Yeah the only thing I don't like is that the camera is seperate. If it's required it should be included especially since one does not come with the PS4.

Does the breakout box double as a camera?

I'm glad I won't be paying for an extra one, I'm just surprised there isn't a second SKU that includes camera (and/or move controllers).

Ok.
So headset, plus ps4 camera, plus move?
And you can just get 2 of the extra seperate move controllers correct?

Again, move is not required.

But yes, you can go out and buy 2 move controllers from wherever right now and it'll work.

lol no.

499 with camera and 2 moves? That would be great. Also expecting ps4 bundle at 799.

Actually...I'm not entirely sure how great that deal is considering the headset is likely tied to the PS4 hardware.

Did they mention whether or not the headset would work with future PlayStations? $400 is a lot to drop on a console that is half way through its lifespan already with no guarantees it will be forward-compatible with the PS5. That would certainly make me feel better about a PSVR purchase.

Again, move is not required.

It doesn't matter if it's REQUIRED or not. People will want to buy them because Move controllers will provide a proper Room VR experience. You'll get them and everyone else will want to as well, just like with the Oculus.

There were quite a number of people hoping for $299 and lower.

Of course there were, but Sony still found a sweet spot, as a cheap(er) solution would have affected the VR experience quite badly.

I am pretty sure that you will have to pre-order one if you want to use it as a Christmas present. At least in Germany, that is.

Okay where's the price including headset, camera, and Move controllers Sony? I need to know so that I can pre-order the package.

Can't see it being less than an extra $100, maybe they'll chuck an extra game in there.

Most likely going to be cheaper to grab them before the price of Moves jack back up, which I already did.

Will those games have VR modes or only cinema mode?

I paid that much for a PS4 day one knowing full well I'd get hours upon hours of enjoyment out of it. I don't feel so sure about VR. I don't think I can just buy it on potential alone.

Hmm, $399 with no camera/controllers or packed-in games isn't really all that much cheaper. I suppose total cost considering PC/PS4 is reasonably cheaper though.

I'm sure the price is fair but it's a little too high at £350 for me to jump in. Will watch how it develops over time.

I can easily afford this, but it is not worth more that £250 me. £100 too expensive.

i think £149 is when the rest of the UK will buy into it.

i will check prices this time next year.

For £349 i want PC compatibility.

This is the start of getting these headsets out. Prices will drop over time. No harm in waiting a while

Uhh...no camera included? It's a decent price regardless, but this is not a $399 product. Good marketing trick though, Sony.

Those games have nothing to do with VR. He mentioned them as games that'll be launching this year and that the PS4 is the best place to play.

So besides the camera, are you going to need the Move and the Nunchuck? Or two Moves?

Fortunately I already have the camera, Move and Nunchuck. I'm hoping I'm good to go.

I'm guessing at least $500.

And if they do a complete bundle including a PS4 console itself, that likely ends up close to $800.

Which would actually be close to that silly Amazon Canada price from a few months ago as $800 USD is a bit over $1050 CAD.

I think it's hilarious people are calling this expensive.

For VR, and what may be pretty good VR...this is cheap as dirt guys.

Also, you can get a camera and move for like $30-$35 TOTAL for both if you go used.

Less than $50 gets you BOTH new.

There's no way they'd make anything resembling a promise about a potentially future Playstation at this point. It might or might not work, but if we get a PS5 and if that console supports VR, expect a new version of the PSVR to be released for it, leaving this one either incompatible or compatible but with lower quality.

Too expensive. Would have been ok if camera and controllers were included. Will wait for 399 for the complete package.
