God Eater series due out this fall for unannounced platform(s).

The title is an updated version of PSP’s God Eater Burst with enhanced graphics and event scenes reconfigured to match the latest hardware. It will also include a new story that follows God Eater 2.

Also new is the “Predator Style” fighting style, which lets players prey upon enemies in the air and during high-speed movement."

Not like GE2 had any unique design factors (like level, enemy behaviour, AI) that makes it difficult to backport.

The seem to re-did all the graphics (even GE2 was PSP based, so...), along with new moveset additions.
They'll add bridge stories between GE and GE2 also.

I'd like a bigger mission hub and more interaction with the other characters, please.

GE can be very sterile in some of its middle arcs where you have to go through the missions as they are.

There's a God Eater festival in a few days. We'll probably get GE 2:RB announced for the west there or at Anime Expo. (The game has already been trademarked in Europe)

As for Resurrection? Too early to tell, but it has a PS4 version so it seems highly likely they're planning on bringing it to the west.

A re-release focused on story and cutscenes seems like a pointless product for this genre and fans. Story was pretty bad too, it's not something worth revisiting really. I guess they just wanted something to go with the anime and this was the only thing possible.

Nice! I've wanted to check the series for some time now but the PSP/Vita combo killed it for me.

Checking a Let's Play on YouTube right now and the graphics are surprisingly good - I could even argue that they match the recent output of many JP devs.

For GB, the Vita version sells a lot more. However, Sony most likely provides the right development tools and encourages third parties to make a PS4 version.

Whilst the PS4 version doesn't sell as nearly as well as the Vita version in Japan, the PS4 version is most likely very easy to do if many Japanese third parties keep on doing this sort of approach with a Vita+PS4+PS3 release.

Guaranteed it's going to sell more on Vita in Japan. Rage Burst PS4 already happened, so it's doubtful they'd just abandon that (small) existing audience. Sony probably incentivized it too.
