You guys need to see the fps video. It is a slap in the face of what reality is in 2015. Everyone should see the world we live in now.

No, we really don't.

I saw it because I clicked the Twitter page just as it was uploaded, and I wish that I hadn't. I already know that such horrible things happen without having to have it seared into my brain.

I got grudge sucked!
He was never going to be taken alive. He got to do what he wanted and go out on his terms, so he won, in his mind.
I have no idea how someone will be able to stop any of this, when it gets to this point.

they don't even show the video. They get up to when he pulls up the gun and then the cut clips

this is what is says on their site

Another shows him firing the deadly shots at point blank range. We are not showing that video, and Twitter and FB have already suspended his accounts.

Doesn't matter anyway, video is already out there.

Oh good. I couldn't bring myself to actually watch the rest of it. I had to close the tab.

So again the narrative in gun violence is "he was mentally unstable" instead of "we should really do something about the amount of guns on the streets".

No, you have taken what I said and fit it into your argument.

The narrative on gun violence is "we should really do something about the amount of guns on the streets". And that's where it stops. It needs to be both, as the importance mental health troubles are often neglected due to the emotional reaction to the gun itself. I'm not saying that gun control doesn't need to change, but rather the approach overall is insufficient to tackling effective prevention.

Regardless, this probably isn't a time for politics, but reflection.

I have no reason to believe this guy is mentally ill. All I know is that this is an evil act of a guy who knew when and how to find people he was acquainted with and execute/murder them on live TV while filming it himself all for his own twisted purposes. I doubt that this will wake people up towards gun violence and I have all the faith that this will generate the WRONG kind of public discourse. God help this insane reality we live in.

Calling him "evil" is lazy and just deflects from the issues of mental illness andlets them go unchecked, which often culminates in situations like this one today. People need to stop that shit. This isn't a comic book.

The shooter killed himself...

Glad your dead but shit like this pissed me off. We want to see this asshole in handcuffs and in the chair.

How does the very idea that he has the mental capacity to seriously entertain such an idea not indicate mental illness by itself?

Let's just take it a step further. How does a populace that allows the legal allowance of guns in their society not prove the mental illness of that society?!

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Yeah, I stumbled upon the video he posted because I went to his Twitter when he first started posting. Very surreal, especially after seeing the first video from the news cameras angle when this all started.

It's not graphic, but very very hard to watch. They were so focused on the job they didn't notice him. He just lingers there for awhile and then starts shooting. Eugh. Terrible.

He would kill himself, coward, just like every shooter in the world. Blames everyone but himself with their problems and then just takes the easy way out.

Nothing will come of this, that's the sad reality we live in.

If he did commit suicide, I'm glad. He didn't force an officer to pull the trigger on him, didn't hurt anyone else, and we won't have to go through years and years of court proceedings and media obsession. Dude was clearly troubled. It'll be interesting to see what he had to say if only to be able to hopefully identify more these types of people going forward.

Tragic in every direction.

The world we live now is also much safer than it was 40 years ago. The only reason why we are all obsessed about this murder over 100s more than happened last night is because it was filmed...

I watched the video that cuts before the actual act and felt a pit in my stomach. I regret watching that, let alone the full video that was out there. :/

RIP to the reporters, truly sickening.
