Ok so batsnacks is at 29, but I made my arbitrary cutoff at 30.

Andodalf : 61
FluxWaveZ: 59
cabot: 55
CornBurrito: 48
Darryl: 34

As I said, I'd bet money that a mafia member exists among this group. I'm confident I'm innocent,, and I suspect Darryl is town. So my top suspects would happen to be cabot, Flux, Andodolf.

How about instead of targeting those posting the most, we target those posting the least?

That's an odd way to say your town.

yeah, but I like it. Simply saying I'm town! leaves no room for argument, he is considering that town needs to consider him available, and defend himself as he would anyone else. I myself often argue from a non personal logical standpoint, as it's a truer way of having an argument.

He advocates for both. He is simply providing this list to say that one of these people might be scum for a different reason. anybody got a list of the least frequent posters?

Oh I'd agree. As I said, mafia is likely going to go after the highest post count posters. Especially those that lead the discussion in ways mafia doesn't want the discussion to be led in. That initial list I posted will be thinned in the coming days most likely. I just want that list out there for future use.

But since mafia will be thinning the herd from the higher post count posters (unless they suspect a PR exists in low post land or mid post land), it probably isn't wise to help them and accidentally lynch a useful town player. Which is why the safest bet is to cull the herd and go after the non-contributors.

It seems there is some agreement in CornBurrito's assessment that going after low contributing people is a good early game strategy, and I personally agree with it myself.

My experience is that there's usually one high activity mafia and one low activity one. Although another great indicator is mafia that just seems to post things just to post things without contributing anything if value.

Doesn't really help us right now. I don't think post activity is a great indicator on day one, when there isn't a whole lot to actively talk about.

Postcount monitoring is the worst. We can do better than that so let's just not. CornBurrito, you might as well say "Here's 25% of the players. I bet money there's a Werewolf among them." Brilliant.

I still feel like this is a very strange post. RNH is on Darryl's list as well, no? anybody got opinions?

That was quite a slip.

was kinda hasty. Reasonable, but to immediately vote for me is strange. everyone else just ignored my slip or said that they were watching me. Admittedly, I straight up said I was a wolf, But his instant vote deserves being remembered.

That would be a fair criticism if that was my only reason for posting those players. But I've stated why I feel a mafia member would be among the top post count posters.

Also since I was included in that list myself, it was really closer to 4/22 of the players. 18%. 3/22 if you exclude Darryl. Which is 14%. So... it isn't as bad a lead as you seem to suggest.

But eh. I think we just tend to disagree a lot.

You’re taking 25% of the population and declaring scum is among them. Okay…that’s what we’d expect of any subset of this size - how about you, Darryl, and the next three posters. I’m sorry, but your analysis sucks if it’s as good as random chance. You could have just said you’re suspicious of the top three posters, but you threw yourself and Darryl in there too - but hold on, you’re both Town, so we should just focus on the top three posters. Give me a real reason to switch my vote. Framing our investigation around nonsense is a huge scumtell.

Side note: Postcount monitoring is the laziest analysis ever. Completely unproductive and also really creepy. It’s embarrassing how common it is.

Yawn. I've posted other analysis completely unrelated from post counts.

We can just agree to disagree.

actually I really fail to see how it qualifies as "creepy". I'm not manually counting while stroking myself. I'm going to offtopic community and clicking a single link (total post count) on the side of the thread.

It's in the same vein as monitoring "last online." People are out living their lives and someone's in the thread threatening to lynch the bottom posters. Drives up the total postcount of the thread and makes a lot of people drop out. I put it as a side note because you're not doing that.

Stalking individual people to see last online time would be creepy and a little too far for this game. Just looking at post count isn't, in my opinion, intrinsically bad.

Even if you disagree with my "top 3 posters" thing, at least some see value in getting rid of the lowest post count posters for being non-contributory.

Sure, but I did say earlier that I would be voting for someone, and I also said that I didn't have strong reads on anyone. So, since I don't know if you're town or not, and you straight up said you aren't, that's what I'm going with for now. I do feel bad to vote for a brand new player, though, so sorry about that.

We haven't heard from StarSketch either. No comment at all about batsnacks's post regarding her. Which is curious.

I was busy, sorry. Thanks for pointing out this post, though:

Cause Starsketch is the only person in the thread to mention a roleblock, and if a townie did roleblock someone last night there is a very good chance it was mafia... since no one died.

I got my terminology confused. By roleblock I mean things like Doctor, Bullet proof, etc. In general, anything that can stop a NK. Also I swear I'm not the first person to bring this possibility up.

Everything Flux says reeks of scum. The stupid crowd appeals. Everything. How any of you chucklefucks thinks this guy has their interests in heart is way beyond me.

This may have been asked already, but have you given any proof behind what you're saying? I've seen nothing but "It's Flux it's Flux" from you, with no clarification.

Annodof, lollipop Dave, why do you still have your votes on Corn?

It was just an early vote, like many others had done. I don't plan on keeping it on him, but I've got a ton of posts to read through and see what has happened since Saturday morning before I decide who I want to vote for.

Alright the dust seems to have settled a little so I'll make a post.

Flux really wanting to take down Darryl is interesting, sure Darryl's came at him hard, but that's his play. I did get a laugh out of the chuckelfuck post though. Excellent.

Basically, Darryl is a good player and it would be foolish to vanquish him so early. I like Flux so far, so I am disinterested in taking him out either today.

I'm leaning town on the following people:

Flux - Overzealous defense or no, most of his behaviour seems to be solid town, and more to do with he just doesn't like how Darryl goes about things. I disagree on his point that killing Darryl now will benefit town. Darryl's behaviour has helped me get a better idea on some people, including Flux here.
Darryl - He's getting reactions out of new players and that's helping me deduce reads on them, Darryl plays this way town or scum, so he's not a solid town read by any stretch, but he's a positive force in the universe at this stage in the game.
Terra - Seems to be pretty solid, and I agree with most of the things he writes. A pretty good feeling on D1 for this guy.
CB - Eh, he's active and contributing. Finds me suspicious which is healthy enough...it is D1 after all, I think he's overplayed how hard I agree with him, which is basically his point on Mafia choosing a N0 target. Got a little weird with Makai and creepiness, I'll just pretend that never happened.

Other awkward, less solid reads:

RNH - After re-reading RNH's posts, I'm not quite as sure as I was before that he's town. There's beneficial stuff in his posts but theres also a fair amount of nothing as well.
Time - What I see from Time I like, but I see so little that I can't give him a strong read.
ultron - Posts little, hard to read anything from what he posts.
LolDave - His posts are just sort of there. I don't really get anything from them.
Makai - Starting to make an impression now. I thought his postcount argument was maybe a bit of an overreaction but his point was valid. Calling it creepy was not valid. Ever so slightly leaning town.
El Topo - Seems about normal El Topo just now, which means neutral or town based on past experience. I just can't read Topo with any real confidence, not after Election.
Sophia - I've seen posts but I don't read anything specific from her. Pointing towards a null rather than neutral.
XamtheKing - I feel this chap is town, but it's a bit of a gut feel, without much substance behind it.

The following players haven't posted anywhere near an acceptable amount, and are effectively full on null reads:

MattyG, Rolanderson, GreatLord Tiger, StarSketch

I'll single out Rolanderson because he's written a single post containing 'Hey! What did I do?!'. Nothing. You've done absolutely nothing. Step it up.

VOTE: Rolanderson

for now to try and prod him into doing something.

Leaning Scum:

batsnacks - he started saying he'd deliver some kind of town point score for each post made, hasnt delivered. The fishing for a roleblocker incident was......very strange, and basically theres been a few posts where he apologises for not really doing anything pro-town. Come on buddy, where's that NX fire ?! get in the mix.
Andodalf - Apparently he wants to waste Flux to determine whether we can get on our knees and suck from the illustrious dong of Darrly. Making a D1 into some sort of kingmaker mind game is super weird. I don't like that mentality one bit.
QuestionBro - QB is currently similar to Archer in that he breezes in for about five seconds then disappears for five hours. I'm only basing it on that just now, because that's all I have. He was scum in Archer.
Septimus Prime - The weakest scum read, but he has been spreading bad information and that's obviously not helpful. He has posted more than Archer, which is good and A+ for effort, but bad logic is still bad logic.

Leaning Scum:

Style - His posts have just been violent regurgitations of other people's thoughts and ideas. If I wanted a parrot, I'd buy one at a parrot store. Feels like a scum trying to stay in the shadows.

My flux gambit was a ploy to get people talking but his response was very reminiscent to a few times in the past that I've chased scum and was right. Reading his posts doesn't sit well with me, they do not sound like they're coming from a player who has a town role. I'm confident enough to remove him from the game at this point, as confident as someone could be day #1 with little information.

Other players who aren't sitting right with me are Ultron and RNH, who are (imo) sitting very sidelined to this entire argument. Either they could be scum capitalizing on this distraction to stay removed, or because of how aggressive I've been in chasing Flux, are scared to commit to saving him.

Yeah, that's all reasonable. This is always my approach to the first day. I'm of the realistic opinion that the odds of finding a scum on the first day are extremely low. Thus, I just try and prevent myself from getting hung (since I know I'm the one guaranteed town in the game that I know about) and sit back and listen to what people say. I don't really have the time/energy to actually hound people, so I prefer to let others do that. As a corollary to this I'm not going to really go to the wall to defend someone else, even if I think the case against them is weak. Day 1 lynches are always a crapshoot.

Since the spotlight has come my way a bit I have done some reading over the thread. One thing has jumped out as odd to me. That poster is Andodalf.

It was these posts:

I Know :I I'm not sure what to do, but I feel like I can't ignore darryl. I was against him at first, I voted Darrly, but I feel that He is such a boon to the town if he is town, and we need to vet his first call, even if it is unfair to flux.

I agree. You being town means Darryl needs to go. and probably me too. even if we aren't mafia we're shit town. But the same can be said for you and cabot if I turn up town.

He's trying to sell this series of actions for what happens when Flux flips town, but it doesn't make sense. If there aren't power role claims involved, a player flipping town doesn't say anything about the people who lynched that player beyond that their hunch on the day was wrong. To set up a chain of events where it's like "well X was town, and they voted for them, so we better lynch them!" is trying to get the town to play to a script.

These really feel like someone who knows what is going to happen when Flux dies, and wants the town to be ready to throw players, starting with Darryl, up against the wall. It feels more genuine because he's putting himself on the docket for lynching, but after Darryl, of course. Because he knows Darryl will flip town also and can go "Well I was with Darryl and he was town!"

That combined with some slips and stuff puts him on the top of my lynch list.

Vote: Andodalf

Right, so I've decided that I did well enough in AC without notes and it kind of just felt like a MASSIVE time sink that I can't be bothered with as it'll suck all the time out. So fuck that.

On the Darryl/Flux war: I kind of get what Darryl's getting at, but honestly it comes across to me as a new player who's got flustered because there's a maniac saying that he's 90% sure that they're a wolf and not backing it up with anything other than it going into a positive feedback loop of:
1) A accuses B aggressively
2) B gets a bit defensive
3) A uses this as further proof and accuses more
Repeat 2 & 3 ad nauseum. And really, it all felt like garbage, but we're so early on that there's nothing other than that sort of thing to go on.

The post I said I was going to make but didn't would've been going further into an argument with Darryl, but I thought maybe he had a good plan. I also thought getting factions this early is just going to cause problems. If Darryl's right, I'm going to look suspicious, if he's wrong, people might think I was latching onto a villager to look good later. Fuck that, I'm latching onto no-one. Fuck all y'all.

Other:
I'm tempted to vote for Rolanderson with Tiger and Cabot, since they have legit said nothing and that doesn't help us at all, but that's more policy voting than in game reason voting which always feels kind of gross.

Also tempted to vote for Lollipop Dave, him initially voting for CB because CB is open to arguments rubbed me the wrong way. Also at least one of his later posts reminded me of me as mafia in the first game where I did a lot of "this is haaard I don't knooow" empty posting. Hmm.

Fuck it why not. I've got nothing better to go on and it did stick out to me so wth.

VOTE: Lollipop Dave

Andodalf, since you keep bringing it up, what's your problem with my first post? It was something I did without really thinking about the game at all, it was more of a "Woo the game's started!" post *shrug*

Extremely poor deflection. These are the observations we've made of you because they're literally all you've contributed. No new analysis on another player's behavior. No new commentary on the pace or direction of the game. A bunch of fluff to go with your essentially empty posts that tell us nothing.

Haven't gotten suspicious about many players here except for Andodalf, but now I'm adding you. I guess I'll actually post my own reads list in a bit; compiling those seem like a pain.

You get a pass, but starting now I will consider any misspelled votes as scumtells. The vote tracker demands precision, so double-check your votes. mfw someone submits a would-be tie-breaking vote at the last minute but it's misspelled.

I can imagine scenarios where people try to confuse others by intentionally misspelling the names of those they vote for.
