Humble Ubisoft Bundle (Grow Home, CoJ: Gunslinger & Rayman Origins for $1)

AC: Rogue is worth it for 15 bucks, on top of the other stuff.

Stuck in the previous gen, yet it was a way better game than Unity.

You guys understand that even if it was Steam you would have to go through Steam and also Uplay? It's actually less hassle to go through just one DRM instead of the two.

The steam games use uplay as a wrapper / DRM...but the file & patch distribution is handled by Steam. Some people like the peace of mind that their game files are in the Steam ecosystem

That's how my steam copy of FC3 works anyway...unless they have changed it since ?

Setting up a uPlay account forced me to confront the fact that I had an account on the Ubisoft forums in the mid-2000s. Looking at some of the old threads I started.....*shudder*

Not that I'm any better now.

This bundle is a taste of all Ubisoft franchises. Except for Assassin's Creed, you'll notice there's only one game from each series. We might get Trackmania, Trials or Might & Magic games next.

Trials would be nice. Here are uPlay codes I don't need:

I just tried out AC Rogue -- I can't believe how well it runs on my ancient system. Looks pretty nice for an older AC game, too. Looking forward to seeing what else they add.

I thought the same thing when I bought the game last year from Amazon for cheap. Makes me sad that AC III and Black Flag run like ass. Black Flag is better but Rouge is a well optimized title on my old PC.

Isn't Rogue on the Black Flag and 3 engine/Anvil Next? Since technically it was a PS360 generation title ported over like them?

Also if I had known Rogue was gonna be that much in a bundle a month later from the Steam sale, I would've waited and just bought Unity alone. :| Double so since I still don't have China and that would've been thrown in with the $15 purchase. So uh... if anyone doesn't want Assassin's Creed: China and feels like giving me it, I'd appreciate it. (Or I guess I'll wait to see what they add, but everything there I already own or don't want besides China)

$15 for Grow Home, Rogue, AC: China, CoJ and The Crew seems like a fantastic deal. Is the Crew really that bad? Already have FC3, Rayman and Blacklist.

You're smart. You're loyal. Don't ever play yourself and get Grow Home, one of the GOTY 2015.

5. Grow Home ; This is the ET game that we deserve! Finally a gorgeous 3D platformer that brings enough new wrinkles to the formula to set it apart and be worthy of being compared to the 90s golden era for this genre. BUD's design is possibly the cutest and clumsiest for any videogame robot I've ever seen what with his procedural animation making his individual parts move on their own accord similar to another Ubisoft property, Rayman. There are very few 3D platformers that are just about exploration and with this, you're trying to get from ground zero on a planet to space through the help of making tree branches grow higher into the atmosphere. The music, the low poly aesthetic, the atmosphere, all come together that fit with the game's philosophy of being a relaxing experience. But don't let the production values fool you, the game can be quite challenging because there's very little hand-holding or automaticity to the platforming (like there's no ledge grab). You can grow the tree branches in whichever direction and that manual freedom can make for tense involving platforming. Abilities get introduced throughout but just the simple joys of clumsy platforming with the GIRP-like controls that have to be mastered and even if you fall, it's still fun to freefall into the ocean to then get back all the way up with the use of teleporter checkpoints. There's no other game from 2015 that gave me this simultaneous atmosphere of relaxation and challenge, and I commend it for that.

If Rogue and Far Cry 4 were in BTA tier I would have bought it or Unity at $15 tier... as such... no thanks, next time ubi!

75 dollars, holy shit. The Crew without the expansion, worthless 15 tier.
This is good to know. Was contemplating it for The Crew, but if it's shit without Wild Run (or whatever it's called) I'll give it a miss. Maybe it's included in the BTA, in which case waiting won't hurt.

So much bad press for UPLAY, think of it like this, IF UPLAY dies, I'm sure these games will be converted to steam games...

If that's how it works then it's much better than Uplay handling patches, recently tried to play Anno 2070 through Uplay and had nothing but trouble trying to get it to run (it told me it needed to be patched but just went into an infinite reboot loop trying to do it), eventually found some offline patch through their forums which fixed it but by that time I didn't even want to play it.

You're a brilliant man. Your post is wrong though - where it says "5" it should say "1." A small oversight, but I forgive you.

What do you mean? It did come out in 2015.

Grow Home doesn't use the uplay wrapper at all. It's 100% Steam.

Grow Home is much better than I expected but feels like I'll have it finished by tomorrow, wonder if they'll consider doing a sequel.

Grow Home controls reminds me of QWOP. I'll never get into purely physics-based controls ever. What am I missing here, people.

Anyone know if you can combine two uplay accounts? I set one up ages ago on psn with an email address I no longer have access to. And recently new one for uplay. But if like the game history from the psn one to combine with my library on the new one.

For you.

Gunslinger and Grow Home manage to not have uPlay integration at all though , which reminds me of something amusing: Grow Home, a game made by a Ubisoft internal dev team, is a Steamworks game. Even their employees think uPlay is crappy and prefer steam ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just keep playing, you will get better at it. It was the same for me at the beginning, few hours later I was jumping and diving fluidly wherever I wished to. It's awesome when you get the hang of it.

Agreed, Just finished it tonight and had a hard time putting it down, actually I didn't finish it 100% and still have a lot of achievements to unlock, so I'm not completely done yet.

Man I went into Call of Juarez Gunslinger with zero expectations and I'm really digging it. A whole lotta fun to be had there.
