Red Letter Media |OT| of Movies, Murderers, and Pizza Rolls

The other night I re-watched and re-listened to the Ghostbuster's 2 commentary, and with Rich personally annoyed and angry that in the cartoon show they tried to introduce diversity, I"m dreading the eventual HitB episode.

That said, next week's Batman V Superman should be fun.

Oh, and since someone asked a while ago, I haven't heard back yet on if I can upload their Warm Bodies / Movie 43 HitB episode that is now missing. I'm still searching for United States of Nooooo.

I've never seen that Warm Bodies review, I think. Or maybe I have, but I don't remember it. Regardless, the fact that they did put up Movie 43 again probably means a copyright issue with the other part that they can't get around.

Huh I think I have the Baby's Day Out review downloaded. How are you asking whether to upload or not?

Maybe Mike will.

My prediction - They're gonna say it's boring and self serious, Jay will start tearing the movie apart, Mike will say "it's not that bad" and try and play devils advocate to Jay, which will lead to him defending the movie, then it'll end with him saying "I guess maybe go to see it?", and the the internet will be like "can't believe Mike likes another shitty movie".

looking at some of the reviews from the RT thread I don't think even Mike will like this movie

they need to get Rich in to make bad 9/11 references, though. Missed opportunity if they don't, imo

Rich will hate it, which will make Mike follow his lead and hate it too.

Mike is the kind of guy who thinks "whatever, as long as I'm entertained", but Rich's energy at making fun of the movie will be contagious and impossible to resist.

I hope mike doesn't like it, if he does you know he just going to zone out and not give a proper critic. really hope Rich will be there, guy drops the knowledge on comic books (that TMNT origin info he gave in BotW was great).

They all collectively hated MoS. They'll undoubtedly hate this as well.

this might happen if the movie was entertaining. it's not

I can't wait for their review

Well, I haven't seen it, I'm just saying Mike is more likely to not go all in if the movie at least amuses him in some ways, intentionally or not.

I know they hated MoS (I did too) and I know they are snarky towards ("visionary director") Zack Snyder in general. I'm not expecting any of them to like it in any case, I'm just proposing several degrees of "laugh-at-the-movie" kind hate to an "I wanted to kill myself" depression event.

I feel like it's a much more narrow road for these comic movies. Even when they really liked Winter Soldier, they kept talking about not liking the trend of comic movies and they kind of gave out about the whole thing. GOTG too. It seems like they are sick of these movies and the whole connected universe but when they like the movie, they will say so.

They basically said in the Deadpool review "we're tired of the trend of comic book movies... yet they all continue to be good on their own terms" which I think is a fair point.

From the synopsis i've read from someone who has seen it, all three are going to skull fuck this film (and quite rightly so)
Aren't yall making the assumption that rich and/or jack will be in that half in the bag episode?
They said on stream Rich is going to see it with them, and be on it.

Honestly people give Mike a hard time for liking Jurassic World.

But I went with a friend and we laughed the WHOLE time over how ridiculous the fucking movie was.

I mean it had a t-rex and a velociraptor making mecha shiva ffs how can you not laugh?

There's no chance Rich isn't there for the BVS review.

I think it will be one for the ages, and will probably be worth the ticket I paid for the film.

I'm not even gonna watch the film in theaters and I'll watch the BvS review By the time I watch it I'll only remember the basic idea of their opinions anyways, and it's not like it'll color my opinion as I've disagreed with them before.

As long as we're talking movies and theaters, did you all know that the movie theater in one of the Plinkett reviews with his "spastic colon" is a real theater? I looked it up once to see if it was real or a Chunky's Chicken-esque rouse, and it turned out to be real.

It's the finer details....

I think a potential review of BvS will just be good. The best reviews are trainwrecks that they didn't expect to be as bad. It's the reason why Jack and Jill is their best review, while Pixels is merely good. Hack Snyder is a known quantity for them, this movie needs to be orders of magnitude worse to elicit an epic response.

I re-watched the MoS review yesterday, and there's a part where they say: "you need to show Superman saving someone from a burning building" to show that he cares or something along those lines.

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm pretty sure (mild spoilers) Superman saves someone from a burning building in this one (mild spoilers). From what I've read, it also hilariously misses the point of "saving" someone in the first place, I just want these hack frauds to reference it in their new review.

Somewhere Snyder is like: Fine, I put that in, what else do you want from me Plinkett? *shakes fist*

hahaha

Snyder addresses those complaints in the most banal and superficial way. Superman literally does what you just said.

I hope you aren't accusing Zack Snyder of being banal and superficial.

Wait, hold on, let me look up those words.

Yeah nevermind you're good.

Watching Zack Snyder's career does feel like seeing someone throw up in the punch bowl at a party and then having everyone continue to drink from it despite your warnings

Just saw BvS and its a 4/5 from me. There's a lot going on and some stupid stuff but I didnt feel like I was being treated like an idiot while watching it, which I get a lot from marvel stuff

There was a lot of cool DBZ action, so if you like that, there you go.
