I was gonna say what a huge fucking asshole this guy is, but the fact that he posted that he took the stuff for himself and didn't expect the backlash shows me what a moron he must really be.

blame the parents too

I mean a little I guess, but most parents know very little about computers so all the older brother had to tell them was "oh yeah I upgraded and fixed little bro's computer great" or some other bs. Not like they're browsing reddit or maybe little bro didn't rat big bro out to them.

This piece of shit is saying he thought it was meant for both of them. What a load of bullshit. Lock this kid up for life.

Lock up for life? C'mon man that's too much. The only true justice here would be for the older brother to be forced to use emachines PC's with 3dfx parts, 512mb of RAM, AOL dialup, and Windows Fucking ME for the next 20 years. Oh and he has to wear a monitoring bracelet that goes off if he tries to use anything modern.

That's worse than death.

You don't get to bring friends.
If money was an issue for a PSU then why couldn't he just sell one of those monitors? Dude doesn't need a triple monitor set up.

And a trackball.

exactly. not only a piece of shit scum but a stupid one at that

"i worked with my dad all summer so that's how i afford my stuff and i also have a galaxy s6" wow such independence. this kid definitely knows the struggles of balancing finances and providing for oneself and family. he deserves those new computer parts surely and a triple monitor setup etc etc /s

if i was his parent and found out about this i would come down pretty fucking hard on him. i hope someone is able to tell them (unless they don't care which is possible considering how much of an asshole the kid is).

If that monitor pic the kid is using isnt a before pic...

What he couldn't even give him the fucking mousepad?

Asshole, through and through. He have taken the shirt if it fit him.

Man, I have a shitty brother too, except my brother is so shitty and useless as human being, he's too lazy to install PC parts or move a monitor.

Hope the younger guy finds his way and surpasses that douchebag.

This is an insanely disappointing sad story.

Company will no longer do good deeds due to a horrible family member.

This teaches me that I must online my future children's online activity and troll them from afar.

This is really getting me upset. That brother is such a jerk.

Should have saved up to get him a PSU.. they aren't that expensive..

This is exactly why most companies don't do nice things like this - shitbags always steal the free stuff and it doesn't go to where it was intended anyway.

Lol, this dude is an asshole, plain and simple. I still feel guilty I got my brother a shitty motherboard when I built his rig, and that was lIke 2 years ago. He appreciates the system and uses it daily, but I wish I'd have researched the socket more. I went too cheap :(

AMD's response made me smile.

Yep. AMD's response is pure class to the older brother that is trash.

And a new PC too.

As much as I'm going to sound like a dick, why should Nvidia or AMD throw money at them again when you know the brother will just take it. Unless the younger brother is able to talk DIRECTLY to AMD and set up passwords that only he himself knows and AMD knows to where the brother can't access or unlock the hardware, it's a pointless waste of time to throw money at them again in goodwill in the hopes the brother will not steal the shit again.

IF you do a nice thing you do a nice thing. This is like when you give a homeless guy $5. Yeah he might use it to feed himself, or he might use it to buy beer or meth. But you did the nice thing. Not sure what investigating this further or trying to send this kid more shit will accomplish. The kind of person who does this clearly has no shame, so what's the point in trying to shame him? If I were AMD or anyone else I would absolutely not send this family any more shit.
