I pray to use this gif tomorrow after the Nintendo Dreck.

In case many people doesn't know what this is about, I'm asking for a western localization of Shin Megami Tensei IV Final

My wishlist:

Plausible:
Metroid Federation Force update and trailer
Star Fox Zero delay, trailer
#FE English trailer
Nintendo account stuff
Monster Hunter X

Not likely:
Zelda Wii U trailer
Mother 3
SMT IV Final

Damn bobby you crazy!:
Wonderful 102
NX reveal fakeout
Mature Kid Icarus game that appears on every fake leak list.

Likewise. I think Star Fox will be good too.

Of the rumoured stuff I'm most excited/nervous about Paper Mario. If the WiiU got a TTYD level game, that would be amazing.

Yeah my initial impression was that star fox zero wouldn't for me but hopefully they manage to change my mind. I've sort of changed my mind on pokken

What if they go "as we said, there won't be any NX announcements here today. But! Here's an announcement of an announcement: Join us for our NX event April 1st".

It's impossible for it to be Gen 6.5. There's no such thing as half gens.

It has new Pokémon, therefore it is Gen 7

Why does Volcanion have affiliation or a role with Magearna in the movie then? That's what I would like to know because they are both "manmade" It seems a bit odd that Kalos doesn't have a mythical pokemon like mew either.

There's no such thing as a half gen until there's such a thing as a half gen.

What the hell even is a half gen? :p

I honestly don't understand how this idea got so popular.

It happens in movies. Movies != games. They exist to promote upcoming stuff

You still have the question mark over Gen VII on the site through :p

Well yeah :p

My favorite thing about the Man Icarus thing (which, as far as I can tell, was real) was Nintendo saying "No, hey, use the Smash Bros. Pit for this" and Factor-5 just basically ignoring them.

No NX news , it seems they will keep them for E3.

Hope to see more about Zelda. Just that.

But not hype train until NX

Exactly. Stop trying to sell your opinion about the future as hard fact.

I never said there will never be such a thing.

As it stands, there's no such thing.

The only way a concept of a half generation could work would be via adding of Pokémon via DLC/Patches. That would be a half generation. This is not.

I still can't believe this entire exchange happened. One of the weirdest things about the pre-Uprising era.

LOL pretty much.

Game Freak LOVE breaking their own rules, for better or for worse. :/

I'm guessing we'll see Paper Mario and Mother 3.

Big hope?

25th Anniversary Sonic game announced as another exclusive, just like Lost World was in 2013 in a Direct, signs point to that being announced this month IIRC.

Awesome, this is exciting. I expected there would be one this month that announces Trev's games (even if he didn't force their hand, there was stuff he mentioned that's coming out too soon that we don't have info on for there not to be).

Aha, there it is. Almost thought we weren't getting one so soon after Pokémon received its own five-minute segment, but in retrospect, we always knew there would be a big push for the My Nintendo membership service. I know that I, for one, have been putting off eShop purchases until we've heard more about how the discount system or future prospects for VC cross-play will work. Big system updates are likely en route for both platforms.

This will also be the last chance to drum up enthusiasm for Star Fox and Federation Force. I'm already interested in the former, but I know many are not.

We usually get one segment teasing something outside the Direct's advertised coverage (in this case, past summer). Best case is Paper Mario. Other than that or Pikmin I can't see what it would be, though the first-party 3DS calendar also looks fairly empty between Federation Force and Sun/Moon. A tiny push for Zelda isn't out of the question given that TP HD is releasing (providing an excuse to talk about the series and address the elephant in the room) and reassure peope amidst all the NX talk that the game is still in good shape for the Wii U.

Not expecting #FE by summer. At most, it might get a push hot on the heels of the success of Fates, or an official English title, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went unmentioned. I do think we'll hear more about Fates DLC past Map Pack 1, though, especially with the Revelation campaign already on its way for those without the Special Edition.

Another Super Mario Maker features patch is certainly welcome, though I've barely had the opportunity to play with the last one, myself.

We should hear about Amiibo up to Cloud/Corrin/Bayonetta but I don't know if we'll get anything about whatever series follows the Smash line (likely Zelda, but not this soon).

- hey, factor 5, we have pit in smash, wanna make kid icarus
- ya, look, we made everything mature
- no, use pit from smash
- k, look again

What if a game took place in a new region with some new legends and a dozen or so other new pokemon...but the same starters? And really just that handful of new Pokémon. Would that qualify as the same gen, a half gen, or a brand new gen?

So if Sun/Moon turn out to essentially be Black2/White2 but with ~30 new Pokemon as well as new Mega Evolutions, you'd consider that Gen VII?

I'm not saying that's likely, but it's not a completely ludicrous idea or you would have updated your site.

This. In every pokemon thread literally people can't handle game freak going off the grid at all. What's stopping them from adding a few new pokemon in a third version eventually? I'm for it.

I got hyped for .0001 micro-seconds when I immediately read the "No NX or mobile info" I understand about NX but why no mobile info when Miitomo is actually launching this month? Nintendo...

Looking forward for this Direct anyways. Not that hyped because really, what else they have left to show? Especially on Wii U. My bets:

- Paper Mario U reveal trailer. Carbon copy of Sticker Star but in HD. Meltdowns across the interwebz.

- More animu RPGs for 3DS (ugh)

- 10 minutes of Metroid Prime Federation Force and lot's of "screw you fans we do what we want despite the massive negative reception with this game. Here's your new Chibi-Samus amiibo wich is the only way to play with Samus on the actual game"

- Pokkén footage nothing exciting.

- Mario and Sonic at the Olympics footage. Megaton

- #FE footage nothing exciting only weirdness that only 5 people are gonna buy.

- New amiibo announced

-Star Fox Zero exciting trailer with a special message by Miyamoto at the end to announce it'll be delayed again.

- Peeeeeeeeeeerhaps a lil trailer for Zelda's 30th anniversary like they did with Mario last year and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe another 3 second teaser of Zelda U of Link running on the same old grassy field we have seen for two years now.

Hype...

Wow, this is extremly accurate, I will save it for later.

The Half Generation theroy doesn't make sense. New Pokemon = New Generation and yet people are trying to say that this is Gen 6.5 despite us knowing there are new Pokemon and therefore knowing that this is Gen 7.

I hate that Zelda WiiU/NX was announced three years ago, was delayed a full year ago now, and getting any information on this game in a NINTENDO DIRECT when fans have been begging for anything online for years is STILL an unrealistic expectation. The last time we saw or even heard a mention of this game aside from the 15 second clip in the last direct was 2014.

I'm not saying that's likely, but it's not a completely ludicrous idea or you would have updated your site.

I consider it Gen 7 based on the following reasons:

1. It includes new Pokémon
2. Compatibility with past gens (yes, XYORAS) is only done via Pokémon Bank
3. The way it was announced; 1996 (RB), 1999 (GS), 2002 (RS), 2006 (DP), 2010 (BW), 2013 (XY) and now...
4. The press release said it was a new generation

least amount of Pokémon in a generation, they're obviously not done :p

They clearly are :p While there were just 72 new Pokémon, there were also 48 Mega Evolutions and 2 Primal Reversions. They're new Pokémon in all but name.

What if a game took place in a new region with some new legends and a dozen or so other new pokemon...but the same starters? And really just that handful of new Pokémon. Would that qualify as the same gen, a half gen, or a brand new gen?

Depends how it works with past games. If they're patched, then that'd be a half gen. If not, that'd make it a new gen.
