The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD |OT| Ooccoo and Son in Glorious 1080p

Preorder coming in tomorrow, very excited for this since I never actually beat TP on Wii or GC. Plus that Midna amiibo is worth every penny

Super hyped. Copy shipped yesterday. This is my whole weekend. Haven't played it in ~5 years or so (right before skyward sword). This will be the kickoff for my zelda franchise replay before zelda u.

Playing hero mode, FPS controls. Maybe ganondorf amiibo on top.

Edit: Definitely playing hero mode w/ ganondorf amiibo.

What do you mean by FPS controls? I thought Hero Mode only offered TPS view for aiming.

-+

BTW, can you still use gyro aiming in hero mode?

For the longest time, I told myself I wouldn't be baited into this. This is admittedly the mainline Zelda which I have played the least (never finished, either), but I was fine with that. But the hype just overtook me this time and I folded and got a preorder yesterday. Hoping that it's not a disappointment. WW HD remake was fabulous, so I do have high hopes that this will work well now with some normal controls.

I read that it's a toggle in the settings and not actually dictated by the mode you pick. I haven't seen confirmation, though. Can anyone confirm?

So you can play almost mainline Zelda game with the Wii U/3DS combo it seems?

LoZ--Both VCs
Zelda 2--Both VCs
Zelda 3--Wii U VC
Link's Awakening--3DSVC
OoT--Wii U VC/3DS Remake
Oracle games--3DSVC
MM--3DS Remake/Wii VC via Wii U Wii Mode.
Mimish Cap--3DS Ambassador/Wii U VC
WW--Wii U remake
TP--Wii U remake/Wii Disc via Wii U Wii Mode
SS--Wii U Wii Mode

If you want you could play the DS zelda's on 3DS as well.

Not sure why you would do that, but it's possible.

And of course you forgot the DS Zelda games that are on WiiU VC and 3DS (via carts).
You're also missing the 4Swords that is on 3DS as a 20th anniversary gift and 4Swords+ which is currently locked on Gamecube.

In short you can play on current gen ALL Zelda games but 4Swords+

e: my copy just shipped from amazon, just has to actually get on the continent where I live AND clear the customs.
See you next week I guess :/

There's also the two 3DS exclusive Zelda adventures, and the Zelda attraction in Nintendo Land for Wii U (which isn't a mainline Zelda game but offers many hours of Zelda content).

Amazon screwed me over (again) with their so called "release day shipping" and stated that the game won't arrive until the middle of next week. I preordered this thing the day it went up on Amazon. I just ended up cancelling the order and preordering at Best Buy with in-store pickup for the same price so I can play it this weekend.

FWIW, if that happens in the future I would recommend contacting Amazon as soon as you see that happens and they can usually make it right for you.

That wouldn't even be compatible with this game, though lol.

Opps, I forgot gamecube controllers only work with Smash Bros. Still don't get that decision.

That's produced by Hori and has been available for almost six months now.

Oh didn't know. Sorry about that.

Looks cool AF. I expect lot's of people asking why this controller doesn't work on TPHD, hah.

I thought it looked pretty cool. Haha I do too.

Wait, does this come out today? I'm supposed to be getting a package today from UPS. But I don't know exactly what it is. I ordered it from Best Buy.

Edit: Woah! I am getting it day earlier than I am supposed to? Thank you based BB/UPS. I never get games early!

What's this? No Jeff Gerstmann and 8.8 jokes?

They need to actually interview him now, and ask what "went wrong" in this game (not remake per se, just the game in general). Was it pacing? Or was it the fact that the Spinner had not much utility except in set locations?

You can check out their Quicklook where Jeff mostly just complains for an hour if you're interested in his... "insight."

Hype havent played it since I beat it on Wii back in 2007

With the gamepad features it should feel like a new game

i preordered this on Nov 12th with prime so why does it say not arriving till tuesday?

I swear to god, this is the sixth or seventh time amazon has not delivered by the release date.

Contact Amazon. Express your displeasure politely and they should make it right somehow.

And last week's giant bombcast. His criticisms are mostly valid. He just weighs them higher than I do, which is fine.

Got my game today. I only played the Wii version, so it's kind of weird playing without motion controls, but also great at the same time.

The amiibo is also pretty cool. I have not listened to the included soundtrack yet.

So the cave of shadows saves if you used any amiibo, if you're normal/hero mode, and your remaining hearts - and then presumably that save is used in zelda u.

I wonder what the reward is for 20 hearts + ganondorf amiibo + no other amiibo. Either way I'm going to go for it, I think.

You sure about this? I'm seeing it right now in the Swedish eShop (though it's not purchaseable until tomorrow).

OP means that the only way to get the game standalone (without amiibo) in the US is digitally, on the eshop - not that the eshop version is exclusive to the US.

Copy enroute from Amazon. Got a few hours tomorrow night and Saturday night to get started, then I have Sunday through Tuesday off. Hoping to clear this game as fast as I cleared the Wii version (got it alongside my Wii in 2006, beat it in two days) so I can focus on The Division with my pals come Tuesday. :) Goal is to have the lengthy tutorial through Farron Forest cleared by the end of my play session Saturday night, and kind of no-life it on Sunday.

I'm excited to revisit what I admit is my least favorite 3D Zelda game (but not a bad game to me)... I only ever beat it on Wii, which I kind of didn't like much save for the gyro aiming, though I enjoyed the time I spent playing the Gamecube version some years later thanks to the more traditional control scheming. Best of both worlds with this version, and Hero Mode sounds like a great mode -- I've discovered the Souls series since my original playthrough of the game, so I will look forward to ramping up the difficulty and hopefully finding that it enhances the experience.

Any impressions of the controls?

Also, how is Hero mode? Someone earlier legit compared it to Dark Souls.

They are your typical Zelda controls. It's a tad weird being able to move and attack at the same time though. The gyro is great - just as TWW HD. I haven't progressed that much (in the first temple atm).

Edit:
I have not played hero mode yet. I wanted to see Hyrule non-mirrored.

I just watched parts of it, and...its not as bad as I thought it would be.

Does Best Buy usually ship preorders early so they arrive on release day?

I preordered Fallout 4 from Best Buy with free shipping and it arrived on the day of release so I assumed that was the standard, but my Twilight Princess order isn't showing as shipped yet. I don't think there's any chance it's going to arrive by tomorrow. :

I've definitely had them ship and arrive the same day. I want to say I've had games ship in the early morning of a Friday and arrive that afternoon. I live in a big city, though.

Just ordered this and Wind Waker HD. I've never played either
any really
Zelda game. Zelda seems to fit my usual 'type' of game, but I just never picked one up. Gonna play WWHD then decide if I'm keeping/opening TP. I'd planned to also pick up OoT next week, but I'll think I'll wait since I just bought these.

I pre ordered not only because I never fished it but because Zelda games always feel like some kind of event. It's awesome and I love the WiiU.

Hope you guys enjoy the game too.

Shipped, should get it tomorrow.

Can't wait to play this without it looking like a jaggy mess on my TV. It has age pretty poorly graphically.
