If you run

Code:
ShadowComplex-Win32-EGL.exe -AUTH_LOGIN= -AUTH_PASSWORD= -AUTH_TYPE=

From the Binaries\Win32\ directory, it will launch without the client, but you won't have access to online features such as leaderboards and whatnot.

It doesn't seem to save anti-aliasing and subtitle options when run without client, does it save progress at least?

It's saving progress for me. I think I had an issue the first time, but it's been working ever since.

So I played the first episode of the new King's Quest (thanks, Sony and PS+), and it's better and meatier than I thought it would be?
Will grab Steam version.

Will grab Steam version.

Get Complete Collection to get the bonus Epilogue chapter!
Also CC on Steam was price error-ed for $10 at newegg.com for a few hours :X

Wow, a lot of SNK's stuff has done pretty well on steam. Like KoF 13 has sold 338,600 copies, that's great.

Yup, Last Blade 2 would do well since it's well regarded in general if you ask SNK aficionados about it. If you were to make a list of top 20 fighting games LB2 has to be among them.

Sony did a bad job at thes "console debute" announcements. There were 3 screens there, the middle showed the game, the 2 other said "console debute", but the person up on the stage still said many of them are PS4/PS exclusives.

Im confused.

It's like an infomercial for kitchen knives at 3am on TV, the host can say whatever the hell they want but the real info comes from the small print that flashes on the screen for 2 seconds. Plus games are expensive, I doubt those publisher are going to leave PC money on the table when they clearly haven't in the past.

They are deliberately trying their hardest to make it seem like its only coming to ps4. Both them and MS have been spinning their words since the new gen began. Its really sad.

Sounds like PSX was pretty good for "probably also coming to PC day 1 or later" announcements and stuff.

Good stuff.

Basically.

Last Blade 2 is doing done by code mystics, which also did KOF98UMFE and KOF2002UM on Steam so I could totally see that coming as well.

They've always done this really.

Not to this extent. A 2 hour conference and just about every person who got on stage said some confusing shit. They are better off not talking about any platform at all and instead just show a trailer. But of course Sony has to do something to make people in the crowd happy. Everyone is twisting words for marketing and contractual purposes. Its pathetic tbqh.

Dying Light Enhanced Edition and The Following release date announced

Better graphics! Better performance! Better AI...

Dying Light's The Following expansion will launch 9th February 2016, Polish developer Techland has announced, alongside - as well as included within - a newly unveiled Enhanced Edition of the game. This is for all three formats: PC, PS4, Xbox One.

The Enhanced Edition does what a Game of the Year Edition would typically do - bundle the game and all downloadable content - but with added relish. The enhancements and added extras apparently took half-a-year to create.

The enhancements include:
  • Nightmare difficulty setting
  • Legend system
  • Bounties system
  • New Parkour moves
  • New enemy attacks and behaviours
  • Enhanced facial expressions
  • New NPC models
  • Improved human enemy AI
  • Improved volatile AI
  • Greater firearm variety
  • HUD and video filter customisations
  • Audio upgrades
  • Gameplay quality improvements
  • Console performance upgrades
  • Overall game look and feel improvements
  • #DrinkForDLC Content

Those enhancements are available to any one who owns the game. You'll be able to download them as a patch if you own the game already, or they'll come with the Enhanced Edition itself - it would be jolly strange if they did not.

Also included in the Enhanced Edition are DLCs The Following, The Bozak Horde mode, the Be the Zombie mode, the Cuisine & Cargo challenge missions, the Ultimate Survivor Bundle, and all the content updates released to date. It's a $60 game, so a full-priced game.

The Following expansion is available either alone or as part of the Season Pass, which will be raised in price to £24 on 8th December. Currently it's £16. Techland announced its intention to up the price about a week ago, explaining that The Following had grown so large it required a bigger price. Alternatively you can buy The Following alone for £16.

The Following introduces drivable buggies to the game, which can be murderously modified and full-throttled around a giant new map that's the same size as Dying Light's current maps combined, apparently. See it in the trailer below.

Dying Light came out at the very beginning of 2015. Made by the team who brought us Dead Island, it presented a familiar premise: co-operative zombie slaying, albeit this time with Parkour - free-running - manoeuvrability. It was a bit scruffy back then but after nearly a year of updates it's in better shape.

Just seen the DOTT remaster trailer.
Is it just me, or they basically passed the original game through a random scaling algorithm available on ScummVM and called it a day?

Animations (and no lip sync) seem exactly identical to the original ones, what's the point in doing a lazy job like this? :/

The short answer is "Money."

The long answer is "Money. Duh."

They even said the new character in SFV is PlayStation exclusive. Confusing shit is right.

Capcom would have to be insane to pull that. Thankfully it looks like it was only Anthony Carboni saying that, and not an actual Capcom rep, so that's probably just a slip of the tongue.

I could see, at most, new DLC characters popping up early on PS4. But I highly doubt they'd do that.

For all intents and purposes, it's intended to stay close to the OG sprites 1:1.
You get the original game with it anyways so no biggy.
I personally like the new art and really we got over the lip sync issues of Life is Strange and we'd still vote that as GotY, so I don't see the issue here.

still kills me when PS fans are excited for indies. When more than half of them are already on steam. Only benefit is the vita play so you can be portable, but you can argue a laptop for that.

I´m sorry but I don´t find anything wrong with that. They prefer to play on PS platforms because their friends play there, they like trophies, whatever option you prefer.

Aren´t we always saying games should be available on all platforms? We should be happy when more people get the chance to play them on any platform. What about games that come out years later on PC, should pc gamers act differently than those PS fans?

You could argue they could get it for less on pc but developers won´t mind if someone spends a little more on their games. Maybe the higher price makes them be more selective when buying games.

Being someone who has over 1000 games on steam I´m sure I wasted a lot more money on bundles for games I´m never going to play.

You know why you shouldn't have GOTY awards or an awards show before the year is out? Because you miss stuff like Xenoblade Choricles X. 34 bloody hours I've put into this so far and it's an exploration freaks wet dream. To parrot what someone said in the OT, everything about it is massive except the UI text (which is really, really tiny).

Soooo owners of the base game and the season pass essentially get the enhanced edition but there is also another enhanced edition as a seperate game?

They also announced a battleborn character is exclusive to PS4 in Beta and exclusive content for a DLC of Destiny including an exclusive gamemode and gear.

And games that are exclusive to PSVR in Holiday 2018 in beta for chinese Early Access user with at least over 100 hours of overtime at their workplace.

Fuck this industry. Really fuck it. I love videogames, but this industry can be so full of shit.

I agree with the OP. If something is announced to be a 'console exclusive' by the definition of 'exclusive' it implies that it will only be available on consoles.

Naughty Dog games are actually console exclusive, likewise Bloodborne, but Cuphead apparently is also 'console exclusive' yet coming to PC.

It's the new 'literally'.
Yeah, I don't agree with some there who say it's very clear that console exclusive means it will come to PC as well and generally that all this is not confusing at all.
Come on, if it wasn't confusing so many would not have to ask around. Even for definition of words.

True, but it's because there's barely any 3rd party exclusive stuff any more, so they have to dance it around it more. Well, they don't have to but it makes them look better to the average casual viewer who doesn't realize all that stuff is multiplatform anyway.

For all intents and purposes, it's intended to stay close to the OG sprites 1:1.

Well it's not that confusing to people in the know like here on GAF who can read between the lines, but yeah it's still often clearly intentionally ambiguous language.

Precisely. Holding them in the first few months of the next year makes the most sense, as that means everything is eligible and you've time to properly digest all the games and way up the merits of them over a few months.

If it's anything like Grim Fandango it's mostly that it's very hard to get the old game running on a modern PC. I agree as remasters they're very meh.
