Nintendo Direct: new presentation announced for tomorrow

Nice Direct that was spoiled by leaks, the content still looks great and I'll cop a few of the titles shown for sure but would have been nice to see a new Paper Mario without any prior knowledge for example. Star Fox looks pretty good, nice to get an EU date for FE: Fates and the LE for it looks nice and Kirby and its Amiibo look adorable, more Splatoon and SMM content is always a good thing and I'll pick up #FE which is coming out sooner than I thought due to no English Voice.

I wasn't expecting megatons, so I'm not too gutted. Happy for #FE, MHX, Star Fox Zero.

That Federation Force segment was so awful, I was feeling bad for Nintendo.

How is nobody talking about the Mario Maker updates? I'd have watched a direct for just that news alone.

You guys really were expecting NX info on a random direct in March? Especially since we just recently got to know that not even 3rd Parties have any hardware or much info yet.

That was okay. Medli was by far the best part. Federation Force still has not sold me, and never will. If I get the chance to play it, I will, but I don't expect my opinion to change. Paper Mario could be good, but I kind of see the same trappings that Sticker Star had.

Still a little salty about the lack of Style Savvy, BUT! New Kirby, and motherfucking RHYTHM HEAVEN. I am okay with this.

"third party games montage" :(

Well, that Direct was...a Direct. Not all that hype, but hey, they can't all be. As far as what was shown, I think I'm going to just save up until summer-ish for dat sweet Zelda and whatever else beyond that. No need to go crazy.
I'm not sold on Federation Force, Nintendo. Lo siento.

I don't know what people were expecting. These are basically the end of life games of Wii U and 3DS, to tide people over until the good stuff comes out on NX. Considering that, it was decent.

Paper Mario seeming to be yet another Sticker Star, and Federation Force's continued existence stuck on the most to me to be honest. Pretty dissapointing.

LOL I found it funny there was a veiled "we know you had a lot of question about Federation Force" that implies they know the backlash. And I don't think they really addressed them. Eh, for me it just another Triforce Heroes, it's probably a fun multiplayer experiecne, but its more of a spinoff that a main game, and I'll probalby skip out on it.

D: And way to break my balls with Paper Mario guys. That game looks so pretty, but then those stupid cards and fan shows up and its all over for me.

To be honest, the only games I was going to pick up are ones I knew about already, Pokken and Bravely Second.

Here's hoping E3 blows it out of the water I guess.

Zelda Wii U is getting the Twilight Princess treatment, huh? Released on both Wii U and NX. They refuse to show us more of the game.

I really want to get excited for the new entry in the Paper Mario series but something tells me we will never get another Paper Mario like the first two.

Well, that was mostly lame and disappointing. Still, Earthbound on 3DS and FE Fates getting a release date and steelbook are nice!

Hell of a lot of garbage though. Also very sad the #FE is sub only, guess they're expecting it to die on its arse.

Sticker Star like Paper Mario and Federation Force can fick right off though. Really sows how out of touch with even their own fanbase Nintendo can be.

Paper Mario turns out to be Sticker Star 2.0, and they spent 5 minutes Nintensplainin' Federation Force.

I'm disappointed, but not by much. I think I'm getting used to this from Nintendo.

Neogaf is the worst when it comes to anything Nintendo. Unbearably infantile with the complaining.

It's why I just avoid reading through any Nintendo related threads now and generally a oid game discussion of GAF outside of lurking for new game news.

Literally who could think this was good? Is shilling a thing on GAF?

I like Monster Hunter, Hyrule Warriors, Dragon Quest, and Kirby so this was great for me.

#FE being sub only is also hilarious and amazing, because I think NoA's loc team actually did try and give it a shot before saying "fuck it" based on previous info released about the game. Or they just decided it's probably not worth the money, could be both.

that was dreck, dog

edit for actual useful discussion: not much new to be seen, and everything new was either very obviously not what anyone wanted or riddled with preorder and amiibo unlocks. just hoping this is the direct to clear the gunk out of the pipeline for NX

The new Paper Mario's gonna be another fucking Sticker Star.

At least give us GameCube Virtual Console so I can play TTYD at a reasonable price...

The Wii U never got a true Kirby game.
Tbh I feel like the 3DS and Wii U game should've swapped. Classic Kirby is much better played with friends on a big screen, while experimental Kirby works so much better on a handheld. I would've totally bought Rainbow Curse on 3DS.

Nintendo has allergies to invest heavy on new interesting IPs.

Always the same fucking platformers and old formulas again and again, for the most part.

On the bright side, Federation Force will release in Spring so they can't waste time on it at E3.

Right?
Didn't they say summer?

I liked the new footage of federation force, but tanabe's explanation really wasn't necessary and honestly made things worse.

Metroid = ISOLATION

How does the series producer not understand this basic concept?!!

Holy fuck is it an awful time to be a Nintendo fan. Fuuuuuck

"I know more about what this game is supposed to be about than the series producer of that game. Here are my credentials:"

(silence for 3 hours)

Man, George Lucas had it really rough, didn't he

So much hate.

I for one and perfectly happy with what was shown. We all know Zelda is going to launch with NX. They are holding it back for a reason.

In Nintendo I trust. this happens every time Nintendo starts to shift to a new console. The amount of support we have gotten on some titles is amazing. So yeah, i'm not going to complain. Bring on the Spring! Lots of fun stuff top play!

Wow. I had no expectations for this direct and just tuned in because I was bored. That was just... nothing. Everything showcased was just so incredibly bland and banal. On top of that, the presentation style was just boring. Zero excitement or enthusiasm was coming through from any of the presenters. Nintendo, this is not the way you should be presenting your games portfolio to people. Audiences need to be excited to put down $60 on a game and you gave us fuck all to work with. The only thing I can remember is that trashy pop idol game (think it's FE) and that's for the wrong reasons.

just to reiterate to the Nintendo Defense Force: No, I had zero expectations for this Direct, but I am still INCREDIBLY disappointed. That's quite an impressive feat by Nintendo when all is said and done.

this is probably the Direct that decides whether I buy a WiiU or I pass on it and buy a NX whenever it comes out.

if we get Zelda, it convinces me with its music and appearance and it clearly says WiiU

then it has to be done

thank you Nintendo! you just made me save me a ton of money

see you on NX next year

Enjoyed this direct a lot very hyped for #FE, DQ7, Disney Art Academy and Kirby also interested in Metroid federation force and Paper Mario hope its gonna be more like sticker star then TTYD. Probably gonna skip Fire Emblem. Not liking the way they split it into 3 games.
