The Legend of Zelda WiiU "confirmed" for 2016. Wolf Link amiibo compatible.

I'll never understand why people think the Zelda Wii U tech demo looks taxing for the Wii U. It has great lighting, reflections and smooth animations, but lacks AA and the textures aren't amazing. Sure, developing an open environment takes more but they wouldn't need to change the artstyle to reallocate resources and make it work.

The grass looks nice too.

i can't believe i am so happy with 5 seconds of footage. That moment when reggie says "i hope you enjoy twilight princess hd next year... and the legend of zelda for wii u" then whoosh the footage change to zelda u, and that little piece of music making everything so grandiose.

i just need this game aaahhh

Yeah, there is a lot going on in the new Zelda Wii U; even if it is partly cel shaded I think it is producing some amazing graphics in an open world setting.

Once we get some more boss-type footage, I think we'll see more people stop defending the old tech demo like it's beyond what Wii U is capable of.

They removed all previous images for some reason.

Might just be me, but does anyone else think that this looks more cartoony/cel shaded than what we saw in previous trailers?

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Oh man, wasn't expecting to see you again now.

Still, anyone kind enough to post shots from the E3 2014's trailer? I'm among those that think there is something slightly different, but it could just be this is during sunset, while the first trailer was at day.

It kind of does. At the same time colors and little details seem just a tad more muted and restrained. They've found a very nice balance between the imaginative and the real. It's dreamy and surreal. This is fine art and it will age extremely well.

It's very strange how they've handled this game. We still don't even have a name. Or maybe it will be "The Legend of Zelda for WiiU"

This game looks way too gorgeous to release on the Wii U. I'm going to predict that the footage we just saw was Zelda on the NX. Read between the lines if you want :D
There is literally nothing to suggest that.

The Wii U is more capable than people give it credit for.

No it's just a very bad image that's crunched up and blury. The actual image shown in the trailer was much more high res and beautiful.

I still think the style is a fusion of Wind Waker HD/Skyward Sword/Twilight Princess.

I like it, I'm not in love with it. I still prefer the tech demos art style and appearance. But I can at least pass it with an okay approval.

Looks like Link has been redesigned compared to the first trailer.

He was quite wirey..now he looks a bit chubbier with a rounder face. I know some said he looked like a girl in the first trailer but it looks like they might have softened his features even more..you really could mistake that for a female Link.

Fingers crossed we'll get a new trailer at the Game Awards.

It was glorious. I keep looking at the horse's animation and SERIOUSLY, I think not even Witcher 3 horses get so much love. AMAZING.

This has to be hand animated because motion capture would never produce those results could it? If this is hand animated, this is like skill of another level. I just was looking at the Witcher 3 and while it looks great, the animation is very stiff almost like every has a stick up its a**.

This is exaggerated and fluid much like the very best Japanese animation. There's a style to it.

Hand animated as opposed to to what? A horse in a mocap suit, Is this a thing? Now Im googling this.

I'm disappointed they're keeping it cross-gen honestly. It means we won't get a Zelda with PS4 power for another six years.

At this point they'd have to redo a lotion the game if they did not want to use it's WiiU roots. They started with the WiiU in mind and I don't think making it NX exclusive at this point would suddenly make the game technically superior.

And on the positive side, this likely means it is fairly easy for them to get a high framerate, good aa and high resolution at the NX. This artstyle will hold up well. Hell, it holds up on the WiiU already.

Link's never been very masculine but this really is the most feminine he's ever looked. I still don't think they've been showing us a dude.

Lol! Only Nintendo could should 5 seconds of a game and get people excited. Even though it is 5 seconds of footage, it is easy to see that Nintendo poured their heart into this.

Don't know, but the Witcher III isn't exactly an example of impeccable animation. It is one of it's worst aspects even, I'd say. Infamous Second Son or even better, MGSV, would be examples of open world titles with good and fluid flowing animations stemming from mo cap.

I think that they don't won't to show to much to avoid spoilers.

As they said, they have been implementing something new within this game.
It's odd that you can also use the zelda tp amiibo for this game...

The visuals is like a dream that come true

Am I the only one who thinks that Linkle will be the main character in this?

I don't think it will. They already said it's link.
Anyway i would like to play with zelda for the first 30min, before she's been capture by ganon. (sort of a pre-story in the game)
But the main character should be link.

Red dead redemption still has the best animated horses in any released video game

Whoever thinks this is not running on Wii U hasn't seen Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Also, stop hating the Wii U version until you get more info about what NX is.

Oh boy, people thinking Link is not male this time are really setting themselves up for disappointment.
Aonuma said last year he was male as usual, just more androgynous so people could imagine him as they wanted.
He doesn't have more feminine features in this trailer, just less defining features overall (both male and female), making him more "anime" as some people are saying. Just look at Princess Mononoke character faces for a good similar example.

Guess because the old screenshots were downsampled 1080p screenshots. This is 720p and much rougher than the previous shots.

Not sure what happened, but the res on this new shot seems rather reduced as compared with the trailer. AA/bloom seems to be gone (sharp, aliased edges on shadows), grass has lost texture detail, draw distance seems shorter and there's an unpleasant smoggy haze covering everything. It's lost quite a bit of that striking Miyazaki style in colors and the painterly quality it had. My guess is that this new footage is from the Wii U version, while the previous version was running on early NX hardware or a PC Target render for the NX.
