you guys understood it in some weird way, we were just talking that they don't have to add more games for that bundle to sell, not that they don't have more games.

It will sell. Just not for me sadly. I would only buy it for S;G, but if it comes to Steam in 2-3 months, I dont know why I should buy a DRM-free copy.

So I'm probably going to pick up Hook, Kami, Rocket League and maybe Zeno Clash this sale. The first two are because I liked LYNE which looks pretty similar. Zeno Clash is dirt cheap and Rocket League is one I have to get at last.
Any comments on those?

Hook is a nice little game, easy though
not really like LYNE, but what is.

edited: everybody, buy LYNE if you know what's good for you.

This is an Off-Topic post, but people have discussed in here.

I'm kind of disappointed with the X-Files miniseries. It's great from a nostalgia standpoint, but it doesn't seem to be going fuck all anywhere. Two episodes left and they're still piling on questions without resolving shit.

Yeah, but they had the lead singer of Rancid guest starring.

Oh, you already said nostalgia.

Dark Souls 3 is coming pretty soon.

February 15 - This game will unlock in approximately 5 days and 10 hours :O

That's clearly a mistake, right? Everything leading up to this has said March 24th. Googling it gives that date, too.

This would be awesome.

If you were to tell me we were 5 days from a new Dark Souls game I would have said you were a liar, that game really came out of nowhere for me. I think it just shows how stacked Q1 was this year that a game like Dark Souls 3 comes as a surprise.

EDIT: I guess it isn't the release date lol, shows how out of the loop I am...

Zeno Clash can be a little clunky with the first-person brawler mechanics, but there's really nothing else like it out there. If it interests you, I'd say go for it.

My piracy thread was closed :(

It was doomed to close from the start; piracy should not be an alternative if a game gets removed from a digital service.
It's a touchy subject on GAF. You could discuss it here, but in the main forums you'll get slammed hard.

But why? I mean if a game gets removed from a service (or lets say you buy Steins;Gate from JastUSA digitally, they go under and the game is not available on their download servers anymore) and you download it somewhere else, would it be bad to pirate it?

That's the Japanese release date. It's April 12th for the rest.

Can't agree with this at all. The first episode was bad but the rest have been fantastic. They're monster of the week episodes so I'm not sure what you were expecting, the 2 remaining episodes will return to the main plot.
Everyone in the OT is loving the hell out of this season.

Fucking hell >_<

All of a sudden XCOM 2 crashed halfway through the last mission, and now my saves don't work! Seems this is not uncommon from the forums. Get this fixed Firaxis bloody hell >_<

I think if there's no other way to acquire a game at all, as in no way to possibly give the developer/publisher your money for the game because they just don't sell it anymore or they are out of business or whatever. Then yeah, I can see it being okay, as you're not harming the makers of game because there is no market for the game anymore.

If you own a movie ticket and the movie theater burns down so you can't watch the movie, is it okay for you to pirate the movie?

Same question, looking at it from law's side.

Hm...

I dont mean that if a game is out of print that you just download it then. I mean imagine Valve releases HL3 on Steam, then removes it 1 week later without refunding you, would it be okay to pirate it?
Or imagine Valve does it, then after 2 weeks, they release it again and want you to pay for it again.

Its not a movie, but usually the insurance (at least in Germany) would refund the cinema tickets.

And the laws side is different in Germany/Europe than in the US. A high court decided like 2-3 years ago, that even if the terms state "we can always revoke your licence whenever we want" that such clause doesnt have any effect, since you paid for the software already and they cant just take it away like that (if its not clearly stated like Office365 or the Adobe CC versions).

Yeah that's a tough question on that front, I can't say what would be the right thing to do. But if Valve did what you describe then they can fuck right off, that's just straight up theft on their part lol.

For you.
I know their financial situation isn't the best, but im really sad at how they are handling bringing the series to Steam... Start by bringing the mobile one nobody knows, then bring the first one but in early access... *sigh*. Hopefully they can bring all the games and be sucessful, I like the series.

Told ya guys that the new Hitman is awesome, glad to see the previews agree.

So a guy that I have traded with weeks or months ago is coming back to me and says that the key he got from is not working. He just wants to know where I got the key which I got from a bundle, not from trading.
He tried to trade it away to another guy which told him that the key isn't working. What should I do here?

Without trying to whip up this discussion after a thread closure it massively depends on the laws of your country. Let's put morals to one side for a second and just focus on the legality of it, where most countries have fairly obvious laws regards to copyright infringement where that would be considered illegal and a criminal offence regardless if the company went bust (some countries have massively different lengths of time as to when something becomes Public Domain, if ever at all). But there are countries with stipulations or lax piracy laws altogether the likes of Russia, Switzerland and Spain, with the later even having past court cases on record, that could actually make that legal (pretty much always only in the case for personal use). End of the day though IP and Copyright laws the world over are in desperate need of a rewrite for the modern digital day and age (especially in the US).

I'm looking for another metroidvania to finish from my backlog. What's the consensus on UnEpic? I know I already played it for maybe 30-45 min a year or two ago, but I can't really remember a lot about it.

If you had bought it and somehow couldnt download it anymore from the oficial site, you would be fully entitled to pirate the game.

I'm sure the game will be great but its still odd of them to release it piece meal. They should have just held off until its all complete and release it for $60 later in the year. They haven't even given exact dates for any of hte other episodes. Thailand, US and Japan are supposedly coming out later in the year. Episodic AAA games just seems like an awful experiment.

Did Just Cause 3 performance improve or does it still run like trash?

Thats whats my opinion, but seems not everyones. So I actually wanted to start a proper discussion about that topic, but it was locked faster than the Fist of the North Star.

Well, did someone make a thread about that Dark Souls 3 release date change on gaming side? Because I sure as hell will not dare.

It's always bad to pirate. You can make up any scenario or put up any excuse to make it seems like an acceptable solution, but two wrongs (your purchased download not being available anymore and you resorting to illegally getting what you believe is yours, in this hypothetical scenario) don't make a right.

So you should sue and wait 2-3 years?

Thats what someone did in Germany and thats why those "terms ala "we can revoke the licence whenever we want" are void.

I am not talking about the legality of the act, but more about the moral aspect.
