Nintendo is actually publishing a lot of games this year. I might also say this is probably the best first-party 3DS release list in North America ever. (Fire Emblem, Rhythm Tengoku +, Metroid, and at least one decent game out of the two big mystery titles).

Note: Shouldn't Mario & Friends: Amiibo Challenge be one of those titles? Or do eShop titles not count?

Any idea if Federation Force is getting changed up at all? Or has the media blackout been a coincidence, with the game still coming in the form that was shown last year?

It's a friend of a friend of OP. And that's not the type of info the source gave.
N-Stars is not "unannounced" so there are finitely many possibilities.

But yeah I don't know.
It's possible that op/friend/w/e forgot to label it as unannounced.

Not sure why the source felt the need to go as far as leaking financial information. They're straight fucked if they are found out.

Interesting how I was sorta right about the Dragon Quest games being spaced out so far from each other XD! More then enough time for everyone to play through both :).

A new Pokemon game is expected but nice seeing more news pile up about that. More confirmation on Disney Art game is nice too.

But the code named game N-Stars has me wondering. N could easily represent 'Nintendo', so......could this be out major Amiibo game for the year? It could focus on using all the amiibo for some major action/platformer and with the 3DS getting a price drop, perfect game to launch alongside that.

There's no reason to be annoyed. Zelda being cross-platform, like with Twilight Princess, just makes sense at this point in the game.

As someone who hardly uses their Wii U, played and bought WW HD, Smash, MK8, Bayo 2,and bought it for future Zelda U. I also bought the LE for Xenoblade, and haven't played it yet lol. I am not annoyed one bit, I'd gladly take the NX version if it means better hardware for a visually better game.

I remain hopeful for a NX version of Smash. I'm holding off on buying Corrin, Bayonetta, and Cloud until we get more info.

How does funding from marketing of a Zelda U game change to Zelda NX game if the games are supposed to be the same ?

....or they are NOT supposed to be the same ? =O

Also yeah, hype for the Nstars thing

Didn't they release OoT 3D, Mario 3D Land, and MK7 in one year?
Probably still better.

Orgen (I think that's their name) said that the Cadillac game is a Style Savvy 3 localization in the now-locked NX thread.

FWIW that's the user who actually leaked Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.
This is the game I'm waffling on importing a EU system/game for, so please be true.

Although "Torte City" as a codename would make way more sense.

Curious what these unannounced games would be.

More interesting this includes confirmation that an NX home console for a 2016 launch. No details about Wii U though? Not that I expect it to get all that much going forward.

Well, we did get that Paper Mario Leak not long back. If the NX Console is coming out this year, don't expect anything else for Wii U outside of the already announced games.

Cadillac is Style Savvy, so hoping Caviar is Picross 3D. Both Rhythm Heaven games bombing would lead me to believe this (at least both were heavily discounted). Of course I'd love both to come to retail, but if I must choose one...

Wow. Nice info dump.

Will NX be backwards compatible with Wii U? That's the only thing holding me off from selling it.

Instead of pushing the Wii U sku in advertisements and such, they'll place NX as the main focus.

Oh man this is EXCITING.

I fell like Torte City has to do with Animal Crossing.

I could picture it being a new 3DS AC game; assets likely cheaper to make vs the Wii U and the series does very well on 3DS (I think at least). If we get a new Animal Crossing game, I could picture it landing on 3DS this year with the console one being saved for the NX.

If it's a small eShop only title, it might not have any marketing cost worth noting such that it appears on this list. It'll get a spot on a direct and/or a press release and that's it. Same with BoxBoy and, presumably, Picross 3D.

I was with you until "N-Stars."

Caviar F and Torte City are really good code names, though; that was a nice touch.

Any info on the Wii U side of things? I know you said it doesn't seem nearly as good, but SMT x FE, Star Fox, Zelda U, and Paper Mario (if that pans out) seems somewhat comparable.

Oh god this is like the Nintendo fans equivalent of complaining Quantum Break is coming to PC lol.

Even dumber since at least those Xbox fanboys could worry it takes away some X1 sales, where as any Nintendo fans should be happy for anything that helps sell the NX after the Wii U sales failure.

Just a note to people, and especially blogs, reading this: when we "verify" sources, what we do is get a name to the source and verify that they are in a position that could plausibly know the things that they say they know. We do not verify what they're claiming, just that they are theoretically in a place to be claiming the things they are.
Too late. I told everybody you said the information is 100% legit and you all risked your mod status if it's wrong :p

No. It changes because instead of putting up signs of the Wii U version, showing off the Wii U version of the game, Wii U bundles, Wii U cover art in ads, there showing off the NX version as the flagship for the NX while quietly not talking about the Wii U version.

Think of it like how EA and Microsoft talked extensively about Titanfall on XB1 with almost no info or marketing on the 360 version. Or how twilight princess for the Wii got the bulk of media attention as it was marketed as the flagship title to launch the console, while the GameCube version was an afterthought in marketing and even came out two weeks after the Wii version despite starting development for the GameCube.

Good to see both DQ's still confirmed for 2016. There oughta be some distance between each release so maybe summer will be summer summer? Hoping the Style Savvy 3 hints are for reals!

Congratulations Trevelyan9999!

Really happy to know we'll finally get Zelda U and the NX (stationary, I hope) this year. I wish you'd got more Zelda info tho... :p

Take care of that handsome leaker you got! ;)

Yep. It's seriously messed up since it can affect stock prices.

There's been quite a few leaks at Nintendo of late and someone is bound to catch something.

The Wii U line up for this year is most likely this:
-Zelda Wii U
-Pokken
-Star Fox Zero
-Mario and Friends Amiibo Game
-Mario & Sonic
-Pikmin 4
-Paper Mario Wii U
-#FE (NA/EU Release)
-Zelda Wii U

We might get something else (HD Remaster?) but nothing else I really expect for this year.

Can we not. We just came out of two animal crossing spinoffs last year, and the system has newleaf for the mainline game.

That is true, but its clear they also want to sell more AC amiibo, since those did not sell as good as Smash did, or even the mario ones.

I want to think its an Upgraded version of New Leaf, with Amiibo support, and maybe the City Elements of the Wii version.

That's a pretty big deal to have revealed an upcoming 3DS price cut this fall. Anyone that follows gaming news will want to avoid purchasing a new handheld until the price cut comes.

That is basically it, you got it. Paper Mario is still a rumor since Wii U only has 1 more unnanounced game that Nintendo is funding.

One of those mystery games better be Rhythm Heaven The Best +.
Cadillac was apparently confirmed by another GAF insider to be Style Savvy. So if I had to guess, I'd say that Caviar F is Rhythm Heaven Plus.

Either way, there's really only 4 major new games from Nintendo themselves (3 if you discount Game Freak). The rest of this list is mainly late localizations & third party games picking up the slack. Clearly Nintendo's ramping up for the NX Platform.

Has Pikmin 4 actually been linked to Wii U at all? I think it's more likely going to be an NX exclusive at this point.

Welp, if Zelda is on both NX and Wii U day one, guess I'm getting an NX day one. (assuming it looks better graphically).

Wonder what it means for Zelda U gamepad usage. I'm assuming it's like WWHD and TPHD: Gyro aiming, map, items equippable, camera control, but the game still works with a pro controller.

How many of these games need a direct and not just PR with a trailer?
cause I can use a new direct...

I agree; we likely are getting three major Nintendo Launch games with four-six Nintendo games releasing throughout 2017 for the NX.
-3D Mario
-Zelda NX
-WarioWare/Wii Sports Team Title
