Love Boat [Mafia] |OT| Till Death Do Us Part

The fact that you don't turn your nose up at information that you can easily get?

We understood it wouldn't confirm that we were town. That's essentially a given for a miller. We lost nothing and potentially gained something for town by withholding our name.

All this for the shot that Flux is telling the truth and dies on N2, and lends you a little more credibility? It's a net loss.

Seriously, even the best-case scenario, where you catch Flux on his lie and he can't name your role name, all we have left is more question marks than we started with.

It's clear that it's a lie.

It being Blawl's reveal, Flux' reveal, Blawl's reasoning...

Th... Ah... I see.

It would still be really weird and counterintuitive to not claim miller and (if I haven't misunderstood you) also think that claiming miller could kill Fluxaisis at night if they really are role cops. I sure as hell wouldn't.

Kawl,

Is there any word on your role name that you could share? Not the whole thing (since you are trying to get flux and time to show up at your boat for investigation) but just a word or two.

Something that we could work with, it's just so far fetched that alignment, role names and tracking would matter in a game with only 15 roles.

IDGAF about millers btw.

Without cops, we are all millers.

Also Kark if Flux died early that's really his fault more than anyone else's. Don't really understand your point here.

Why not wait until D2?

HEY I HAVE AN IDEA

What if flux/time check someone RANDOMLY without telling us who they are checking... and blarg/kawl track flux/time?

Then tomorrow blarg/kawl tells us who flux/time visited and flux/time tells us the role name of who they checked. That lets us check both their roles.

Pretty good idea, right?

They're likely not going to share that, but it seems clear that "Miller" is not part of their role name. So trying to confirm them with a NameCop is pointless.

Or they could track Flux, and then tell their scumpartners whether or not Flux actually visited them before submitting their kill.

I have no problem with this. The only downside would be timeflux hitting and revealing a town PR. But it does seem to be an elegant solution.

As far as I understood, this plan was only to confirm Flux, not Blawl. They remain unconfirmed (along with literally everyone else)

Again, was never the point to confirm us with a name cop. That's backwards. But also yes, I am not going to share that sorry.

Which doesn't matter because if Flux is confirmed, he dies. We can scold Flux all day for his roleclaim, but collectively following through on bad plans is on us.

I'm bad at explaining thoughts I have:

0. it's night time and both flux/time and blarg/kawl are alive
1. flux/time uses their role check on someone of their choosing, without telling anyone who
2. blarg/kawl track flux/time
3. it's now d2
4. blarg/kawl first tell us who flux/time visited, confirming their tracking ability
5. flux/time tell us the role name of who they visited
6. person flux/time visited confirms/denies their role name, confirming flux/time's role cop ability
7. ????
8. profit?

Yeah it made sense, the potentially huge downside is it reveals another PR

...are you suggesting they would get their night action results before submitting the NK? What?

Unless Burb wants to clarify the timing issue, Gafia games have typically allowed night kill submissions after receiving night information (when scum has information roles).

You should know this, it was like that when you were scum in Danganronpa.

Wtf is this bullshit? There is no way in hell you believe a word of that

True couldn't hurt to ask though. Even if they had followed through it likely would have been something like "of".
Probably should have run that by you in chat first right?

Why not wait until D2?

Because day 1 we don't have much to talk about except inactivity, role claims and blind guesses. Of the three, I find role claims the most interesting.

Just to clarify for anyone that hasn't been scum:
It doesn't work like that. It's NEVER worked like that.

...unless there are any Animal Crossing players in here that want to correct me

All possible results of the night actions will be given only after the deadline of giving any night action commands.

So all night action results will be sent only after the deadline of ALL COMMANDS is up. This of course, includes the NK command of the scum team.

Uh...what? AFAIK the night actions occur concurrently, so information shouldn't be given to PRs until the day is ready to start, (I.e., after scum has picked a target).

I was probably thinking more about livegame structure (where all that bookkeeping is done in the same phase).

Anyhow, thanks Burb

Also, as for batsnacks' plan - it's not very good.

First of all, we're potentially outing a Town PR for the sake of confirming two weaksauce roles.

And the catch is that we have to simply believe that they chose the target randomly and are being honest.

Look, Kark, the subtle means by which you defame us by continually repeating the tactics revolving around facing an early Miller introduction and subsequent natural suspicion resultant, is a hella cheap trick of a lynch push. Because that's what you are. Doing.

This is what we got, and we served it to you. I won't apologize for it being concurrent with the whole Timeflux debacle. Kawl, agree with me

And, you know what; honestly, I don't give a damn if Team Timeflux chooses to peek at us Tonight or not. If we benefit or not, whatevs, and vice versa. That public pre-empting shit's extra to OUR OG Miller claim; they may have been first, but we were First. I mean, do you honestly believe that Kawl and I based OUR flawless tandem debut on their flaccid, uncoordinated entrance? pls

So, like, if you're really feeling that way about us, Kark, then go drop that red already and build your policy traction after the fact. Stop circle-strafing and get to it.

Do it, Kark.

I want you to do it

Or start coming up with more plans on how to use us, because I'm lazy

Are there any Animal Crossing players here? Did it work like differently there?

If not I'd like to know why Kark is telling such an easily catchable lie.

VOTE: Karkador
If that is in response to his action order claim, I find this vote a bit suspect. With out heavy WIFOM, I find it hard to believe Kark would make such a silly mistake as scum. Obviously me and Kark are having a bit of a disagreement here, but don't want to let this slide by. Feels like an exteme low effort vote.

If it's in response to more, expand a bit please.

Seconded. Kark is weird but this vote isn't great either

His approach. This isn't the first time I've voted for Karkador; I had retracted my vote before, but now I'm putting it back. His method of interrogation—not just in regards to you—s seemingly to overlook what people are saying so he can construct and push his own story about it. I haven't played against Karkador, though, so I don't know if this is just his playstyle. Reminds me a bit of Darryl in Wolf 1—who ended up being Town—except it's not the arguments he was dismissing, but rationale.

And then there's Zipped, trying to look into Blarg and Kawl's role name for some reason, along with Karkador also being quite insistent on that point.

And I don't like this:
Probably should have run that by you in chat first right?

Things that could go wrong, you've also forgotton about:
Flume killed
Blawl killed
scum switcher
scum roleblocker

flume visiting a town power role... doesn't seem terrible unless it's a doctor, we get three more or less confirmed townies instead of 2 question marks.

person flume visits dies n1... sucks but seems improbable.

flume killed... beats having to lynch them eventu

blawl killed... ^

scum switcher... sucks

scum roleblocker... if blawl or flume gets roleblocked they are probably town-aligned

blawl/flume fake claims being roleblocked... sucks

So yeah a lot can go wrong I guess.

Maybe El Topo has the solution to all our problems.....

El Topo is currently doing research for something completely unrelated because he was stupid enough to promise that he would deliver results today. He realizes that this will probably take until (at least) midnight.

El Topo is also completely baffled people are entertaining the idea of not (really) brutally lynching someone who role-claimed within the first ten minutes of Day 1. Then again, if only that had been the only role-claim.

El Topo also has no idea why he is writing in 3rd person, but he is starting to like it.
