I have played them all. I wouldnt consider myself a fan, but I do like to experience all I can as a gamer. I will check this out eventually. But I am curious about its bugs.

I can never justify buying another AC after AC3.

I can't say that you will regret buying it because gamers have different standards I guess.

Don't listen to these people telling you that you will regret it. If you like Assassin's Creed then you will most probably enjoy this. I get most people hate it here but I've always enjoyed playing through the story on the cheap. Even Unity once most of the patches came out I streamlined the story only and unlocked great armor and weapons and enjoyed the missions. I'm not saying there isn't stuff to work on for them there definitely is but if you enjoy the gameplay (god I hope getting in and out of windows isn't a chore this time) then go for it.

I'm calling it still. Watch dogs 2 to fill in for ac next year. No hype no buzz. No splash. Syndicate will make money but be the worst selling yet. I plan to rent it out of obligation(I've 1000'd plated every one except Brotherhood) but even then I have my hands full with dragon quest and wasteland 2 so that will have to wait. I'm just so excited to give darwun a piggyback ride while discovering evolution. So excited.

I'm not sure if you will regret your purchase or not lol. But...

We're fans of Assassin Creed. I purchased this for a christmas gift last year and didn't experience the bug fest like other people that played it when it released. Ubisoft fixed the issues by the time we got around to playing it. I think Ubisoft made things right in the end.

I will be purchasing Syndicate again as christmas gift at release and am excited to check out Jack the Ripper. (wished they would return to Prince of Persia)

I think I'm going to pick this one up after all. Probably not launch day though.

I liked Unity after they finally fixed it, and while I think the series needs to pace itself, nothing so far has hit the low that 3 did. Heck, one of the best games in the series was Rogue, essentially a spinoff sent to wallow on last-gen.

Syndicate looks mighty fun with some of the gameplay tidbits that've been thrown around; plus I like the concept of Assassins forming a street gang.

Edit: the "nobody cares about AC" rhetoric is tiring. I get burnout, I don't even like most of the games in the series, but pretending like it isn't a sales juggernaut that people genuinely like is silly.

I'm not a fan of snarky OT titles. Those threads are like the one safe place for discussing your experiences with the game. The title shouldn't be there to entertain people who made the "right" decision by avoiding the game. There's plenty of room for "____ is a glitchy mess" or "____is disappointing" threads outside the OT.

I played Unity a few months after release and a few patches and it was ok.

My suggestion is don't get it on day one as I bet the game is going to have some issues so you might as well wait.

One and done, I guess.

I haven't played AC since 3. It soured me on the franchise that I was already waning on. If you like AC then I don't think you'll regret the purchase but I'm definitely not hyped for it.

Each one since 3 has been markedly improved. That game was a mess.

I have the collectors edition on preorder.

I didn't like Unity but I'm hopeful and can't skip a game set in London.

I don't understand all the people who say you should wait and watch some twitch and YouTube.

I prefer to waist a few pounds vs knowing what to expect. I usually don't even watch trailers.

I'm sure you'll have fun for a while - but I'm sure there will be a point in the game where it becomes stale.

But I'm the same, I'll but it just to play it for a while - I just want to run around London

Unity is not a buggy mess, is perfectly playable.

Sure it was playable, but still a horrible buggy mess.

These are just a few clips I saved from playing the PS4 version.

Edit: And who can forget this from the very start of the game?

LOL, what a thread. But I can kind of understand where you are at. On one hand I am completely burned out on the series and thought this looked as dull as an old spoon. Yet as I watched more footage the past few days, I came to realize that it did not look quite as bad as I initially thought. I have decided that I do want to give it a shot at some point, if anything just for London and getting to play as Evie.

its kind of sad the amount of hate people exhaust over assassins creed on here. Its like people are just ignoring the fact that people who have the game are saying its good. I have not seen one person say they arent enjoying it so far.

Yeah baby. You know you wanna get jiggy with Queen Victoria.

This is my favorite trailer they've put out for this game, too. Can't wait to pick it up.

I meant because of Florence Nightingale haha. Nurses are never in video games. Except in Silent Hill.

Im a huge Assasins Creed fan and I just preordered Syndicate.

Ive played through all the games except Unity, that ones a buggy mess.

Am I going to regret my purchase?
Anyone else hyped about the new game?

Does it matter?

How will anyone know if you will regret your purchase. The game looks okay to me, many people are just burned out of AC games. If you skipped Unity then that is already a bonus for this game.

Relating to the the game. I am the only one who thinks they turned Shawn into Morrisey? I think the look is uncanny in this game from the previews.

OP, you'll probably won't reject your purchase, and there is most definitely someone out there hype for a the new game.
Also, gaming enthusiast forums such as GAF are probably a bad place to talk about AC if you're legitimately enthusiastic because it's currently super cool to drive-by shitpost in Assassin's Creed threads.

Syndicate is looking decent enough. AC seems to be a popular whipping boy as of late, and i really think its just fatigue setting in for most. Play what you enjoy, i wont be picking this up day one (too much on my plate already) but the gf has it preordered on PC, and she has enjoyed just about every AC game, even 3 and unity.
