Thanks for getting the word across, Koozek. I have to tell you all now that my translations aren't always up to par; this time I'm about 85% confident in the accuracy. Hope you like what you see next week.

Rin
Nice to see you here, too! :D You've been doing great work. Quoted a lot of your Mognet posts here recently.

We've had twice as long Final Fantasy games without those before. A main quest of 50 hours sounds like what it should be.

Which Final Fantasys are these? I've played everything, but I, II, and XIII, but all of my playthroughs were about 40. XII was 80 my first time I think, but that was due to doing a lot of mark hunts.

I predict this is going to be a slightly better game than Fina Fantasy Type-0 and people will get up in arms and swear never to buy a FF game ever again.

I don't think that's a good prediction. Type-0 was developed from the ground-up for the PSP, and seems to have been well-received there. The version most people seem to have been down on was the one that got an awkward transition to the PS4. At least FFXV is built to be a proper console experience.

Type-0 is better than many games, and people still buy them.

Unlike FFT0, this game is big and will be a looker, but I believe the battle system will be very similar and people will not like that, not one bit,

I wonder how many real world hours this will translate into.

I usually finish games at like 30% off their estimated playtimes.

I liked the battle system of Type-0 on PSP enough to put more than 100 hours into that game.

What gives you that idea? From what we have seen, the battle system is vastly different. The only thing that can be considered similar is how the button mashing works between both games.

I'm not even sure button mashing works for Type-0 (if you are not overleveled).

oh my too, I have 285 hours there :) and will be happy with this game if it resembles Type-0

one video of FFXV showing the battlesystem gave me the vibe but I should probably research more. so reserving judgment for later.

I don't mind either way.

Big thank you to Mognet's @Rin:
This is some great stuff. Did they show the world map of the game or what?

I miss having Rin on Twitter (assuming we are talking about the same person).

I was talking about the keeping button pressed to attack part. It felt very similar to Type-0 HD when I played the Duscae demo but the matter of the fact is that they seem to have completely revamped the battle system and we can't judge it anymore based on our impressions in Duscae.

That's kinda low isn't it?
Are they not including side contents time or there are no meaningful ones at all?

God I hope it's not a repeat of xiii and xiii-2

You think this is short? lol

I don't know how many weeks it will take me just to finish the main game in 50 hours. MGSV took me months.

My goodness, 50 hours? Given that I like to grind to high levels before I reach the final boss it'll probably take me even longer to finish the main quest. :/

Ohhh, so the world is all interconnected then with no load times? That's really cool.
Didn't they change the game into ffxii/ffxi style zonal maps?
Must be why airship presented a problem if there is no seamless world?

Doesn't sound like they said either way if airship will be controllable

Oh that was your translation? Good job!

Regaring the surprise, my bet is on an animated movie, mobile spin-off and a PS4 bundle. We will also see collaborations like with FFXIV just like we had for Lightning. But I don't expect a new game announcement there, just minor stuff related to FFXV.

We are talking about the same person.

Rin
I am glad to hear back from you. I have account on mognet central but limited time makes it hard to check out multiple forums including Twitter. I hardly post on GAF as well.

I always enjoyed your work :)

The Final Fantasy games have only gotten generally longer as the series has gone on.

HowLongToBeat.com estimates for Main Story:

1 - 18 hours
2 - 26 hours
3 - 31 hours
4 - 25 hours
5 - 35 hours
6 - 34 hours
7 - 38 hours
8 - 42 hours
9 - 43 hours
10 - 49 hours
12 - 58 hours
13 - 49 hours

35 hours for FF7? Damn, the average person are speed demons. It took me 60-65ish. 35 was my 2nd play through.

Those times are for pure main story runs.

Additionally for FF7:

Main Story+ Some Extras : 57.5 hours
Completionist: 90.5 hours
Average: 56 hours

Yeah, that list doesn't look right to me. It's possible that the older a game is, the less those time estimates reflect first playthroughs.

FF7 main story isn't that long. If you play just main story and keep track with a walk through it takes like 30ish hours.

Is it weird I really want to see a Final Fantasy airport?
Like, an airport within the series? Not at all.

Getting a little OT, but one of my favorite things about the Mario Kart series is seeing everyday locations like Airports and Malls adapted to the Mario universe. Considering the whole fantasy based on reality angle, I'm actually looking forward to see everyday conventions in a realistic looking FF world. Going by the shops and gas stations in Duscae, they're on the right track.

some reddit rumor stuff. Would be interesting if true, but take it how you will. The alleged details:

-FFXV is coming to PC

-There will be a CG movie call "FFXV: The Kingsglaive", maybe you have heard of this rumor before, I can tell you its 100% real. I dont know if its a prequel or when it is coming (before or after the game)

-There will be a mobile game called "FFXV LITE"

-Theres a new demo coming called "Platinum demo". I dont know if this is the final name or codename
