Except the OS sucks and it can't multitask very well.
If you know where to look there are plenty of people streaming every sports event. Great quality no skipping.
The browser is pretty fast for me...
I'd prefer my phone/tablet and AirPlay to the TV.Lol'ing at some of the 'lol WiiU' comments. It's the touchscreen PLUS TV combo that makes it work so well. It really is great to use, although I haven't tried the XBO with kinect for comparison there.
Also, there's no console OS nastier than the PS4's.
I have an Intel NUC connected to my TV. I feel it is somewhat more useful than having a WiiU.
Well I'm on the PC now used the PS4 a few days ago and haven't touched the Xbone in a while.
Switched from my PS4 to the wiiU as my streaming console because it was just so much better at it.
You said "this just hit me". Did something literally hit you in the head?
Fair enough. I don't mean to be argumentative it's just in my experience the Wii U hasn't been as snappy in comparison to my Xbox.
It definitely takes a few seconds longer but we're literally talking seconds. I just personally feel the touchscreen + universal remote 1 2 combo makes it work so well.
Can't play DVDs or Blu-Rays, the "remote" dies in 3-5 hours, the OS is bloated and slow, Netflix is horribly outdated and doesn't even have access to profiles... and its at least 200$. In what world is this the "perfect" media consumption console?
some people still use dvds and blurays?
LOL
Aren't the OS and browser utterly terrible? Just about anything else also supports the big three, and what you list is all fulfilled better and more by any iOS or Android device.
I just wish it could play DVDs and Blurays.
It can't even play media files.

On top of the rest, doesn't it also lack surround sound support for media playback?
(And by media playback, I mean Netflix/Amazon)
Well he didn't say "literally," so no. He used a common phrase that you're scrutizing for absolutely no reason. You said "this just hit me". Did something literally hit you in the head?

Not everything appears on streaming services you know.some people still use dvds and blurays?
LOL
It had potential, but the interfaces are so clunky and everything moves so slow. Watching stuff off screen on the gamepad in that terrible native res is less than ideal too.
For games that basically output directly in PCM.No idea I don't have surround sound lol.
Edit
According to Nintendo it does http://en-americas-support.nintendo...1508/~/how-to-use-surround-sound-on-the-wii-u

My dad recently got a DVD set of WKRP and it's amazing so I don't see what's so funny here.some people still use dvds and blurays?
