Xbox Ultimate Game Sale (Begins July 7th)

So, for those that have played it, would they say State of Decay is worth £14? What's the average game time to completion like?

The game is worth it at full price. The time varies on how you play. I clocked about 20 hours on the regular story.

Does anyone have impressions for Legend of Korra? Love the television series, heard mixed things about the game, but even a mediocre Platinum title is usually better than most of its peers in the genre. For $7.50 it seems pretty darn tempting.

Hmm nothing really jumping out at me at the moment saying I have to have it, sad too cause I really only buy stuff when its on sale.

Will wait and see hopefully something better on 360.

I have another question, separate from my Korra one a few posts back - which games on this list offer enough legs to justify being owned digitally over physically? MCC is a good example - the four main games in one of my favorite series (though I already own MCC). Since space fills up SO quickly on these damn current gen machines, I'm trying to plan my digital purchases accordingly and only go digital with titles I know I'll be coming back to again and again (Rare Replay is another good example of something upcoming that I'm going digital on).

I know personal taste will factor in quite a bit here, and a lot of the titles I'm interested here are single-player focused, but I figured I'd ask anyway :D

Just remember that even if you have the game on disc, it still has to install the whole damn game to the hard drive anyway. Owning stuff on disc is helpful if you don't want to have to download 60GB of stuff every time you want to re-install a game, but I prefer the convenience of not having to swap discs. I also don't tend to sell my used games, so another digital win for me.

Are you sure? I have Arkham Knight on disc, and when I first tried booting it up I had to download the day 1 patch, but it was only ~3.5 gigs (and there's no way that was the size of the full game). Still took way longer than I would have liked before I could play it though, ha.

I just recently picked up an Xbox One after being a PS4 exclusive guy for a year or so, and this is the way it works on PS4. I think it works the same way on the One, because Dead Rising 3 had to do a full install even though I own that on disc. Sunset Overdrive was the same way, chewing up 30+GB of storage even though I have the disc. I thought both consoles did it this way because seek times on Blu-Ray discs are abysmal.

Was gonna grab Ori, but at only 5 bucks off I can wait a bit.

Got Lego Batman, gonna grab Korra and Geometry Wars soon. I might get Ass Creed China and Diablo as well.

Yeah, Assassin's Creed China Chronicles is a fun little game. I've also enjoyed what I played of White Night.

I would tell anyone not to get Halo collection at 35, it's not worth it at that and will probably be on sale for cheaper in the fall plus I am sure you would be able to find a code on ebay for it from someone that bought the bundle for cheaper than 35.

Umm? For that price it's a steal. Insane amount of content

You can grab it off ebay or a gaffer who bought rhe bundle for 20-25

E: i wish x1 had a similar setup like steam, buy the disc,
Install it, put the cd key in, you now have a physical and digital copy. The disc is useless after you use the key.

Hope Life is Strange goes on sale at some point this week. Not sure how likely that is though considering it's still fairly new and isn't finished either.

Would definitely pick it up though, even if the discount was only 20-25%.

I've been waiting for this too. Game of Thrones and Borderlands Telltale games are on sale and they're not finished either, so hopefully Life is Strange gets a sale soon.

There's some stuff I want but I don't know if I want it to actually play or just because it's cheap. I was hoping for a deal on DMC4 or Forza (5 or Horizon 2 for 20 bucks I'd bite) but I never played the expansion part of Diablo 3, was kinda so so on Dragon Age, mostly because my character's voice got changed to the worst accent, but for 30 bucks I'd probably pick it up again. Maybe Lego Batman, but I feel like that'd just be because it's a great deal. Has there been any word on daily deals?

Is the gold version worth the extra $12? I'm thinking about just taking the regular one for $24.

I haven't played it personally, but I hear that the DLC is truly a mixed bag. The one actual narrative portion, the Yeti stuff, isn't supposed to be that great, and everything else seems like mission packs or multiplayer stuff, if my memory serves.

Definitely get the base game, though. It is dope. as. fuck.

I'm confused. Is this sale not in Europe? I'm not seeing any discounts on the Dutch store. Would really consider picking up Watch_Dogs, Shadow of Mordor and/or Far Cry 4!

I went with the $24 version because the DLC released so far didn't look interesting or worth the expense. I have no interest in Far Cry PVP.

Awesome, thank you guys! Will get the base game :)

Is AC China Chronicles any good? It looks intriguing and I like 2.5D side scrollers.

I liked it...but the only other 2.5D side scroller I have played is Arkham Blackgate, which was complete dogshit...so I dont really have anything good to compare it to.

I have heard a lot of people say it is almost an exact copy of Mark of the Ninja, with a little less in it

How well does Borderlands split screen run on XBox One?

As far as i've read, it's 60 fps with dips in single player and two player split, down to 30 fps in 3/4 player split. I've only played it in 3 player split, but it seemed much smoother than the 360 version but probably not much higher than 30. Screen tearing can be fairly evident at times.
