That's why we have MFi controllers :)

RCR doesn't support MFi though or does it? ;)

anyone heard of chariot? just popped up on Apple TV:

It released around the Xbone launch on it and got some good impressions.

Thanks a lot.

Not feeling Lost Socks so far. I knew it wasn't my type of game but thanks to Pitta I could at least try it. Maybe it would help if there was MFi support. Developers who release such games without MFi support should be skinned alive :/

Yeah, played about 30 mins. Review seem pretty spot on from what i've seen. Plays nice but difficult makes it a chore.
Also don't understand how you could make such a game with MFi support.

So Retro does support MFi controller and its quite great.

Lost Socks is getting MFi controller support in an update soon.

Lol, of course Clash Royal gets a second week spot on best new games and another banner on top. Kinda feel bad for the Lost Socks dev, same week they release their game Clash Royal releases by surprise and steals some of their thunder. :/

Also, in that new Indie Game Showcase banner with Sam Barlow(Her Story) I see that some of Simogo's games are on his favorite games list. I've noticed that their games pop up a lot on those favorite games lists which I personally love. Simogo are one of my personal favorite devs on mobile by far.

Yeah... I guess auto runners aren't for me. Game is fun but I'm not super into it so far.

It's challenging but, unlike some other hardcore games, when I die I don't want to immediately restart. It feels a bit like a chore to redo the levels. Maybe because the core gameplay doesn't feel super tight and fun to me. When I die it doesn't feel like I fucked up, it feels like an event I had no control over but now I know what to do. Plenty of games do that but I don't enjoy that mechanical approach to challenge.

I'll keep playing to see if it clicks.

I really enjoyed what I played of Lost Socks but I also love that kind of gameplay. Got everything in both of the Rayman games and it this definitely scratches that itch. I have no problem beating my head against a level until I'm able to get through flawlessly.

I wish the jumping was as tight as Rayman's. Though now that I've unlocked more weapons and perks I'm enjoying the game a little more.

It's not quite as polished and slick as Rayman but it's not too far off. I enjoy the combo opportunities with the boost and the weak/heavy weapons.

I said something similar about the game last week. The gameplay is not always about skill sometimes it's just memorization as the reason you complete a level. I still love the graphics and customization options though.

Still on the fence with Dirac. I've enjoyed all of Mediocre's game, and the last time I held out on one of their games, I ended up really enjoying it when I finally played it (Does Not Commute)

I think almost all auto runners have memorization as part of the mechanics. I still feel this has more skill involved over the Rayman games which are even more memorization based.

The level design and branching paths, with mechanisms like having to break ice blocking a path and switches that set off elevator type devices or open bridges, is just brilliant IMO.

They are, which is one of the reasons I don't like them very much.

Interesting. Sounds like it was pretty solid on PC even though I can't find many reviews. But I guess this 3D remake is also for PlayStation VR? Wonder how that translates as a mobile game.

Edit: Damn the trailer sold me. Going to check it out on my Shield Tablet.

Pretty impressed by White Day so far. I hadn't heard of the original game, but read up on it and it seems to have a cult following in the horror gaming world. The original game in 2001 was never officially ported to the US, but has been favorably compared to Amnesia despite being made long before that game.

This version, which as I mentioned is also in development for PSVR, is a 3D remake. While I may not get some of the South Korean culture references, the full voice acting in English is well done and the atmosphere, taking place at night in a school with an ominous history, is creepy.

Anxious to see how this one goes the further I go in. But a stealth release worth looking into if you like horror games.

Is it MFi compatible? I saw virtual buttons and was a bit turned off...

Is this gonna be F2P crap like Plants v Zombies 2?
PvZ 2 is actually grown to be a pretty great example of F2P gaming IMO.
Originally it sucked because of the random key drops you needed to progress (or pay money to get), but they rehauled that system pretty early on.

Yes, the difficulty can be high which I'm sure is to get people to use the coin powers to help them, but everything can be beaten without using them or buying premium plants. The Zen Garden is pretty bad, but I never really use it.

EA also quadrupled the amount of content in the game (for free, amazingly). Granted the game only had 3 worlds at launch which was really weak, but now it's pretty massive. I've been coming back to this game for the last 3 years which is something I can't say for any other F2P game.

I'm playing the Android version but just am posting here as usual figuring they are the same. But at least in that version, there is a game pad option which says "beta" on it so if it does have support it may or may not work well.

However, there are three touch screen options including one where there are only two buttons on the screen with each half of the screen serving as your movement and visual "sticks". The others have dedicated pads or sticks right on the screen. I'm using the invisible stick option and it works great.

I'll try my Shield controller tonight to see how it works. Of course, I still wouldn't be able to say whether the option exists on the iOS version.

One other note, and people on TA seem to be having the same issue, is that there is just a small download and then a massive amount of downloads (about 2 GB), afterwards. I kept getting "download failed" and had to keep pressing retry. Fortunately, since there are like 60 separate files it restarts from the last file you downloaded. It's still a pain in the ass, but once it's done, the gameplay (so far) is worth it.

So, after looking into all releases, I'm torn between Able Black and Dream Machine. Somewhat leaning Dream Machine since apparently Able Black is really short.

I was torn between those two and DIRAC as well.
Ended up not buying anything and still playing Lost Socks like a madman, alternating it with Clash Royale, which seems appropriate.

I was about to buy DIRAC because of the dev and the looks which I absolute adore...but I've read somewhat disappointing impressions for my tastes.

Silver Bullet is on sale from $4.99 to $2.99.

It may be a little rough around the edges but it's still one of the best action games on iOS IMO and didn't get the attention it deserved from a small indie dev.

Don't think I've ever heard of it, thanks for the heads up.

Well, think I'll be doing a little less mobile gaming for a bit. Started Ori over again with the Definitive Edition. I just adore that game so much -- still think it would be at or very near my favorite games of all time. And I'm enjoying it all over again. Anxious to see the new moves and new areas. And love the new fast travel system.

I digress, but if I don't post here as much you'll know why.

But Lost Socks and White Day will pull me back in.

Guys, is there any way to stop an app that is in "Waiting" (to update) mode?

I started to update FFIX, but it says I don't have enough space. There is no way for me to have that space, so what other options do I have?

It's funny, because the app was installing, but it just stopped. Then I restarted the phone and now it's stuck in waiting.

edit: nevermind, fixed.

Any word on if it also fixed the MFi controller issues?

I would love to know this also. I bought this on day 1 and bought my first damn mfi controller (Horipad Ultimate) and it doesn't work except for movement. I'm waiting now to play it until controllers fully work :/

Bought Lost Socks based on impressions and ehhh it's ok. Difficult and somewhat frustrating for me but very pretty. I don't see myself getting all the way through it though - just not jiving with me.

Not that intent on buying it but how does Retro City Rampage control? Looks a little too fast paced to control well enough in the videos.
