I wish Daigo had won. The finals sapped some of my hype.

Although tbh, after Kazunoko 3-0'd Xian we all knew the game. Crazy that the one who came closest to beating Kaz was 801 wasnt it?

Yun is a fucking ugly character

That is all

He represents everything that is wrong with sf4. Props to kaz recognizing the cheapness in him tho.

Daigo saw it when he played him for a bit, but he wanted to fight fair. So he picked a more balanced character.

Momochi looked kinda out of it the last few tournaments. Also there was that bizarre set he had against Fuudo at Canada Cup where he did all that weird shit.

That battle was between who can focus cancel into damage more effectively. Fitting for SF4's end

Full focus from half screen too strong

And he went 0-2! Crazy how I feel every SF4 tournament comes down to who draws who in the brackets.

Kazunoko is a monster and deserved his win. A long time consistent player who I just really enjoy watching. Also, one of the few players in this tournament with nothing in front of their name.

Valmaster doesn't count. :p

LMAO, Daigo dropped his ass when he got nerfed from his god status when AE 2012 patch was released. Kaz was the only one who stuck with him so mad props to him.

Tbh Kazunoko was due to win something big like this for a while. I know he won that major recently but like one over the world's best.

Nah, Daigo just wanted to pick a top tier as well. He's only picked stromg characters in every game he's played for nearly two dcades.

if you were able to rewrite the timeline of this tournament, what would it be?

-keoma beating snake eyez to face daigo (might be more competitive)
-poongko beating daigo and xian to face kazunoko for a more exciting grand finals
-fword + logan doing commentary for top 8

Even though I haven't played SF4 seriously since KOF13 came out, I gotta say I'm a little sad to see it go as a main game. Sure I hated playing the damn thing, but it defined an entire generation of fgs. Capcom Cup was an amazing send off, and this had to have been the most SFIV I've watched in a single day since vanilla. Excellent matches all around.

Bring on SFV

The ceremony and ending were a bit lame indeed
Well earned win for Kazunoko. He was the bigger beast

Still. Nice to see Misse get to fifth place with Makoto
I can hope she appears in SF5 eventually but it will probably take a long time before we see Makoto in SF5 though .. if at all.

Lets hope SF5 in general will be good

New stage has Juni/Juli and a Delta Red member in the background.
Didn't even notice that at first.

Pretty much this

Daigo had the air attacks almost spot on. If he used Ryu with the double hit air, would Daigo be able to counter better after the hits? Meaning if he connected the double hit to a fireball or uppercut?

Shocked he didn't use that instead of the jab

Jump jab starts up faster and has more active frames. It's a safer choice in this air to air situations. Plus Evil Ryu's jump mp just isn't as good a other juggle attacks in this game like Seth's. You often don't get both hits or pop them up the way you want to unless your opponent is in a certain range and height compared to you.

well hopefully sf5 daigo picks ryu :p

I'm hoping he uses one of Urien, Guile, or Ryu. I really want to see his Guile again.

Disappointed and surprised at the prize money for next year's pro tour. You would think they would put more money into their new game over the game that was 7 years old. Hopefully there is some crowdfunding.

Wonder if Sony did a multi-year sponsorship and it was all assigned years ago.

question: is capcom cup a big tournament like Evo? i dont know anything about fgc outside of Evo, thanks in advance for any answers

Poongko looked physically sick and was playing really sloppy most of his top 8 run. Pressure must have got to him.

He looked unbeatable when he played Momochi.

Capcom Cup is like the March Madness of Street Fighter. During the year players earn the right to be in Capcom Cup by doing well in other tournaments (EVO, CEO, etc.)

Here's where I was sitting. It was the best tournament I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot.

its new (started in 2013 iirc) so it doesnt have the prestige that evo does. still its the first time the developer have actively put money into the scene in a big way so its def up there with evo as most important tournament of the year for sf players. way more money involved.
