Zelda Symphony orchestra to perform on Late Show w/ Colbert - October 13th.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Man, Colbert is really hitting the gamer demographic right out of the park. Hope more shows follow in his footsteps in terms of the way he respects his guest and shows interest in what they do.

Producers of the show are capitalizing on Kimmel's YouTube gaming controversy... very good.

I could have gone in 2011 but didn't go, but if they come to Florida again I would go.

Woah, awesome! I was bummed I didn't get to make it to the Chicago show last week, so I guess this'll make up for that in a small way.

Colbert is just trying to dig his way out of inheriting Letterman's audience. After the first few weeks his viewers average age is 58 (Letterman's was 60).

Kimmel is the only one that seems to be taking the piss when it comes to talking about video games as a medium.

Everyone else seems to be moving quickly and efficiently regarding this stuff.

Conan?

Clueless Gamer is amazing, but it's definitely still taking the piss outta games. And Conan. And games.

Excellent symphony, and this will put it in the ears of a lot of people.

Nintendo being modern!? What blasphemy.

He has had an influence. However, at least recently, it seems he plays games for jokes or Youtube views the next day and not to inform the person about the game like when he had Mike Tyson play Punch Out!!! or Pierce Brosnan playing Goldeneye 007, kind of like Clueless Gamer with Conan. His interviews with Sean Murry (No Man's Sky) and Pewdiepie were both funny and informative.

Kinda upset that I don't have the money to go see them when they perform at Barclay's next week, but I guess this is a nice consolation prize.

Yeah but that's clearly a bit, and a bit that implies that Conan enjoys gaming. Kimmel is the only one sticking to the mind set of "Video games? WHO NEEDS'EM?"

I don't think Colbert is a gamer, but he's definitely a hardcore nerd. Seeing him bust out his deep Tolkien knowlege is awesome.

Anyway, it's good to see them going for a different demographic (him and Fallon and the other late night guys). The old guys got, well, old.

Fallon has done plenty for gaming, the issue is that for me it never feels genuine as he's always perky and peppy so when he's geeking out over a game it's hard to tell what's his over-all host persona and what's genuine excitement over a new game/content.

Conan brings attention to hot new games that don't really need it imho but the gaming community appreciates the funny fake reviews because they do put the games in the mass media spotlight.

Colbert seems to be taking the interview approach where he's asking genuine questions and allowing other sides we wouldn't normally see to come out, such as the Zelda orchestra. My question is if he's doing it as a gamer or as somebody trying to appeal to gamers, doesn't matter either ways good for the industry is still a thing.

edit: question over colbert answered above haha. And yeah it is most likely he's simply a geek in different areas giving attention to something many geeks are into nowadays.

They're performing, with highlights from Triforce Heroes. As in the music. Right? They're the musical guest so it's not a game demonstration.
